Easy peasey go to Note make sure that you can "see" all your hidden files..... my computer/your "C" drive/Documents and settings/"your" account name folder/Local settings (Should be a hidden folder)/application data/Microsoft/Outlook/Then the office data file this should be of a reasonable size. copy this to a pen or storage medium. reinstall your opps system and office apps. then create the outlook account again. when done just repeat the steps above and overright the file with the backed up one. you can do an import export but this is the best as it gets everything as before. do this all the time especially when synking between desktop and laptops.. hope that helps

Coconut could be spot on. I had similar problems this last few weeks BSOD all over the place. Finally my PSU litterally blew up taking the mobo out as well. I suggest you URGENTLY exchange your PSU. Hint Make sure that the PSU has enough woumph on the 12v + rail of at least 28amps. never mind the watts it means nothing I just bought an 380w antec from e-buyer and a 600w e-buyer special. no comparison at all the antec blows the 600w away. buy the best you can afford. hope that helps

well expected to receive my antec psu this last friday but delivery didn't happen over the weekend soooo I had to use e-buyers 600w psu - honest to god - what a joke 17amp on the +12v rail WTF. So I had no choice but to try this with the new mobo. carefully rebuilt and wha ho it works again. bit of trouble in the mobo recognising the usb2 ports tried everything in the end I formatted the c and reinstalled win2k (been meaning to do this anyway for a while now - so perfect excuse)and everything worked a treat even the usb2 ports recognised OK. Just heard that mt antec PSU arrived this morning but can't install it till weekend. believe that its about twice weight of e-buyers psu. as long as you are aware of the capabilities of these cheap psu's then its OK! Now I have to test my psu's with a gadget called ATX tester cost about £tenner all in inc p+P. could be worth it to eliminate a specific problem. then I'll build up a little test bed for the 'fried' mobo's to see if they are goosed or what. Agree with the rock about Microsoft AntiSpyware and SpyBot S&D I also use those programs. as a matter of fact you may care to know that I installed M$ Antispy ware a while back and had to rebuild my pc this weekend - fried psu and mobo - different story. anyways I tried to run M$ antispyware and when tried it said that this version was now out of date. so I went to M$ site and downloaded the latest version - just to be safe. not sure if it did install any later version or what but worth mentioning. also use spyware blaster - another good to have tool for those sickos out there
-
Checked my version. I always download from the official website whenever I can its same as the rocks 1.06r1

it was a JEANTECH from PC World. Cost me an arm and a leg 'cos I needed it now! I ordered a 600w psu from E_Buyer but did some research and found I had bought a load of C$%p! So I reordered a Antec Truepower 380watt psu. this is supposed to have enough guts to pump out enought amps on the +12v rail. should receive the items today so eagerly await to see whats fried and whats OK. let you know the results when its all rebuilt.

One afternoon at Cheers, Cliff Clavin was explaining the Buffalo to his buddy Norm. Here's how it went: Well ya see, Norm, it's like this... A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members. In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, as we know, kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers." B)

rikgale. thanks for the useful advice. Don't hold out much hope then. lets hope that its only the mobo and psu gone for a burton. else its getting to be a new system and I do like tinkering

IcemanND very nice little app. found windowx xp no probs no office 2k any news on when this might happen. will be awesum then!

Ok. If I set up a working PSU to the suspect motherboard what else should I connect to check that the MOBO works OK. Don't wanna install everything just to test MOBO working or not. so what minimum I can get away with

seems a reasonable request from my point of view.
