  1. Your problem? You said it yourself: Vista 32 Beta. This is what you have to deal with when running a beta OS. It really isn't a good idea unless you have a good reason like developing drivers.

Yeah, but ffdshow isn't really our (HFSLIPpers) style, ya know? Slipstreaming the raw codecs into the ISO? Ya, that is our style
  3. Wow...that looks really bad. Pink and blue on neon green? ugh!
  4. Nice! Great, efficient layout that rendered perfectly on my browser!
  5. Looks great but you should try to use fewer images. The page took a long time to load for me...and some of the images don't join up quite riught and are a bit jagged. Cool site!
  6. Why not merge the two into one site? Is there a reason the blog is a separate entity?
  7. ...nice, clean design except for the flash at the top. Use HTML instead.
  8. Yes, they do.

ffdshow is completely different, really. This community doesn't have much love for ffdshow so it isn't part of this pack and I keep it off of my testbeds. Not sure why your decoding path is looping like that; mine is fine. Please list this info for the affected video: 4CC, compatible video codecs, and stream type. This is all reported by gspot for a properly encoded file. AFTER you get this data, click on RENDER, wait for it to finish, and then click on "Rendering successful (click for details)". I'd be interested to hear what is in there as well. Although it may be for naught with ffdshow on your machine now...it tends to hijack most types of multimedia streams. 3ivx is not part of this pack.
  10. You need a router that supports 802.3ad Link aggregation for this. Good luck finding an affordable one for home use! ;/ Cards are easier to come by, but you need both. I'm not familiar with a way to bind VMWare to a specific network card. Two very interesting ideas!

What conflicts? Please describe. In that case I'll see about fixing the pack to make that movie work properly. Thanks for confirming the bug! The only ones in that list that bother me are the last two. I'll see what I can do about them. The .asf doesn't work now that you have your WM codecs installed? Probably not because I haven't updated them in a while. Honestly, you are lucky if they work at all. Installing QT/Real in this way doesn't work (for me) very well. The 'alternative' installers work great. This is at the bottom of my to-do list
  12. The Windows XP experts are over here
  13. Try setting it up the way you want and then disconnecting the USB device with the tray icon. Unplug the cable, plug it back in, and hope If that doesn't work: set it up the way you want again, right-click on 'my computer', click 'manage', and go into 'disk management'. Right click on the drive in question and ensure that it has it's own drive letter assigned. If not, XP will assign the drive letter dynamically each time it activates the device and that could cause the lost settings. XP is so flaky :/
  14. Scorp, that will be fine. Hopefully the hub isn't too old...does it say '100' on it somewhere? You should be fine if it does...if not, those two PCs will likely experience some slowdown. If they are just used for e-mail and casual browsing you should be OK though. Putting the hub there will get everyone on the net.
  15. Not everyone can do such things. The easiest, and most appropriate, thing to do in this scenario is to replace that node with a switch/hub. Plug it in and go enjoy the holiday weekend
  16. Routers break up broadcast domains; he will have an uphill battle configuring whatever router he is using to make it work the way he wants.Follow 5eraph's advice.
  17. I do it because I find the tools incredibly convenient and when I need to do some bugstomping that requires the creation of ISO after ISO until a problem is fixed...the tools help me a lot. Again, I think that the script was added as a safety precaution for 'joe user'. I agree with you that it isn't that useful, that is why I stripped it out and posted the silent installer to begin with!
  18. What? I don't understand your post.
  19. Speed and size? All RogueSpear did was turn it into a switchless installer and write, if I remember correctly, like 5 lines of VB script to check the BIOS to see if it was VMWare. Not that big of a deal. Maybe you should make an addon for us instead of using the switchless installer? Or are you saying that the installer was silent/switchless to begin with so no modifications needed to be made?
  20. You should qualify this request as 'copyright-free' or 'creative commons' materials. I'm not sure your request belongs in this particular forum anyway.
  21. RogueSpear probably never tested to see if it would install outside of a VM. Even though it apparently doesn't do so, it also doesn't hurt to have some extra assurance that you aren't hosing a live machine. RogueSpear is an experienced addon maker. I'm sure he had a good reason for packing the original version of this the way he did.

The .asf should work if your .WMV files are now working. I'll look into that one a bit deeper. .MOV support is spotty, and H.264 isn't supported by this pack yet. These should all work. I recall one of the test vids giving me green distortion as well so it may just be that file. Can you do me a favor? Load up gspot and see what it reports when you try to load these three files. Thanks for all of your help with this!
  23. @Delprat: I've never tried to do so, but thought it was worth emphasizing for people new to VMs. Thanks for the tip!
  24. What exactly doesn't work? I checked the link and it is fine.
  25. Welcome to the language barrier. Have a nice stay.
