  1. Hi and welcome , @Anonymous76 ! First of all , Windows 7 is much slower than Vista (no surprise here). Your CPU is just too slow to handle a million of modern updates with Win 7 . Updates slow down any computer , I'm sure our very experienced user @Gansangriff will agree . What you may try . 1 - Get back to Vista (obviously). 2 -If you want (need/like) Win-7 that much : Install it without SP1 . Just "Windows 7 RTM Build 7600". SP1 gives nothing but bloat . There are plenty of users complaining about slowdowns after their installation of SP1. Also , I would suggest to install 32-bit Win-7 on that computer and disable updates (yes , my opininon from a huge experience). You can , of course , install some updates manually , only the ones you really need/want. 3 - Get Windows Vista 64-bit and install Extended Kernel by @win32 . For that you will need this only one update KB4467700-x64 insatalled before the kernel. If you play DX11 games - you need to install KB2117917 and KB971512. That's it ! You can also install VC redist 2015 and Framework 4.5 . You do not need anything else, if you don't click suspicious links.
  2. I see , but you made me laugh (in a good sense) , not laughing at you . I mean it was funny . Thank you !
  3. Look here. https://drivers.softpedia.com/get/GRAPHICS-BOARD/INTEL/Intel-HD-Graphics-4000-Driver-918103222-64-bit.shtml
  4. One year ? I can't imagine how one year old one (or even zero-year old) opens a CD box , places it onto a CD tray and just enjoys techno music , not to mention going to a club in 1999.
  5. Well , that's a damn good reason to get back to Vista ! I will send you the link to get Vista drivers . For the future , I'm guessing Texas has plenty of shops with affordable external storage solutions , so just buy an external HDD , USB stick or whatever you desire and copy your drivers/files there . Better to have at least two backups. Or just burn them onto a DVD (worst case scenario).
  6. you're welcome , be sure to rename it to crashreporter.exe , NOT to crashreporter.exe.txt.
  7. @THK2003 , WerRegisterRuntimeExceptionModule function registers a custom runtime exception handler that is used to provide custom error reporting for crashes. The key words are "error reporting" , so this is yet another spying "feature" . Absolutely not needed . Try replacing crashreporter.exe with a blank file. Create an empty txt file . Rename it from "New Text Document.txt" to crashreporter.exe and replace. Actually, you can replace all *.exe files in the firefox folder, except the firefox.exe itself.
  8. Actually this is my discovery, so should be polite to mention me. And I still do not have any answers why the much beloved russian (KGB or not) repackers "missed" out that important part completely. I mean , c'mon , russians are so cool at hacking (that's what they tell us on TV , no ?) , so how come they didn't "notice" ? Actually, they "missed" out lots of telemetry parts and codes generated by 360 Chromium to link each user to the PC he's using at the moment and much , much more... https://msfn.org/board/topic/182304-extreme-explorer-360-chromium-78-86-general-discussion/page/15/?tab=comments#comment-1194253
  9. On the contrary , it was interesting to know what other people feel today/felt back in the day. You can always share with me. Yeah , lots of emotions , I agree , though I'm not emotional myself and even I always remember that times like it was something from some other world (in a good sense). So you're from the late 90's period .... I skipped that part completely due to the worsened music . I started as an ordinary DJ in the early 1994. Later I had a small club of my own, but the music/style just went bad , the club had became flooded with junkies , I fed up with it and quit in 1996 , I think it was November - December . I'm not sure why , but it wasn't the case in 1994 , people became different ? I dunno . Trance ... yeah , right : 1997 it's when the trance began to kick in (without me) xD . But, yeah , there are some good trance things , I just prefer the older ones . In 2012 I started clubbing again, mainly because I wanted to find a yonger GF (sorry for a slight off-topic) , well I succeeded , sorta ... 'cause somewhere in 2018/19 I felt the urge to find a younger GF again , but this damn "virus" began and all those restrictions , so I'm kinda in your shoes , I try not to go out without the real need , etc. Back to 2012 , I just tried to ignore what was played , of course it was nothing like the 90s and it will never be. Yeah , I miss that times , and I miss my Roland JW-50 !
  10. Whatever suits you ! I respect you choice , even though I shall not follow your example .
  11. For a casual user , Universal Extractor helps , usually .
  12. It's just not possible . Windows Vista would be the fastest . XP is too old and simply does miss most of the things needed today : DWM , DX10/11 , HD Audio support , like DTS-HD MA and the such (please forgive me , XP-lovers , I really tried ). Windows 7 is super-duper slow and should be mocked wherever possible , maybe even slower than 8/10 , I agree. Windows 8/8.1 is a mobile OS , so absolutely another story.
