I don't wantto disrespect Shark`s work (so Shark please excuse me ), but I'm using ffdshow and I'm not having any issues at all.

Just select the Desktop next time you download something, it will remember your settings.

Maybe it's not compatible with Vista. AFAIK the Aquarium Screensaver works *only* on XP Media Center.

Floppy seek doesn't disable the floppy controller. You have to disable it in BIOS and make sure there aren't any 3 1/4" floppies available.

If you're trying to access a share on Vista from XP in a LAN, you must know that by default the Guest account in Vista is turned off, so you must know the credentials of a valid account on the Vista machine in order to access the share or set the permissions of the share so that "Everyone" has at least "Read" permission.

What programs? Please be more specific, give examples. Are the cd's being read? Have you tried to install the programs in XP compatibility mode?

I'm with jaclaz here. Just edit the wallpaper (even in M$ Paint you can do it ).

The key combination is actually Winkey + Tab and I'm not sure home premium has flip-3d. I might be wrong though on the latter.

On its own display it will tell you when it's running low on toner.

I always found k-lite pack a bit awkward... That's why I always recommend ffdshow. Actually I'm running it on Vista Ultimate x86 and ain't got any problems opening files at all.

It happened to me too some time ago at work. A call to M$ and nice talking got my XP reactivated, of course after proving I bought the licence with that workstation.
