  1. Never had a problem with it.
  2. Personnally, I will stick with XP for a long time. Finnaly we got a stable OS. Off course that Vista will bring many new things, however, like someone said on the aboce post, Ill problably wait a year or so, until I finnaly update my computers. XP with no bloat is perfect.
  3. Im not even gonna answer this...!
  4. Thats what I did also. I have a pack with only the critical and replaced by new versions of hotfixes. About winver, no. It wont help on the newer version thing we talked about. If your interested in the critical hotfixes only, and not using RyanVM pack, maybe you should try Astalavista's pack (link on my sig). He only uses the critical ones and has a little .CMD file for integration and post installation install of his hotfixes. However, I dont think he replaced the ones I mentioned on my previous post.
  5. me too
  6. lolol. funny stuff
  7. Really like your idea Martin L ... Hope this project gets done!
  8. Its like this, knowing what Hotfixes are in your HF folder, is YOUR job, and your the one that should be aware of newer versions and replaced hotfixes. If you dont use RyanVM pack, wich I think you should, going to Microsoft site and read information about the Hotfixes is your only solution. Everytime a hotfix is released, it says on Microsoft site, if he is replacing an older one or not. I have a pack of updates I made for personnel use, however, it only includes Critical Hotfixes. Let me know if you need it. About your 2nd question. Yes, is is possible. However, you will be adding older hotfixes that problably were already replaced for newer verions. An example, is this months hotfixes. 902400 replaced 873333, 900725 replaced 893086 and 905749 replaced 899588. Hope this helps.
  9. As you can see, English is not my native language, therefor I didnt understand exactly what you wanted. However, if you want to make a script to shutdown a computador, all you have to do is something like this: shutdown -p And save the .txt file as .CMD Hope this helps.
  10. Ok. After selecting 6 of the new Hotfixes that were released (I only selected 6, cause thats the ones I need), I got the following results. Updates I selected: 904706 902400 900725 901017 905749 905414 The ones that got replaced: 902400 replaced 873333 900725 replaced 893086 905749 replaced 899588 Incroyable HULK tested on a clean install, and they still show up on WU list, so replace them at your own risk. However, if someone could try again on a clean install, with them replaced by the new ones, we could see if the replacements are doing his job or not. Cya all. EDIT: This is for XP PRO SP2
  11. The thing is that I get the list from Windows Update on a clean install under simulation... so if the hotfixes are showing up on Windows Update, I keep them on the list... no matter what. Exactly. Ill download em all too. Like you said, if they are still showing on WU better keep em all!
  12. Can someone please make a clear post of wich Hotfixes have been replaced!? Thanks all!
  13. Still waiting to know wich ones were replaced.
  14. Like always, great guide Bold_Fortune.

Welcome. Hope you guys enjoy it!
  16. Guys, heres the thing. A friend of mine needs an aplication to install on his brother computer (in case there no need to install, even better. something like remote control) in order to limit his bandwidth. He only wants to "give" his brother 50Kbs down, and 10Kbs up. Is there such thing? Thanks all!
  17. Martin L is right! Have to keep the software they want totally sucks!
  18. Can anyone make a .RAR with the new Hotfixes and host it on rapidshare? I know ... Im lazzy! EDIT: Ohh, and .. Can someone please make a clear post of wich Hotfixes are being replaced by newer versions? Its still a bit confusing on the previous posts.
  19. Exactly. If you want a Share do be hidden just use $. It will do the trick. I also suggest you use Computer Managment (Right Click My Computer, Manage) to do your shares. I dont think you can do what you want. However, using Group Policies, you can do a safe share. Limiting access to folder for certain users.
  20. LOLOL. Pretty cool!
  21. I didnt understood the problem very well. However, a workgroup only supports until 10 computers. More than 10 could cause problems.
  22. does anyone confirm if using the HFSlip works?
  23. Yes. The check box you are talking about is located on the Advanced tab. However, the permissions will be henrerited by default.
  24. VMware ... Way faster than VPC
  25. I dont know about that one. But I bought a Radeon 9800 PRO Sapphire Ultimate and the thing works like a charm. What I can advise you is that you remove the stock cooler and replace it with a better one. I have done that with my 9600 PRO and its working fine. My VGA Card with current Cooler Size of the stock cooler Kinda looks like the one thats comes with the one at newegg. Cya buddy!
