  1. @FDV: I think we are on the same page, but we don't know it I was just posting that because your 2k3 project is in the works and I thought that the guide might help answer some questions that come up. Cheers!
  2. I'm sure that everyone already knows about this except me, but here it goes anyway: http://win2k3.msfn.org/ I found it on this page along with lots of other neat guides.
  3. Has anyone tried this out? http://www.lifehacker.com/software/install...ayer-162910.php And here is a bit of news:http://www.pcworld.com/news/article/0,aid,125223,00.asp
  4. Sweet! These work great. The bugs have been squashed and more stuff is reduced than ever before. Great job, tommyp!
  5. And could that person also mention why they would run such a configuration? It seems to me that if you are going to keep/use IE it would make sense to use the latest version. Is IE5 better in some respect?
  6. Could an installation-monitoring program watching the IE7 uninstallation process help?
  7. For those suffering from the affliction, here is the cure.
  8. tommy, that sounds like you highlighted and did a left-click drag...try holding the right button. I would confirm but I wiped out most of my mouse gestures except for 'forward' and 'backward'. Speaking of gestures, will the new IE have them? Firefox does via extension, but they all run dog slow. Yeah, I know Maxthon has them...but maxthon requires the current gen of IE.
  9. *ahem* Office 2007 is now going to launch in 2007, not 2006. Yeah, I should stop.
  10. Unconditional love for MS products? Some might say "Company Man."
  11. Until you can get some real advice from the devs, I can offer a bit of unqualified tester advice You have lots of stuff in FIX. Is that OK with XP? I am a 2k user and I don't put nearly that much stuff in FIX...but I also don't have things like the theme support. Has everything in your HF folder been used to generate a good ISO before? Try running w/o HFCABS as well. Not sure how well-tested the support for those DX cabs is I don't have a freakin' clue about mpdir1.txt Good luck!
  12. /me is still an avid Opera fan. Just FYI for you Firefox lovers: love Firefox extensions? Try Opera UserJS. Not as robust of a selection yet, but we're getting there!
  13. From http://www.businessweek.com/mediacenter/po...du_03_09_06.htm Visit link for audio.
  14. I have trouble with printer drivers as well. Instead of fighting/fixing the issue I just setup another machine (non-HFSLIP) with the drivers and use that one via vnc. Probably unrelated; just thought I'd throw it out there in case we are all having the same issues w/o realizing it.
  15. I would love to test; if only I had a copy of 2k3... The only copy I have right now is a time-limited academic version that came with one of my college books.
  16. What do you mean by 'rescell'?Is wmp10.inf present in SOURCESS? On the installed system (perhaps in the wrong location)?
  17. Some more reading material for fans of HFCLEANUP: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=33802
  18. Not only does saugatak return, but dirtwarrior as well! Its like a reunion in here
  19. That oughta do it. I suppose you could do an APPREPLACEMENT of blackbox.exe for explorer.exe...that would be simpler but if there are any issues it would be harder to track down. Don't forget about blackbox's config files, backgrounds, fonts, plugins, etc.
  20. Hmmm...how would that be used? Where would the folders go? 'program files'?
  21. Yeah, my last post was still vague How about this for even more fidelity: HFEXPERT\CODECS\ = copied over; txtsetup.sif & dosnet.inf updated; all files except exe and cpl registered HFEXPERT\WIN\* = copied over; txtsetup.sif & dosnet.inf updated HFEXPERT\APPREPLACEMENT\ = copied overHFEXPERT\WIN\ is the only one that will use subfolders, right?
  22. processed = copied over, right? No other processing (like CODECS)?
