  9. I have an XP CD that I made 12 months ago, that replaces most of the pretty files(bmp's, theme's, user dll's, etc) and some dll's that doesn't give the errors you mention even though it doesn't use a WINNT.SIF. See below for an image, thats how it looks on 1st boot after installing normally, no batchs or unattends. Here is the setuperr.log from that install. If you notice that out of all the files I replaced (some 100+) it is only the dll's and exe's that get logged Error: Setup detected that the system file named [c:\windows\system32\logon.scr] is not signed properly by Microsoft. This file could not be restored to the correct Microsoft version. Use the SFC utility to verify the integrity of the file. *** Error: Setup detected that the system file named [c:\windows\system32\logonui.exe] is not signed properly by Microsoft. 10. if you delete something then make sure that you remove it from the DOSNET.INF file as well
  11. i got office on my CD without delete them files in the above post!
  12. ie6setup.exe /Q:A /R:N will do it but all files need to be in the folder where you run the ie6setup.exe from. Just run it from command prompt with the switch.
  13. Do you mean in an Unattended Install of windows or just IE6 unattended?
  14. Sygate is a good Firewall to have if you like it.
  15. i was the first to replace stuff in the i386 directory and SOME files are signed but not all files the important ones like scf_os.dll, uxtheme.dll if all files were signed then how can i replace notepad, explorer, iexplore, shell32.dll and some on which i had done. Can you send or post a copy of that log so i can see it as all my logs get deleted when i run my install update
  16. i have made a little guide for People its here i have test and it works ok Windows 2000 Unattended
  17. if you are using Windows XP why bother with DirectX8 when you can have DirectX9b?
  18. you can but its a pain in the arse to do. the only person i think who got it to work was webmedic but he's not around much these days.
  19. set up a Scheduled Tasks thing and set it to run sliently in the background for maintanice use Auto Update for the Windows Updates not sure on the programs mind
  20. you got the winnt.sif bit right all you need in the winnt.sif is that bit for your theme file as long as it is not a .mssyltes theme file. if you put you theme under install\themes then add a command that gets your setup method to copy the theme to the "%WinDir%\Resources\Themes" folder on the C:\ drive "%WinDir%\Resources\Themes" just use that if your are using the batch file method and it will work.
  21. Shell32.dll does not have a digitally sig on it.
  22. open command prompt and do this: makecab shell32.dll make sure that command prompt is pointing to the directory where the shell32.dll is and then place it in the i386 directory of your XPCD. Note make sure the file you place in the i386 dir is the cab file you just made.
  23. Microsoft Windows 2000 Unattended Quick Guide for people who wish to make a Unattended Windows 2000 CD Setup! Lets start with copying your windows 2000 pro cd to a folder on C:\ called Win2k and then remove the folders called VALUEADD, SUPPORT, SETUPTXT, DISCOVER & BOOTDISK and then you can remove these folder for the i386 folder LANG, COMPDATA, WIN9XMIG, WIN9XUPG and WINNTUPG. This should leave you with about 189MB of Windows Files. Now we need to get some files to help setup the Windows 2000 Unattended CD. Download Here <----This File contains the setupmgr.exe to make your Unattended Answer File, deptool.chm the help guide for the Windows 2000 Unattended CD and an Example WINNT.SIF file to help you with your CD. Also the file called unattend.doc contains information on different values for the WINNT.SIF, and they is a Win2k_Pro ISO Image it the download to make your CD bootable. The Winnt.sif Here is an example Winnt.sif for you to look that and see how to make your own. ;SetupMgrTag [Data] AutoPartition=0 MsDosInitiated="0" UnattendedInstall="Yes" [Unattended] UnattendMode=FullUnattended OemSkipEula=Yes OemPreinstall=Yes TargetPath=\WINNT DriverSigningPolicy=Igorne OemPnPDriversPath=drivers\001;drivers\002;drivers\003 [GuiUnattended] AdminPassword=* AutoLogon=Yes AutoLogonCount=1 OEMSkipRegional=1 TimeZone=85 OemSkipWelcome=1 [UserData] FullName="Your Name" OrgName=Org Name ComputerName=Your Computer Name ProductID=*****-*****-*****-*****-***** [Display] BitsPerPel=32 Xresolution=800 YResolution=600 [TapiLocation] CountryCode=44 Dialing=Tone AreaCode=0116 [RegionalSettings] LanguageGroup=1 SystemLocale=00000809 UserLocale=00000809 InputLocale=0809:00000809 [Identification] JoinWorkgroup=Your Workgroup [Networking] InstallDefaultComponents=Yes This winnt.sif has been made so that you can install your other applications using the Windows Update Method. In your win2k directory where you placed your win2k setup files make your $OEM$\$1\Install folder for your applications like in the Windows XP Unattended Setup. And also to include your drives make the folder $OEM$\$1\drivers like in the Windows XP Unattended Setup. Now Slipstreaming the SP4 service pack to your Win2k Unattended CD this can be found HERE all that remains is the hotfixes but i do not know of a method to do that yet will update when i have tested some methods. Its seems that cmdlines.txt is supported in Windows 2000 so you dont need i bacth file under [GuiRunOnce]. Now to install your applications make a cmdlines.txt in the $OEM$ directory and add this to it [COMMANDS] ".\install.CMD" ::NOTE:: to add a user account add this extra line to the cmdlines.txt. ".\user.cmd" To use the Windows Update Method that Fisrt boot we must now make a file called install.cmd in the $OEM$ folder in that file add this: CLS @echo off ECHO. ECHO Adding Windows Update Method REGEDIT /S %systemdrive%\install\Setup.reg ECHO. ::NOTE:: to make a user account make another file called user.cmd in the $OEM$ directory folder and add this to it: CLS @echo off ECHO. ECHO Adding User Your Name... net user Your Name /add net localgroup "administrators" Your Name /add ECHO. Where is says your name put your name for the user account. Next to make your applications install we need a file called setup.reg to create a setup.reg open notepad and put this that the top and then save it in the $OEM$\$1\Install folder. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnceEx] Title = "Unattended CD Setup" Here is an example of how to install applications just add this as the next line to install your application but you will need to edit the path to the program and the Program name to fit your needs [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnceEx\zz110] "1"="C:\\Install\\DirectX9b\\dxsetup.exe /opk" @="DirectX 9b" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnceEx\zz120] "1"="C:\\Install\\NetFramework\\netfx.msi /QN" @="Dot NET Framework v1.1" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnceEx\zz130] "1"="C:\\Install\\Sygate\\setup.exe -r" @="Sygate Personal Firewall" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnceEx\zz140] "1"="C:\\Install\\NAV\\NAVCE.MSI /QB" @="NAV Corp v7.6"
  24. Thanks that just want i needed and now to the hotfixes P.S. i will send you a copy when the hotfixes are done so you can see there its going.
