  1. lol, not bad.
  2. What kind of harddrive are you using? Did you recently install anything hardware related? Can you install Linux on the same HDD that you're trying to install Win on?
  3. Don't you have to put the domain/pc name before the name? For instance, if you're in domain MSHOME, the object name would be MSHOME/Lakhani. Or if the PC's name is HOME, the object name would be HOME/Lakhani. I'm pretty sure it's like this.
  4. Can't you just use a hot swappable HDD? Like servers have? Or is this the same thing? I didn't really read the whole steps so I'm not sure if this was included.
  5. I'm a radeon fan, mainly because some series, forget which, from nvidia are big power consumers. Also, they take up an extra pci slot.
  6. Use the User State Management Tool, a.k.a. USMT. Just google it.
  7. Do a search on this forum for WPI.
  8. Disable the useless services. I haven't used Symantec for a while. I changed to McAfee but now ima go with zonealarm. But again, just go to run->services.msc. From there just disable what you think you wouldn't need.
  9. ****!!!I shouldn't of bought the game. But the SP mode is nice though, kinda freaky at times.
  10. What changed from the time that you could send out e-mails to the time that you couldn't? Did you add any programs or make any configuration changes? Did you reconfigure your firewall? What firewall do you have?
  11. Why not just post something up on craigslist? Are you just looking for general movies and games or what?
  12. Here's what I did. Go into the recovery CD again and install the OS as if you normally where. The only thing you DON'T DO is format the disk. What will happen is, all the files that YOU made will not be deleted. However, the profile will be deleted. This does not mean that the folder is deleted as well, it's still there so don't worry about it. I've done this a few times myself. BTW, this will not fix your OS because nothing beats a clean install. Just do that, and backup your files. From there, do a clean install.
  13. Linksys all the way.
  14. You could spend that much and more on PCs. Just take a look at Maximum PC's 2k6 dream machine. It cost them ~10.5K. But they got their hands on some serious gaming HW. They also got a pro paint job.
  15. I'm surprised you don't have kingston or mushkin in there.
  16. What sound card are you using? What "tests" are you talking about? Have you looked in device manager to see if the sound card has any problems?
  17. Not that I am one to clasiffy threads as spam, but isn't it spammer-ish to join a forum and post a program link, literally, minutes later?
  18. You could try Hide Folder. It's shareware though. There's also Hide Files & Folder. This is a freeware app that lets you hide and/or block folders. With one of these, you could select create the folders that T D was writing about and block them from the prog.
  19. I'm surprised they could affor it. I heard bad reviews from many of SanDisk's products.
  20. Go into the System Config Utility and clear any non-essential programs from the Startup tab and Services. Run defrag. Get more ramn. Download bootvis. It was developed by M$ but you can find it anywhere by googling it. Just run bootvis->click trace in the menu bar->Next boot + driver delays->click OK.
  21. Funny thing. I took a look at the link and guess what I found? Take a look at the author's name.
  22. You can serve 10 PCs. There's a registry entry that you can change to serve more, but you run into system instability. Which is why win server is server. Many things in it are streamlined for handling many ppl.
  23. That was also going to be my suggestion. The simplest always works What if HE want's access? Or just allow your MAC address.
  24. Can't you create a rule blocking ip address *.*.*.*
