It was my main system, until it got replaced. Then I got too lazy to use it anymore -

I usually disable superfetch and readyboost. I keep indexing, because I can sometimes make use of it on a SSD -

Vista is pretty good for me, but I don't think I'll do more experimenting with it until I get a "new" laptop. I've seen fragmented bootup time though. On some installs it's as fast or faster than 7, and on other installs it takes 30+ seconds. -
72 would just be a good test point, to help figure out what is wrong

You could try Waterfox Current, or Classic

Software compatible with Windows Vista Extended Kernel

https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/519646861603241996/764323703097655304/fxchrome-43-fx-windows.zip It's meant for Firefox 43, but I've modified it to install on up to Firefox 56.x. At first glance appears to be fine, but various parts of it are very broken on Firefox 56/Waterfox Classic I'd like it to be ported to work on Firefox 56/Waterfox Classic (Firefox 52/Basilisk/Serpent support as well would be great, but not required) There's a version for Firefox 56, but it was redesigned, and looks big and ugly I've tried modifying the 56.1 version of the theme, but I was unable to get too far because CSS is confusing to me Here's my attempt at it, which is more broken than 43 https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/607182632236875792/769660927963430972/fxchrome-56.1-fx-windows2.zip Not much of the 56.1 CSS was modified, so you might be able to use it as a reference for updating it to work on Firefox 56 -

I don't really want to use a Chromium browser, and especially a Chinese one at that, so do you think you'd be able to update a similar looking Firefox theme for me? -

Does 360 browser really look like that out of the box, or is that a theme? -
Same Also, I don't know why I never posted this here, I thought I did, but I guess not https://www.reddit.com/r/LegacyWindows/wiki/index/windows-vista/various-drivers-for-vista

My Browser Builds (Part 2)
asdf2345 replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
I was able to use MTT to bypass that, and all my old extensions worked fine, but I don't understand why create their own extension format? It sounds less like they want to further XUL development, but instead further their own extension types while making the less knowledgeable users switch to a different browser. I don't think most extension developers would want to break their legacy extensions on other browsers, so I don't think this and the install.rdf changes will go too well. -

I took a look at the addon, because I'd prefer a bootstrapped version, and I wanted to see what I could do with my (non-existant) skills. I noticed that the addon has a .js file, so I tried throwing it into Greasemonkey, and I couldn't get anything to work. Also, I think it'd be an idea to get the other pages working, since the other pages are used all the time by people -

Not bootstrapped Well, as long as it doesn't break often, I'd be alright with that, will try soon -
I think Vista has it's own portcls.sys, but you can check if your Vista install has it

My Browser Builds (Part 2)
asdf2345 replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
Well, Roytam releases so many different browser builds at once, that it'd be impossible for them to test it out, without hiring many different people to test the browsers. -

Yeah, but it's unofficial support, because "most people don't even know what vista is"
