  1. It's possible that the IP protocol stack has become corrupted. You could try, although I don't think it will do much, to run an adware scanner and see if cleaning that might help. Is the system slow all-around?
  2. Which PC's IP address got changed? Who's your ISP? How the the XP machines get access to the net?
  3. Or use a program like HideIP... Google will tell you where to download it from. Shareware! lol, or that. But does it spoof ur mac address?
  4. Ive been wondering if my Radeon 9550 can handle the rendering? Do you think I'll need to get an Nvidia quatro or ATI firegl?
  5. The real way to hide yourself is to block cookies, turn off java and javascript, use high anonymity proxies from brazil, germany, or china, and spoof your MAC address.
  6. One other biggie is, "what changed between the time the PC was working and the time is wan't working?" "Did you add any other software/hardware, or make any congifuration changes?" A lot of the time the person will answer no to the first question but will then say "oh yea, I did install this toolbar." Or something of the like.
  7. Not so fast Arnie got in. Period. There was actually a black woman runnin for pres. in Florida. She didn't get past the district elections. She had political experience. I don't want to bring up either race or sexuality into this, but the American public isn't willing to elect a woman pres., let alone a black pres. Now what I just said doesn't mean I'm one of those people. Hell, I'm all for an election in which we don't see what the candidate looks like and all we have to decide is their platforms. However, everyone knows that that's not gonna happen within our lifetimes. So what does the American public do? They either pick the lesser of two evils, or they pick whoever their party said was good.
  8. *bump* I found this site. It has tutorials for 3ds max AND maya. A few others as well. Doesn't look like you have to sign up for anything, I haven't gone in-depth on it though so....I also don't know if this site is already in the sticky you guys sent me to but w/e. http://www.expertrating.com/courses/courses.asp
  9. Ophra would never get passed the district elections. She has absolutely no political experience of which to speak.
  10. Have the PC with the internet conn. share the conn. That'll give the other PCs connecting to it the IP address and gateway info they need to get on the net. From here, bridge the connections from the LAN to the internet. Then, have the wireless router use WPA security. It's more secure than WEP. If you can, configure the router to allow only included MAC addresses.
  11. I got 100 invites if anyone wants any.
  12. What do you have to think about? 'Cuz if it's a normal man, the chip would proabably overload from all the porn he wants to watch. lol
  13. LMFAO. Sry dude, but ur way off. If you think that an antivirus progy or firewall will keep you safe, you've got another thing coming. Of course, if you only visit Disney, you don't need to worry about anything.
  14. Ur system is, possibly, trying to boot from a LAN. Go into BIOS and make sure that all the drives are set to auto detect. Save changes and reboot. Make sure that you can at least go into windows. Make sure, also, that you jumpers are properly set and that it is in IDE0. Also, what drives do you have? HDD and optical?
  15. The safeguard thing is the way I see it. As for the book, it's the MCSA/MCSE Self-Paced Training Kit (Exam 70-270): Installing, Configuring, and Administering Microsoft Windows XP Professional, Second Edition. You wont find the whole safeguard concept thing, again, that's the way I see it. You will, however, find that thing about how even though you wouldn't normally have access to files/folders under one acct., if you are in the Backup Operators group, you can backup and restore files. If you remove the two options when restoring, you remove the security.
  16. Run hijack this and post up the results.
  17. It's sort of a security hole but it's well known. The exam book for winXP says that if a user is in the backup operators group, he can access files through the programs even though he wouldn't normally have access to them. Was it stupid to do that? Sure. But it's more of a safeguard so that you don't have to do too much to backup and restore. But you will get access if you do it the way I said. I'm not gonna post it here cuz I don't wanna look it up or remember, but that's what you do. I've done it a few times with no probs so.....
  18. It may be simple file sharing. Because XP uses it, and 2K doesn't, there's conflicts. I had a similar problem where I could see the other ppls PCs but they couldn't get into mine. I just turned off SFS and it fixed it up. Try that.
  19. If the ISO is bigger than 1 or 2 gigs, you can't use it directly. Just get a virtual drive and load it from there. I used elbysoft virtual drive.
  20. You don't seem to have any malware. Just pop in the winXP cd and run sfc /scannow from the run dialog.
  21. But you can't use the products for anything but personal use. My school was subscribed to this and we could download anything as long as it was personal education.
