windows 2K and up support multiple monitors on multiple cards as long as the card's drivers support that feature.

swap out your NIC. I have seen bad NICs cause this problem.

in icw you can admin what PC's have access to and even what apps have access to the internet.

do you have your AGP drivers installed? Should be a listing for Something like SiS Accellerated Graphics Port or what not depending upon your Chipset.

the drivers will install and function (limited) without issues if you do not have your chipset drivers installed. I have my install CD point to the SiS folder first and then the ATI folder

before you go through all of that, try enabling windows image aquisition service. it is disabled by default

you should just activate it like everyone else. I activated my copy and it works very well indeed so far 1 month and no issues

yes it works without issues rage3d tweak has limited functionality overlcocker and custom display modes work but not the d3d or ogl tweaks

assign your network card an IP address. That will speed up the login process considerably

daveh, 1. Video was moved from the user level to the system level in NT 4.0 that is why it is so much faster in NT 4 2. NT 4 could very easily support any version of DX all the way up to 9. Matter of fact you can play UT 2K3 on NT 4 using OGL if you wanted to ( I played with a hacked exe that does not do any CD check) Most if not all of your OGL games would run under NT 4 without issues Quake II Quake III Unreal (OGL) Unreal Tournament (OGL) A lot of older DX games would run under NT 4 as well Jazz Jackrabbit Atomic Bomberman Asteroids 3. When MS made NT 3.0 they had a basic idea of what they wanted NTFS to be and did indeed build some future support into the file system like Quotas, Encryption, advanced permissions, etc except they just were not used. There are several people that have done a detailed analysis of the file system.... NT 4 is a very powerful operating system but unfortunately for it, it's PNP support was very crude and MS was switching to a 3 year product cycle. ok here is what I did 1. installed Win 2K3 server 2. Installed Radeon Drivers 3. Installed Radeon Secondary display drivers 4. Enabled full hardware accelleration on display properties troubleshooting tab 5. installed DX 9.0b 6. enabled D3D AGP and DD accelleration installed control panel

man that "because it's a server OS crap does not cut it" as the one person mentioned it is all about licensing the product. any id*** knows that the cores for workstation and server are identical. it is only a few files on the CD such as setupreg.hiv that determine what OS you are going to install. With the new Windows server 2K3, there is only 1 image that they use and it is indeed the setupreg.hiv file that determines what server you get web standard or enterprise. although MS has distribued some version specific CDs....(I have a Enterprise server CD but my installation thinks it is a standard edition since I edited the above mentioned file before installing it)

when I worked for the pennzoil help desk, we used norton ghost on our win 2K cd's. It was as automated as you could get. Insert 1st CD, come back in 5 mins insert 2nd CD come back in 5 mins. reboot and add PC to network. Win 2K Office 2K all applications used by company

OK guys let me spell this out for you 1. Windows XP is a subset of the Win 2K core 2. Windows XP and 2K3 have their own built in PPPOE Clients I want to take the PPPOE client from my Win 2K3 server and intergrate it into Win 2K workstation. The google link gives me all of the 3rd party solutions and as I stated above I do not want to use a 3rd party solution.

Here is a task for someone who has XP and 2K. How can I install XP's PPPOE client into WIn 2K so I do NOT have to use a 3rd party dialer.........

Win 2K3 with catalyst 3.6 and everything works like a charm. it is fast it is stable and all my video's play without any troubles ATi>Nvidia expecially once you get the Nvidia drivers to quit cheating............... 1600*1200*32 with 16x ansio along with 6x MultiSample FSAA anyone? something that nVIdia cannot do............
