  1. Why, Yes it is. Thanks sam13484. It mentioned 942615 replaces 939653. So, I downloaded that one and slipstreamed it into my SP3 build, overwriting 942615 apparently. After installing and booting it in vmware, no more IE crashes. Windows update doesn't like something about it though. Totally freaks with "Windows Validation error", repeatedly. I might abandon the SP1 part of this and start over with a fresh copy of XP SP2, and THEN continue down this path.
  2. Background; I've been having the "issue" where IE crashes all the time, since running Windows update several weeks ago. This has been happening to several desktops and laptops. I went ahead and ran SP3/3244 on several of them, hoping it may fix the issue...no luck. (These aren't mission critical pc's/laptops, obviously.) Tried the fixes referenced by bink ( Bink.nu ) and generally mined this issue thouroughly. Finally uninstalled kb942615 and everythings been working like a charm ever since. CAN kb942615 be removed from SP3? Is there a patch that I can slipstream into an unattended build to overwright this one? Should I just shut up and wait for the final build of SP3? btw; I bult an install with a fresh copy of Windows XP with no service packs. I slipstreamed SP1a, exited nLite, restarted nLite and slipstreamed SP3. (MS says it's a problem with SP2 and kb942615...Was hoping to eliminate it by going from SP1a right to sp3. Apparently, that was a waste of time. ) Didn't even think of doing any other tweaks/add-ons/updates/etc. Still, IE crashes when first started.
  3. I threw her name out there cuz I was planning on making a smarta@# comment about her picture. The original post was made shortly after I read the thread concerning her sex/picture, etc. It was quite entertaniing. Anyway, was gonna try to somehow get authentication on the validity of the pic on her website.
  4. ...Cuz you'all got me HOOOKED on building these CD's! Stumbled in here like a drunkin sailor trying to fix, I can't even remember what. Instead, I've been building cd's for the last week like a crazed zombie on crack! Thanks to unattended.msfn.org, it's been a piece of cake. Because of your fantastic info, My first cd was done in about 4 hours. The next day I was able to complete one with 17 apps and about 50-60 reg tweaks! Holy Cow! Enough of this gratitude stuff. Need to score my next nickle bag! (or, whatever the kids are refering to it as these days) Thanks again, Ya'all for ALL the WORK you've out into this! (Gosh, If that's REALLY your picture, your an attractive young lady.) um...ok...I don't have a sig yet so, move along. There's nothing to see here. ...by-by now...
  5. I think your refering to SYSOC.INF. All the crap Windows installs. Things in there with the HIDDEN tag are, you guesed it hidden. Remove HIDDEN and those items will show in add/remove programs to be dealt with appopriately. new here. will get a tag soon. be patient.
  6. If yer using RunOnceEx.cmd, you can throw this line in the cleanup.cmd file. xcopy "C:\install\favorites\*.*" "C:\Documents and Settings\Steve\Favorites\*.*" /E /C /Q /Y As long as its before these 2 lines... RD /S /Q %systemdrive%\drivers\ RD /S /Q %systemdrive%\install\ This presumes i have an account named "steve" created. (cmdlines.txt file below) [COMMANDS] "useraccounts.cmd" "RunOnceEx.cmd" (useraccounts.cmd file below) net user steve abcdefg /add net localgroup Administrators steve /add net accounts /maxpwage:unlimited REGEDIT /S autologon.reg EXIT and I've copied my Favorites folder to the "install" folder; C:\XPCD\$OEM$\$1\Install\Favorites Does that make sense? (sheesh, just found you guys/girls Monday. 14 Virtual pc installs later... )
