  1. will i have been using Win2k's setup.exe and its the same problem.
  2. that what i thought fisrt time but i get "cannt perform cyclo" copy or something like that.?
  3. sounds interesting... so you don't have to mess with the txtsetup.sif-file and just drop the drivers in this folder? can anyone confirm this? Im gonna try anyway - ive only just formatted my pc after failing to get my SATA drivers integrated onto the custom WinXP cd! edit: looks like it doesnt work Another cd wasted :/ i think you need more than just the drivers to use this folder i will look in to it more and instead of uing CD's get a trail of Virtual PC and the bootable ISO images.
  4. put all he files in a bootbale iso if its a CD if not setup the bootable image but dont change it to a ISO9600 format.
  5. you mean create a folder somethere (anydrive) place the script in that folder then copy your xpcd to the folder called xpsetup and then in the same folder crate folders called DirectX9b MSN6 etc and then it would make the unattended CD and also make it bootable and ready to burn cd
  6. i got some of it working but one thing i am not sure on is how to tell it to copy from the CDROM drive as many people have different drive letters?
  7. Hey Guys i am bored so i thought i might create a script that copied your windows xp disk to your HDD,then slipstream SP1 or SP2 to your XPCD and add all your files and did all setup information for you and all you need to do is edit the winnt.sif when its done to add your cd-key etc... and put all needed files in a folder called xpsetup (e.g. DirectX9b, WMP9, MM2 etc...) to save time for you people.
  8. For anyone who is interested i found some other stuff which you can put in the $OEM$ folder: \$OEM$\Textmode Contains updated mass storage drivers and HAL files required during the text-mode portion of Setup. \$OEM$\$$\Help Contains custom Help files that Setup copies to the %Windir%\Help folder during installation. \$OEM$\$1\SysPrep Contains files that Setup uses for the Sysprep-based method of installation. \$OEM$\drive_letter Represents the root of a particular volume on the system (e.g., \$OEM$\C represents the C: drive) and contains any files that WinXP Setup should copy to this partition during installation. \$OEM$\drive_letter\subfolder Represents a particular subfolder of the drive (e.g., \$OEM$\C\MyFolder) and contains any files that Setup should copy to the subfolder during installation. Multiple instances of this type of folder can exist under the \$OEM$\drive_letter folder.

  15. i would think that it would be much the same as Windows XP unattended but without the games and system restore........not sure how to include the games i think you would need the files from xp and place them in the i386 and edit the hive files + dosnet.inf
