  1. This is really strange because I trust this experienced user @UCyborg . He just helped me with Riva Tuner on Vista . What is their framework level ?
  2. Would also be very good to find a standalone version installer (or portable) of Riva tuner without MSI. I know there's one inside , but I guess not everyone will figure that out. Is there a site with various older versions ? EDIT: Your version works with Vista , thank you lots ! If I don't bother you that much , perhaps you know how to switch OFF this stupid "cannot connect to update server". Of course I blocked it with the firewall , since I can't allow it to update (obviously). Switching off the update checker in the settings doesn't help . EDIT-2 : It really shows fps count only with *some* games , but no crashes like the OP described, so older versions are still needed. EDIT-3 : Quit showing FPS at all . If I look at the main window - it's just stuck at the highest monitor refresh rate. But in the games there is no FPS counter at all. EDIT-4 : Finally got this to work with Vista ! I had to frankenstein the hell outta the both versions . So nevermind , all is OK now. Thanks again for your help.
  3. Thank you , appreciated , will definitely try . And the OP might have a problem with his higher version of framework , like I suggested earlier.
  4. Back to topic : using your PC without a good quality Uninterrupitble Power Supply may lead to damages due to spikes and the such , like this one. P.S. Yes , agreed . I said all private companies . Fedex is a private company with their own stupid rules too . USPS works better , even with all their "minuses" . By the way , all those "independent" private companies use USPS trucks , for the most part. Just search how Amazon uses USPS trucks too. They don't have their own fleet of trucks and waggons.
  5. My Pentium is Haswell . There are Pentium M models in the haswell line , like this one , for example. Pentium 3560 M . https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/81013/intel-pentium-processor-3560m-2m-cache-2-40-ghz.html
  6. jaclaz , I'm terribly sorry . I was talking about Uninterrupitble Power Supply , not the {awful} company UPS . In my opinion, all private companies like DHL Express and UPS are very bad with their own "rules". If you are talking about DHL POST of Germany , then I agree - it is much, much better . I only had one broken box from them . Got damaged somewhere in Leipzig. But the goods (to my surprise) arrived in one piece. EDIT : This is NOT because I don't like private property. I'm just stating the facts gathered from my friends , family and my personal encounters with these companies.
  7. I see , sadly doesn't work with my Pentium M laptop . Maybe it works only with i Core series . In any case , thanks for trying .
  8. Oh , that's bad . I'm kinda gamer too . Are there any other alternatives ? (please not from kaspersky or the such) , thank you.
  9. Totally agree with you . Though some time ago I literally saved a slow notebook with 4GB DDR2 667Mhz memory using a fast external HDD connected via eSATA. It was used for huge video files editing.
  10. I told ya it was RAM . You need to remove all and test with only one module inserted. BTW , RAM testing tools are not good in my opinion. I had a funny case when the guy that was checking my faulty RAM at the store had 100% good test results and then he just couldn't boot into windows ! I also remember some similar case when my DDR2 RAM module no. 1 developed a faulty sector after a couple weeks of usage in a brand new PC . As for the second hand items , never use them in a PC where you do something important . People just do not know how to handle such items , just don't . Most never heard of static electricity and UPS.
  11. Had something similar in 2013 . Turned out to be a defective RAM stick with 4GB capacity Kingston HyperBlu DDR3 1333Mhz Made in Taiwan. The PC had 4x4. P.C. @jaclaz is totally right about SATA cables , they may become bad overtime (high resistant) , or with loose contacts. Actually , I literally hate how weak they are.
  12. I was talking about July 2016 Update only , which was re-released in September. "The July 2016 update rollup for Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 was re-released on September 13, 2016 to address an issue in one of the included updates and to improve the overall reliability of the update rollup. Installing this update requires a restart after installation." https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/july-2016-update-rollup-for-windows-7-sp1-and-windows-server-2008-r2-sp1-296220e7-3116-2462-0ed1-fe1198875ad6
  13. Actually , no. Microsoft says : available from Win 2000. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/ddi/wdm/nf-wdm-interlockedcompareexchange
  14. Says who ? If one has a good HDD - it's absolutely fantastic . Besides , many users have SDD nowadays. Anyway , I tend to disable it too ( in most cases ) because I have quite fast RAM .

  18. Hello , care to share with us on what exactly was modded ? I remember I tried these 5449 and they didn't work even with XP (unmodded).
  19. @UCyborg , please tell us if you know what was the last working version for Windows Vista and 8.1 respectively. Thank you.
  20. And what was the first version's name then ? I'm just curious . As it clearly says that : it "...was re-released on September 13, 2016 to address an issue ... to improve the overall reliability of the update rollup" (so should be at least two versions , right ? I'm gussing the previous one was removed though) https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/july-2016-update-rollup-for-windows-7-sp1-and-windows-server-2008-r2-sp1-296220e7-3116-2462-0ed1-fe1198875ad6
  21. I understand this is funny , but the link was given to him just to look at the original release date. This update is working fine for him and for me too . I did a clean install of Win 7 SP1 to test a programme , then installed this package without any troubles. Today I tried to install another updates manually after this huge package , and I didn't see any errors at all. May be a fresh install in this order : 1- Win7 SP1 , 2 - this big (major) update kb3125574-v4-x64 and 3 - all the newer ones later is a good solution .
  22. You're very welcome to try it with NT 4.0 and Win 98 then and report back to us.
  23. And several other missing functions : InterlockedCompareExchange InterlockedDecrement InterlockedExchange InterlockedIncrement
  24. A quick look at the programme and I see this missing function : K32GetProcessMemoryInfo . I haven't dug any deeper , but this is enough to say they are lying ! I'm wondering what they did to disable it on Windows 8.1.
  25. Hi , I didn't have any notifications , the next time you need to tag a member if you want help. I'd definitely helped you. I'm glad you sorted this out. 344.75 is bullet proof for XP , that's right. I usually suggest it to every XP user.
