  1. Hello guys. I have an HP compaq nc4010 with some issues with it's infared transceiver. The first issue is that the Infared "Wireless Link" applet in the control panel refuses to open, simply doing nothing upon being clicked. The Second issue is that when attempting to transfer files to or from this HP, the other computer gets the Infared prompt, but this one does not. Attempting anyway on the other computer always ends in "the other machine actively refused it." The infared service is running, and proper drivers appear to be installed. Thanks for any help.
  2. You can enable that login screen on POSready, and probably the other derivatives, too. IIRC it has normal XP branding.
  3. Windows XP Spotted on a cash register! not my picture but when i saw it i knew i needed to post it here!
  4. It's fine. But what browsers exactly should utilize this patch? Should serpent 52 use the FF52 patch or just the usual FF45 version?
  5. You're progressing towards covering what i wanted to do, so: I've set his previous site (rloew1.x10host.com) to redirect to yours. Hopefully that should catch any stragglers. Thanks again for setting yours up.
  6. You'd be right. However BEFORE the store was Napa, the counter was still blue.
  7. Alright, that's cool! I'll also make sure to include a link to rloewelectronics.com when you get that up.
  8. Very. This part of New York State has a lot of Timmies. They built a Dunkin Donuts in town a few years ago, it gets almost no business. Tim's is packed to the road every morning. I hear they don't do so well most other places in the 'States, though. Might be how close I am to the Canadian border having to do with everyone here preferring Canada's Favorite Coffee.
  9. Well after thinking about it, I have come to the conclusion, that (if desired by rloew's family) I have the resources to bring rloew's site back to life. I can update it to have current links to download his projects and stuff like that, as the web archive "sort by author" leaves a bit to be desired. I'll only do this if rloew's family is OK with it, it's only an invitation. But with that being said I'd be more than happy to do it if desired.
  10. Not the best photo quality but the auto parts shop in town is still running XP on one of their PCs.Though (out of picture) the PC is now resting in their counter instead of directly under the monitor as it previously was, the last time I posted about it. The picture is actually from about 2 months ago and I forgot to share it until now. They still are running XP now though!
  11. Oh, it doesnt? My knoweldge is limited on cloudflare. Now I know. Looking deeper I see. You need to own the parent domain to protect the subdomains.
  12. You should be able to use your Cloudflare protection. I don't see why you couldn't, anyway.
  13. I personally would -NOT- recommend using a "cloud storage" option, as, while they may be free(ish), it will make downloading a lot harder and slower for those on slow computers, as opposed to Good Old HTTP(s). And for me and @Mathwiz cloud storage options would bring forward a whole world of hurt for the browser downloader/installers we Maintain. @roytam1, have you considered getting a free (forever) subdomain from a service such as strangled.net? I used to use it before I bought the i430vx.net domain and I had no issues with it.
  14. If you're talking about my installer @3dreal, I don't really understand. The New Moon SSE option works just fine for me.
  15. Alright folks, my browser installer has been updated to use @roytam1's new hostname. Enjoy! As always, it's available on my web site at: http://i430vx.net/files/XP/RoyTam Browser Installer.exe
  16. 17. To users of my browser installer: It doesnt work right now due to the domain name change, I will have that fixed ASAP :)
  18. Earth, Wind & Fire - September (Of course I remember the 21st night of September! It's now!)
  19. Rest in peace, Legend Rloew. You were a Windows 9x god. For historical purposes, here is a recent archive of his web site, dated 12th August 2019. http://web.archive.org/web/20190812081523/http://rloew.x10host.com/
  20. Totally forgot about these clubs. I acquired a DeskPro EN SFF earlier this year. Maxed out the RAM to 512mb, Upgraded to a "Custom" PIII-S 1400mhz Tualatin, and put in a fast 160GB hard drive. Replaced the CD burner drive with a DVD DL RW drive. Also added in a Geforce4 MX4000, and a USB 2.0 PCI Card. The USB card has an internal USB port, so I plugged in a small TP-Link adapter. The system works great, currently running XP Home. (I'll attach pictures soon)
  21. Good news! I've fixed the bug with Firefox 45 SSE in my installer. Download it again (here! http://i430vx.net/files/XP/RoyTam Browser Installer.exe ) and enjoy! That's pretty cool to know, while fortunately my issue was easier than that. I simply had named the file incorrectly after downloading. @Mathwiz, If you want me to host your browser installer "test bed" on my server so it's not eating up your (probably rather limited) MSFN attachment space, I'd be more than happy to do that for you. Just LMK
  22. Well folks, it's here! Version 3.0 of my Unofficial Browser installer offers AUTOMATIC determination of the latest browsers. That means you no longer need to wait for me to update the server file. One other change I added was the ability to "install again", that is to install another browser without closing and reopening the installer. The new version, as always, is availible as always at: http://i430vx.net/files/XP/RoyTam%20Browser%20Installer.exe P.S. BIG thanks to @Mathwiz for showing me your method of determining the latest browser builds, you helped a lot. EDIT: It appears i didnt make something quite right in the COPY of firefox 45, so it doesnt work right now. I will fix it tonight. Par for the course i guess considering I changed nearly everything.
  23. hey guys- Sorry once again, I was away for the week. but summer is over, which means vacations are too for me. The server file is updated so the installer will download the latest builds, and the promised new installer version that doesnt need it is coming soon-- I have much more time on my hands now. :)
