XP is installed in C: drive (primary partition) from XP the drive letter is H:(logical drive in extended partition) i installed vlited (1.0b) ultimate (with all updates peimg'ed) from dvdrw on desktop, the C drive is changed vista's drive (originally H: from XP ) is now C: and rest follows so XP become D: drive ?? is this behaviour normal ???

Noo the wallpaper wen booted from dvd is surely in WinPE and after booting from dvd the setup runs from X:\sources\setup.exe

@AMIT u need to edit those files in boot.wim boot.wim contains 2 images 1st is tha bootable WinPe image and 2nd contains the same as tha dvd contains (except boot.wim & install.wim ) {i think so} so u wanna change that fins the required files in those wim images

i m facing big memory leaking issue for firefox for nlited s/m it works normally when net not is connected when connected it starts memory eating and i cant eve close the app only way to end that is to restart the s/m Last_Session__205303.03_19.55.22_.ini

same applies for Home basic too just mount the DVD image with Deamon Tools run setup answer the qns, anter cdkey (or leave for later) when said reboot just do that it contiues

try disabling pagefile and in boot.ini /NoExexcute=alwaysOff

okay boot from vista dvd select repair click command propmt create "boot" folder in C: drive (w/o quotes) copy fonts folder to this folder from dvd copy the file "bcd" to boot folder then run bcdedit with this bcd store and edit for u r system

when C: is formatted it nolonger contains bcd data (in Boot folder) so bootsect not going to work from XP copy the Boot folder from DVD to C: copy bcdedit.exe to system32 of XP (for easy access anywhere in XP open cmd type bcdedit it shows the current bcd data if u know how to use bcdedit , then create bcd Configuration store entries for u r required OS otherwise use Vistaboot pro to create configrations then do the bootsect /nt60 /C: Reboot and check it works

sometimes the physical layout of the required setup files is beyond 4GB limit i got bcd error with a 4.3gb iso (win RE and WIN PE images in it) then using ultraISO i ordered the files storing preference after that the prob solved
