  1. first, unless you have LCD, it is highly not recommended due to 60Hz eye killing refresh frequency; second, be more specific in changing the background color. in what way?
  2. are you sure windows xp don't use inf files? (i am not) otherwise, try using autoit script.
  3. Heh, we are making progress here... SimonSays found this one: Testing pending...
  4. nice one... will test it these days with xp boot logo and report back... (one more trich is that windows boot logo is a 16 color image, with all all pallete colors set to 0,0,0, so it's quite tricky to see what pallete color will be used for text... my hopes is that it will use last pallete entry, cause it is white)

  8. Hi, there. I need some kind of a tool which can be instructed via command line to put some text on an existing bitmap. for example: sometool.exe /txt="some text" /img="C:\myimage.bmp" /offsetx=300 /offsety=120 /color="#FFFFFF" more details on why i need this is in thread: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=37614 thank you.
  9. ok, here's something we migh want to achieve. let's say we want the possibilty that the end-user chooses what text is to be displayed in the bottom-left part of the windows xp boot logo instead of a copyright notice. (he would choose this in the T-12 minute of the windows setup) so, we need some app that would generate a image based on an existing boot image with an empty bottom-left portion, and mix it with text, while still retaining exact 16 colors pallete of the original windows boot screen; next step is to automatically insert our image into resource section of the kernel, which could be autoomated by using some existing resurce editing tool. after that, coping part is less than easy. so, throw you ideas on which tools to use!
  10. try making an autoit script...
  11. you have to modify ALL four kernels in I386\SP2.CAB to make it work correctly... (i.e. avoid system hang after second restart) you also need to modify two old kernels in I386 folder...
