I guess I should have asked which version of windowsPE you are using, when you got your OPK was there a SP1 sticker on it, or in the documentation does it say you can use it to build from Server 2003?

Diskpart is not meant for existing installations, it is for a fresh hard drive. But here is the info: http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documen...s/diskpart.mspx EDIT-- diskpart /s <path>\diskpart.txt FORMAT S: /FS:NTFS /V:My_Label where diskpart.txt would contain: REM Select future S:\ drive SELECT DISK 1 REM Wipe the disk clean CLEAN REM Create a single Primary Partition CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY REM Set the drive to mount at S:\ ASSIGN LETTER=S Source:http://www.jsiinc.com/SUBO/tip7200/rh7282.htm

Here is what I am using: http://www.microsoft.com/isaserver/beta/default.asp
-
Use the new version it is stated in the post as to why.
-
So if your partition is already setup then it should be easy due to negating the need for diskpart. so just ex. mkdir %driveletter%\minint Xcopy thefiles %driveletter%\minint Xcopy ntdetect %driveletter% easy man just try it out.
-
Read this post and then add the needed Diskpart/Xcopy commands: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=14316&st=0 Wait where are you installing from?
-
Thanks. If anyone else has any more helpful links please post them.

Could these links be pinned? Alot of questions in this section are solved by going to these sites. Thanks.

Using WinPE CD install 3rd-party driver and error
likuidkewl replied to ccshen's topic in Windows PE
Have you searched this in the MS preinstall forums? I seem to recall this being an issue alot. Are you sure you have all of the neccessary files in the appropriate directories? Try out these directions: Also this post I put up has all kinds of helpful links form Microsoft. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=16764 And the above instructions came from the "Top Issues May 2003 using the Windows Preinstallation Kit" here: http://oem.microsoft.com/script/contentpag...x?pageid=520851 Remember you must be registered as a OEM with ms to get access to these sites. Good luck! -

Yes, false I actually asked that question in one of the Chat Sessions for SP2 Beta, IE and OE session, back when it was 2055 and they replied with, not until longhorn. Aaron-I agree I like the download manager for the beta sites works well for me.

Other: MS ISA Server & Router
-
Man I tried that and I got frustrated with picking all the drivers out, took way to long for me.
-
In WinPE you can run the BuildOptionalComponents.vbs which add support for HTA, ADO, and most importantly WSH. All you do is copy the files to the PE parent folder, ie. System32, etc. and add OC.bat to your startnet.cmd
-
You are going to have to find thier dependencies and reg entries, happy hunting. I would install PE to a HD and then install the files, and then use windiff on the two, the CD and HD, to find the differences in the reg and drivers that need to be added etc. EDIT// As far as I know the MMC is still busted.
-
So this happens to be one of those issues with the OPK's, I have never tried to install an MSI from the winbom so this is useful.
-
Have you tried posting here: http://communities.microsoft.com/newsgroup...s.oem.windowsxp Also are you using switches for the MSI file?
-
The issue I see with that is HTML help files will not work on this machine, if this machine is connected to a router/firewall like a Microsoft server edition running ISA server software you can disable internet access to it all the time in the setting of the ISA server itself, Microsoft has a fre trial of ISA server 2000 for download and I think the ISA server 2004 beta went public also.

XP SP2 slimming batchfiles
likuidkewl replied to jdeboeck's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
I know that as of right now even disbaling the service center will kill the V5 update site, I disabled it in the registry and the security updates will not install so I am hoping they change that but I doubt they will. I too would like it gone but we will see what hapens with the final release. -
I have never had an issue with the HD source, you just have to remember to point the installer at the XPDIR\I386 folder.
-
No he means something like Geoshell, blackbox, etc.

To Our Partners: The European Commission today announced a decision against Microsoft in its five-year investigation of the company. I am writing to provide you with more information on the process that has led to this point and how we see it going forward. First, it is important to emphasize that, as Commissioner Monti has noted, throughout this long investigation Microsoft has worked constructively with the Commission and has sought to address all of the concerns relating to the case. As this case moves forward, Microsoft will respect and fully comply with European law, we will continue our investment in developing great technologies, and we will continue to deliver our innovation to our partners and customers. We were indeed able to reach agreement on all of the issues in the current case. In doing so, Microsoft made far-reaching and very substantial concessions on both the interoperability and media playback technology sides of the case. We volunteered a set of obligations that would have been unprecedented in the technology industry or elsewhere. Our settlement offer, which applied worldwide on both sides of the case, would have resulted in over 1 billion competitor media players being distributed in the next 3 years. However, the Commission also required Microsoft to agree to a single formula that would define how all questions concerning future innovation and technology integration beyond the scope of the current case should be dealt with. As a company that has been at the leading edge of the last 20 years of technology innovation and development, we do not believe that it is possible or desirable to design a single rule that would apply to all innovation and technology integration questions that may arise in the future. Innovating to the benefit of partners and customers has been the driving vision of Microsoft—and the basis of its partner philosophy—since it started in 1975. Our understanding of the needs of European partners and customers goes back to the time when the company set up its first European operations 22 years ago in 1982. Many of the innovations over that time have focused on language support, usability and adding features that improve the user experience with their PC from the moment they take it out of the box. And we seek to do this at a fair price by taking all our new technologies to a mass market. In many ways these additional technologies are core to user experience and to the usefulness of the product for partners and customers. According to our research, fully 80 percent of our European customers believe that Windows Media Player should be included with Windows. Computers have changed the way we live and work in the past two decades and Microsoft is proud to have been part of that revolution. It is unfortunate that the European Commission chose to take this route, but we also recognize and thank the Commission for the professional and co-operative fashion in which they have approached this case. As we move forward through this process, we will remain focused on collaborating with our partners and supporting product innovation to benefit Microsoft customers. We will support European governments on the pressing issues that face us all: computer security, spam, education and IT skills training. And we will help increasing Europe's competitiveness in the technology field, creating an information society and making sure that the online environment in which that society will thrive is safe for everyone. We will keep you informed of developments as the process moves forward. Yours sincerely, Allison Watson Vice President, Worldwide Partner Sales and Marketing Group Source: Email //EDIT// Will someone edit the title and change the second to, to on, thanks

Try this: Make sure on all 3 pc's that in the system properties, allow remote assistance invitations to be sent from this computer are checked, NOTE make sure you uncheck this computer may be controlled remotely if you don't want to use remote desktop. I know this was an issue for me to see the other pc's from my XPpro machine's. Then also remember windows workgroup networking is very slow compared to AD, and it takes a minute to see all the other computers.
