  1. Hi. I have noticed that whatsappweb allows login and kind of start to load in a fresh profile in sp52. But then ends up spiraling around just like github. Has anyone been able to trick whatsapp into working in sp52?
  2. It works very well, except for pages with QR. The phone can't read them.
  3. Just an update from my last post here. I added a few parameters I had previously erased so as to make sure whatsapp works: in my set up, these parameters allow for whatsapp (plus YT, FB and linkedin; I can read twitter, but have no account, so I don't know about it). I have a bat file that, on launch, copies my standard "preferences" "bookmarks" and "favicons" into Default, and another to update and save them outside Default when I make changes that I want to keep for future sessions. Otherwise all changes to those files get lost (with said files) on quitting 360chrome. The same applies for extensions that lose settings when deleting (as I do) Default\Local Extension Settings when closing the browsing. The only things I leave in the Default folder after closing are in the attached image. Those highlighted are 1 empty folder and 9 0 byte files (somewhere Articfoxie suggested his back in the day, and works for me) to avoid the browser creating folders with those files names, and a file with the folder left in default. The two non-highlighted folders are the extensions' settings. All the rest is gone on closing the browser, and recreated automatically when opening it. I hope it may be useful. I will test back test Humming Owl's build 13.0.2310.0 and works well (other than for a crash now and then in whatsapp, as it was always the case for me. The 13.5 seems much more stable. 4. True, I use the loader with your newer 13.5 and Humming Owl's 11 and 13. Well, I like to keep my system partition lean, and my archives leaner, so I delete all I can when using any browser. I never cared much for sessions, cookies and all those things that make the browser start faster but (in my opinion) underperforming and leaking information that is mine only. More important, once I set up a browser, I like it not to change. Erasing all those files and preserving only the ones I want makes it more likely for my set up to pick any change based on browsing behavior.
  5. This is my 360loader, tailored now to this version. BudgetDatabase, DailyBackup, DailyRollingBackup, Download Service, Feature Engagement Tracker, in_progress_download_metadata_store, Sync Data, VideoDecodeStats. I have to add them manually, couldn't do it through the loader. (2) I created a bat file to start 360chrome, which copies bookmarks into default, as well as the extension settings required in Default\Local Extension Settings\ for some extensions (such as umatrix) to run. (3) As in the image, I have a few files remaining (bold by selection) that I would like to get rd of, but haven't yet tried to do so. Cheers.
  6. Yeah, I think that is what he is talking about. I played with the idea in 2017, but decided it was not worth it, given roytam1's builds. It may soon be necessary, though. I'm not a linux guy, but am learning, and the idea for me was/would be to connect to an r-pi used for both filtering and browsing remotely. I think the same can be achieved with vnc (as in tightvnc), though. But I haven't been forced to do so yet. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X_Window_System
  7. Oh, I don't know how to build. But I'm keen to use roytam1's build.
  8. Hi @roytam1 (I hope things are picking up) and all. I wonder if anyone could direct me to places where to learn how to mod artic fox (roy's build). Is it safe to assume that what is good for newmoon 27 is (kind of) good for artic fox?
  9. If so, the dismiss the overlay extension may do the trick, It does in most other sites with that strategy.
  10. I think the problem may be that closing down the browser doesn't clean places.sql, until it restarts. So before the browser is fully on, it loads past session's history and thumbballs. It could also be addons, too. Or one of them gg bots going nuts with you, mind you. :P
  11. Fresh profile? For those issues (I use addons, multiple browsers and apps connecting to the internet for xyz) it's best to use a firewall.
  12. My taste: Roytam1 builds are robust. I like serpent 52. Depending on hardware, you can run e10s on it (see second pinned article in this thread), and all the good (and modded) addons of late. Pre-ff83 too (even prior to 82 the numbering was funny). You can find roytam's thread in MSFN below, and his builds here in https://rtfreesoft.blogspot.com/search/label/browser.
  13. Dukto (https://sourceforge.net/projects/dukto/files/) installed in both android and XP may do the trick -over LAN. I think you have allow UDP for it in the firewall(s), though, but you can avoid that by manually entering the LAN ip address of the device you wish to transfer files to.
  14. OMG. Thanks. Now we are back in business. Thank you @luweitest!
  15. This may be of interest. John Haller says: I've been working on ensuring that links to legacy versions of our apps at PortableApps.com are available for a bit. After reading through a bit of the XP compatible software topic and the recent What does your XP looks like in 2022? topic, I thought I'd consolidate it a bit more and formalize it. I created a Windows XP/Vista Compatible App Versions, Adding To The App Directory topic over in the PA.c forums to track it. I've added a new entry in our listings to link to legacy builds for our apps setup in a way that they install alongside the current versions (ex: HexChatPortableLegacyWinXP) and won't be affected by the PA.c Platform's updater. If there's a PA.c Format app that's missing or an app where we released it after XP/Vista were dropped and you'd like a build of it, drop a post in our forum topic or here and I'll add it to the list to get it put together for interested folks. If there's enough interest, I may put together a legacy PA.c Suite and/or add it to our app store. https://www.portablefreeware.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=25941
  16. What is interesting is that two builds prior this did not happen at all, at least on my set up.
  17. Almost there. I use now metager as main serach engine, google only when necessary. As per the latest sp52 update, it doesn't affect this bug -which, again seems to occur only with e10s on-. I have noticed that backsapce also stops working (sometimes) in the address bar.
  18. Well, with the new latest version (2 hours ago) the delete/backspace problem persists with e10s enabled. I am now writing this with a very similar profiles, mostly the same addons and the backspace config as 0 (default) and both delete and backspace work well.
  19. Well, actually I have observed this behavior in this forum . Over the weekend will check somewhere else :P
  20. Yeah, I was confused too. In fact, I just checked on the 360 variants and all is well. This means, I guess, that the issue is with the last sp52. I will later try on a fresh profile to see if the issue is just e10s+addons.
  21. Now we are talking. Probably I didn't notice this issue before because I use the addon mousegestures 2.5.1. It just may be the case that this addon doesn't override sp52 in text areas, anymore. PS: for those who have seen it in youtube, a clear case of where is my cheese :P
  22. Hi there. I've never had the need. Up to this week or so, backspace was backspace for me, without question. I just checked this never used (by me) setting. 0, which is the default = page back: a nightmare. In writing this post I had to redo it four or five times as I hit backspace to edit stuff. Dang. 1 takes you to the beginning of the page. At least I don't have to reload the page. 2 or any other number kills backspace. However, for text boxes the issue is not only, now, with backspace, but also with delete! And this is all new this week (be it because changes in the build, or in the internet (which may be the case since it is not working in chrome either, I guess, since articfoxie is using the script he suggested). and its interaction with e10s (as @luweitest suggests). So now I'm stuck on 2 in browser.backspace_action, and have to select the text I want to delete ):
  23. There is something really strange. It stopped working!
  24. Hi. It didn't work for me. I get a "can't fetch http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/2.1.4/jquery.js" kind of error. However, the following script works: https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/7229-backspace-means-backspace