  13. Apologies accepted , peace. Yes , I told that before , it is not my default browser. But it may very well become one in the future , once I remove the rest of the bloat. Why ? I'm looking for a solid browser without the need of the Vista's extended kernel because I use Vista without it . As of now , I wrote a programme that launches it in "sandbox mode". Why in quotes ? Because it's not as simple as it may seem , it is actually a hybrid mode with many features disabled/enabled , somewhat similar to what developers do when testing browsers. For example , this programme disables various code generators in 360's engine and I just can't tell everything because it would be too much to type and I'm not fond of typing . In short , I made it's launch blazingly fast and secure and I will not need to manually hex the .dll each time I want to use another version , since the programme will pass on everything I want to the main.exe . I still need to figure out how to disable some ports that left. I wanted to ask why do you use 2206 and not the first version 11.x.x. ? Do you really think chinese are fixing Chromium bugs ? lol
  14. Also , I do not have anything against you personally , but this seems quite strange (just sayin') , I mean about how you insist on using repacked software from russian websites , typing in CAPS and all . I took a look at that site . It is a common russian warez website with tons of repacked commercial software. Is this even allowed by the moderators to redirect to such websites ?
  15. It really feels like something personal . What do you want to say , smth like "Dixel is giving a bad advice" ?! The poster clearly stated to you that he wants to use the original version and it is too hard for him to download from your link , did you see it ? It is his choice . So I'm giving the advice based on his wishes. It is very obvious, if you use another version (repacked) , the outcome will be different , no ? Errorpage.zip and newtab.zip is not connecting to any websites . lol. By deleting it you simply remove the chinese new tab and error warning in their language . Also , simply replacing 360.cn in Hex Editor won't give you the desired result . It would be too easy , wouldn't it ? You definitely need to dig much deeper . They aren't that silly to just left everything in the open ...

  17. @gerwin , yeah , 344.75 is one of the best ! That's why I mentioned it first . But there are users that just want newer drivers no matter what . I guess there's plenty of folks thinking newer is better . But sometimes we really do need newer ones , so I'd line them up in that order : 344.75, 347.26 , 347.09 , also may look at 361.77. This is the only one from 36.x.x.x. that doesn't have glitches if used with VGA or DVI display and quite fast . And this is it for XP , no more drivers , good or bad. I do not consider 368 driver at all . Why ? 368.81/91 are mega-glitchy , also not supported officially. Do note : 361.77 {sometimes} doesn't play well with HDMI. https://drivers.softpedia.com/get/GRAPHICS-BOARD/NVIDIA/NVIDIA-GeForce-iCafe-Graphics-Driver-36177-for-XP.shtml EDIT : If you're still going to try 347.09 , be sure to use WHQL (not beta), because there are two versions floating around. I actually tried beta ! It is OK , cursor moved so fast , like crazy , folders opened in a nanosecond ! But it had texture problems in one game. This one should be WHQL. https://drivers.softpedia.com/get/GRAPHICS-BOARD/NVIDIA/NVIDIA-GeForce-Graphics-Driver-34709-for-XP.shtml
  18. @Gansangriff : Sorry for this low quality picture , I'm not sure why , but I'm limited to 21.06 kb images only. I certainly can connect to this website , but no such page for me there. If I press "search" , I get the same "no such page". Weird.
  19. It says : "Oops! That page doesn’t exist or is private."
  20. You're welcome , 344 are good for XP . I just wanted to help you as much as I could , but 347 gives me better picture quality and fps with newer games. I test on Titan (700 series) so the experience could be quite different . What can we do about that ? I would definitely suggest a very popular (back in the day it was on top) 347.26 . You will see some very good reviews about it. About later drivers , in my experience , I had plenty of troubles with everything starting from 350 , not only with Vista , but with XP too. Currently I'm testing XP64 RTM and I think 347.26 is the winner . And yes , I too had black screens with newer drivers , but not a single problem with the ones below 350 . I think it depends on the card (chip revision and the such) . For example , driver 362 works ok with the usual Titan , but with Titan that has chip revision B1 it has problems , like you described (black screens). This link is for you, for 32-bit. https://drivers.softpedia.com/get/GRAPHICS-BOARD/NVIDIA/NVIDIA-GeForce-iCafe-Graphics-Driver-34726-for-XP.shtml
  21. Try driver 347.09 . I've got better performance with it using XP64 vs 344.75 . https://drivers.softpedia.com/get/GRAPHICS-BOARD/NVIDIA/NVIDIA-GeForce-Graphics-Driver-34709-for-XP.shtml
  22. Yes , Nvidia iCafe are absolutely official and WHQL . https://www.nvidia.com/en-ph/geforce/icafe-certified-program/ Also , there are rumours saying they are based on Quadro. Do you know where to find v368.91 for XP 64-bit or any other iCafe starting from 347.xx for 64-bit XP , I'd like to try them.

But like they said : "This process is difficult", esp. for beginners , it is better to remove it before , like I suggested. https://www.safer-networking.com/removealexa.php To remove Dr.Watson watch this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CfaohidTEKs
  24. One of the most notorious spies included in WIndows XP , that the previous poster didn't mention, are : 1 - Dr. Watson. It is running and if any Windows application crashes, Dr. Watson creates a report , guess what next. Usually prepared reports go here : C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Dr Watson More regarding this subject : https://hotcomm.com/FAQ/FAQ_drwatson.asp 2 - Alexa - it spies and reports all about the websites you visit . Both can be removed with nLite and/or similar tools. Or just insert this section to your nLite preset during the preparition of the setup. This is only for removing Alexa , 'cause some may still want to use Dr. Watson for debugging. The first three lines are for your own choosing .
