  1. Happy birtday man, good luck in all your endevours.
  2. Was he orig. talking about Bart's? Hmmm. must have missed it, ignore the post
  3. Posting your code is fine, I also use HTA and VBscripts, but in a more "utility" type CD.
  4. I have not heard of NetSky's causing signal spikes, but a signal spike is exactly what it sounds like a shot of high Voltage high Current, "power", sent into your lan connection, if you did get a signal spike you would have more than likely lost your cable modem also. I would run SFC as mentioned above, uninstall the card throw it in a different machine, if possible, completely unistall it from your current hardware profile then re-insert the card and reinstall the drivers.
  5. Agreed, I HATE .exe's! To much trouble to tear apart and inspect...
  6. So ok here is what I get; You want to write a program that launches winnt32.exe from WinPE, now will this be a shell i.e. will it replace the CDM.exe /K in setupreg.hiv , if so Cubie was working on somethng like this, if it is to be used inside WinPE, like a seperate program to launch an install you will have to make it very customizable, do to the layout of everyones CD/DVD's surely vary a little, ex. mine is in XPPRO folder at the root of the drive. This I am assuming can be accomplished by relying on the user to input a correct batch file. I am in no way knocking your idea I think it is great, just giving my worthless $.02
  7. I am not really concerned with that issue because I found a program that allows me to do it outside ERD/WinPE. Now my issue is back to where are the start menu items listed....
  8. Nope no dice but I did get inside it, still nothig though, I am assuming it is because I am uber the assumption that it used MS explorer when it actually uses it's own version filexplorer. But I did get some useful info seems like it uses proram manager registery entries to control certain aspects, i.e. NoRun, NoFileMenu, NoClose, etc.
  9. Meaning the user is the problem. <A short in electronics is a piece that does nothing besides pass the signal from one place to another, no voltage drop, nothing.>
  10. It does seem to ruffle feathers, but all in all it is the truth.
  11. Yeah still all fu$$ed, dunno WTF is going on, all computers this happens. It is really annoying because it say's it can't find the page when I try to change my password. Oh well, what you gonna do.
  12. But I can check my yahoo abd it still says it is me. So now I am pretty sure it is yahoo mail.
  13. So Yahoo mail has been loopy for the last couple of hours, for me atleast. It will not let me keep my login signed in no matter what I do. I tells me I am all kinds of different people, i.e. cheesnipsdude who the f*** is that? anyone else having this issue or is it just me? And now it says my browser is not supported, wierd.
  14. The only way I have been able to reproduce your error is to try to run the ERD2003 logon.exe from the HD's temporary folder while building the ISO, so I don't know what this means, my only guess is that it is trying to run it as if it were on the HD, so I would double check that the loading into RAM is still good. Kinda confusing.
  15. That is odd that it worked with SP1 but not SP1a, Are you sure you are typing it in correctly? If it was black listed it would not work with SP1.
  16. You have a non bootable CDRom, so you will need one then, also, if you use the likes of Partition magic, etc. they make recovery floppies incase you hose up your partition table, allowing you to restore it to the original configuration. There's two.
  17. Seems to me that ERD encrypts the registery files after the ISO is created, due to not being able to load them into a registry editor, I have looked at them while creating the files for the ISO and they are mainly the normal REG files for WinPE, but the file sizes after the ISO is built is considerabley smaller in the defalt.hiv file. Anyhow anyone got any ideas?
  18. there is a utility built for peuilder that should work.
  19. Quebec Nordiques are now the Colorado Avalanche Winnepeg Jets are now the Phoenix Coyotes
  20. I was just reading through this post and thought of another way to do this, you will need windows PE though, you could write a simple batch file to get the MAC of the machine at WinPE load, since you are using the CD you can kill the network bat's that run, then call the winnt32.exe with each pc's unattend.txt this could make it totaly unattended. I will try to look into this this weekend and let you know.
  21. If it was only as easy as choosing the winner..... Go Nordiques! oh wait... I mean Go Av's!
  22. I would also like to see the Habs, but I have a feeling it is going to be the winner of the Flyers/Devils series.
  23. I have been trying for a couple of days to find out where ERD 2003 stores it's list of start menu programs, All I am trying to do is add a Virus scanning option and this is turning out to be a major pain in the arse! So if anyone has any information on this subject please enlighten me.... I have added a desktop shortcut but that is not what I am really looking to do.
