  1. Yes, I can test it myself, but it will take quite much time since I don't want to waste 1 more spore installation ~.~ So the questions are as topic says: 1) Does DRM removal make Spore unplayable? 2) Does Media Center removal make Lost Planet (EC:CE) unplayable? Thanks.
  2. I'm more than sure it is not about WLAN... I was getting this loop because of Bitlocker Extras integration, and the funny thing it was fixed not by making less removements, but by making MORE removements, I didn't have time to check which one though.. My guess is system restore or event viewer
  3. So, every part of CS3 installs just good, but Acrobat gives an error without any real description - just "failed to install". My opinion that it's related to printer support - acrobat installs a PDF maker which is actually a printer. But this might be wrong, it takes very much time to test, coz CS3 installation takes even more time than Vista itself... Any thoughts?
  4. Well I believe then there should be a reminder that IE is "needed for: microsoft update"
  5. Hey, I've just noticed that I don't have "Intel Indeo" and "16-bit support" in my MSDN Vista Sp1 x64 English image. My guess is 16-bit support is not even included in x64 version, but Intel Indeo? Does anyone else have this problem?
  6. Is it possible to make this link work or somehow bypass it? I've removed IE and even when I use the IE-engine plugin for Opera and go to http://www.update.microsoft.com/microsoftu...v6/default.aspx it let's me press "install", choose whether to change updates setting etc, but the it just gives me the following error: So, how can I make windows update install updates for other MS products now? Do I have to leave IE?
  7. I don't have any evidence yet but I'm working on it right now. I am 100% sure it has something to do with some additions in 1.2b and 1.2RC. Because with exact same updates and components removed using 1.1.6 - no problems (also no problems installing new updates already in new system) even with LOTS of major stuff removed. The same set of updates and components won't work with 1.2, I've already tested it but don't remember exact settings and don't have presets. Please Nuhi check this - could this be somehow related with different behavior of this "pending" file? Maybe it was automatically removed in 1.1.6?

  9. Hello there! Well, according to search results this problem was already discussed, but still it's not rly solved yet. When I try cutting off even the minor junk AND integrating updates, I get a reboot-loop saying "configuring updates: stage 3 of 3" after the installation. If I do not integrate updates with the same build it installs correctly, but right after I turn on automatic updates and reboot pc, it starts this loop anyway. I've tryed to keep almost everything and now I'm cutting only such minor junk like languages, drivers and hardware support only - keeping all that major junk like uac, protector etc. What's the problem? If the problem was in one of the updates then it would solve itself by not integrating it, but still even if I don't integrate, windows update should find updates only for needed things, and even if it does find some updates that cannot be installed, it should give me an error, not a system-killing reboot-loop. Any ideas?
  10. Man, read my post one more time. I've already told about this command, but! Is there a way to add this BCDEDIT command into unattended install, so this command will be already applied during the installation so I won't recive all these annoying popups?
  11. Hi. First of all I want you to excuse me for my terrible english - I can't have enough real practice ("real" = smth more than reading books and watching movies only in English ) I'm really stuck. You know, there's an audio-devices manufacturer "Realtek", they provide only 1 Vista driver for their integrated audio AC97. They say it's WHQL, but I've tried to open .cat file... Well, the security catalog viewer tells me that the signature is invalid. :\ I've tried to integrate this driver among with some other WHQL drivers using vLite. Please notice that this was the ONLY non-WHQL driver in my installation. I've got the "unsigned driver"-prompting smth like 40 times. :\ So, the questions are: 1) Is there a way to disable security checks right from vLite or just editing autounattended.xml (maybe there is somthing similar to "bcdedit /set nointegritychecks on")? 2) Is there a way to trick this checker, adding some fake .cat signature? 3) Why could the signature be invalid in "official WHQL driver"? Thanks in advance! And thanks nuhi for his great job.
