  1. Good! In this case we (at least) know who will read through our communications! That VPN is supposedly aimed to use SHA 2, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SHA-2 SHA-2 (Secure Hash Algorithm 2) is a set of cryptographic hash functions designed by the United States National Security Agency (NSA), NSA are the good guys, I don't mind them reading my emails, I don't plot against America.
  2. "Chrome developers disabled Canvas HW Accel for XP (the artcile is about 12 years old!), it calls Direct3DCreate9Ex from d3d9.dll which is DirectX 9L available only on Vista+, but it is possible to wrap D3D9Ex on Windows XP via WineD3D Direct3D to OpenGL wrapper. (special thanks to WineHQ/Crossover) Then we need to disable blacklist and disable sandbox in launch options." https://stackoverflow.com/questions/15073593/does-chrome-support-gpu-hardware-acceleration-for-the-2d-canvas-under-windows-xp
  3. Solved! Update to Chromium 126.0.6478.55 "extensions-manifestv2: This patch will be used to deal with the manifestv2 phaseout changes" https://github.com/ungoogled-software/ungoogled-chromium/pull/2902
  4. Why private? You aren't hiding anything from us, by any chance, are you?
  5. DirectAccess is the latest feature to hit the list of deprecated features in Windows client and server editions. For those unfamiliar, DirectAccess was introduced in Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 as a new method for clients to connect to their corporate networks without installing a VPN. However, with time, Microsoft developed new network capabilities to improve the experience, and now it is ready to replace DirectAccess with a better alternative. According to the official documentation, Microsoft suggests migrating from DirectAccess to Always On VPN: DirectAccess is deprecated and will be removed in a future release of Windows. We recommend migrating from DirectAccess to Always On VPN. Microsoft has a dedicated page that describes why users should move from DirectAccess to Always On VPN and how IT admins can implement the change. You can check it out on the official Microsoft Learn website. Besides DirectAccess and NTLM, in 2024, Microsoft deprecated Driver Verifier GUI, NPLogonNotify and NPPPasswordChangeNotify APIs, TLS server authentication with short RSA keys, and Test Base for Microsoft 365. As a reminder, deprecated and removed features are not the same. Components that are no longer in active development may remain in the operating system for a while and even continue to work. However, they do not receive new functionality or fixes. Eventually, Microsoft deletes them from Windows, as was the case with WordPad, which is no longer part of the upcoming Windows 11 version 24H2 update. You can track the list of deprecated features in client Windows versions here. Recently, we also published a list of features Microsoft no longer develops in Windows Server 2025, so check it out here. 6. And we have ZERO interest of reading spammy, off-topic posts like this, here at MSFN.
  7. Yes, but only if you want to have the extensions left, cookies aren't allowed to be transferred anyways!!! I just tried with a site similar to a forum, I copied the browser with this flag to another PC, Cookie became invalid, and I was forced to fully login!
  8. Encryption creates a unique ID of your machine, it's used for fingerprinting. For example, Thorium developer can trace you by the logs. It's very convenient for devs to see which machine generated an error. In Brave and other Chromes it's used in guinea pigs "variations" tests. Google what it is.
  9. I have an explanation. When real capitalists ran the West, everything was fine. Nowadays commies ran the majority of all businesses. I was in shock when discovered they only allow you to buy the exact (low) amount of items in America! Like 3 CPUs in one hands. They started to shove down our throats those limits rather recently. It's not capitalism. It's freaking Soviet Union! In real capitalism you buy whatever amount you want!
  10. The World's populace numbers are terrible, agree. "Thanks" to China, Russia, Latin America, Africa and India. I'm in shock how fast they grew in size in the last 30 years, of course if they don't stop to overpopulate the Earth, something terrible will happen to the planet. There's literally no place for animals anymore! In Europe, most of the land is occupied with farms. Thankfully, the locals don't spawn here like rabbits.
  11. What's UXP browsers? Something for Xeon Processors only?
  12. Of course not! But the amount of times we read it, oh boy... Besides, telling it simply makes no sense since it's already publicly known we're on old "insecure" OS. P.S. I want, and always preferred, strictly about the subject posts.
  13. Ethics on this forum doesn't allow to use such references in regards of old OS, MSFN is a home for old OS fans. Probably, you still don't know that? For example DAVE, our respected moderator, uses XP on his daily basis, I use Vista.
  14. Did you specifically try Driver signing bypass dseo13b.exe?
  15. Yes, I was too under the impression we shall be seeing our dear friend @Nokiamies more often!
  16. It's more of a trend, not a bug, It happens in new Chrome, also.
  17. Signing tools also don't work?
  18. 1ghz dual core with 2 or 4Gb of ram for Windows 11 IoT LTSC??!? Is this a joke?
  19. Also looks like a purely American Invention, I just found a 2014 article with a budget Fujitsu Lifebook E544, it had a DVD drive, despite being very thin for 2014, and two DVDs included: "driver DVD and recovery DVDs for both Windows 7 and 8.1 were included." https://www.notebookcheck.net/Fujitsu-Lifebook-E544-Notebook-Review.132628.0.html
  20. And yes, @Tripredacus is absolutely right! Windows 7 was also distributed as RTM with SP1 (at least with Fujitsu, see the image below).
  21. That's an American "invention", all of my Siemens (later branded as just Fujitsu, made in Germany) computers (desktops and laptops) came with physical media. LOVE THAT! The tradition went on even with Win 7, not sure about 8 and later.
  22. I read about it in 1982, they said it would've happened in 1990. And no, I'm not a climate change denier.
  23. That link was supplied by @UCyborg. I never heard of it before. I don't know whether it's official or not. Nothing to worry about. No illegal content there.
  24. Funny, but to be fair, look at this site, seems brighter than others. https://win32subsystem.live/supermium/
  25. Like I already explained, it's something very strange because the page had been cleansed out completely, they made it look like nothing ever was there. We all need to demand explanations. And like Dixel said, win32 please get back.
