    I never trust or trusted AVG, they suck so bad but no antivirus can detect or prevent cryptos, and for above about "unknown programs", who dictates what is known and unknown ? smells to me same as digital signatures which will kill development of non company tools

    win7 is still fine if you just make the list of bad updates and filter them out i did that and am enjoying my win7 updated till february 2016

    so certain components are needed for Recovery to work these are mainly, Restore, Volume Shadow Copy, WinRe(.wim) but even with that, when I deleted certain sys files, recovery failed to do any repair... so my question is, does Recovery rely on winsxs\Backup folder ?

    to guy saying VL versions came upgraded with ie7 and wmp 11 answer is NO... the only VL version of XP was "Pro" but often called "Corporate Pro" I have RTM (SP0) of it, original ISO, and it is plain standard just like any XP RTM, except for no activation part

    because it is experimental crap OS with experimental "online service" better ask yourself, why do they even dump full OS image and call it update, instead to simply put out smaller Service or Update pack... whatever its convinient to call it these days... or as I'd say: why the fuck would I download 3 gigs of crap for something that requires 500 MB at most answer is probably the same, simply to annoy the fuck out you and everyone else

    find older version of wblinds its not being supported for like 10 years 5.5 gives you transparency 6+ gives you blur any other app I saw uses CPU while wblinds uses GPU for this, so wblinds is far superior

    yeh but its tedious too bad vlite never got updated for 7 sp1, doubt theres much to change there when components are merely the same except few

    why ? metro "apps" are downgraded in functionality comparing to win32

    vlite works with 7 RTM but rt7lite is better, as it supports 7 SP1 and both x86 and x64 compiles

    visual c++ redist packages go like this vcredist 2008 vcredist 2008 SP1 vcredist 2010 vcredist 2010 SP1 etc... but they are all same size and archive contains i guess updated files so question 1. - do I have to install just SP1 ones, or RTM and SP1

    I avoid anything called "culmunative" especially as it can bundle hell of w10 stuff

    could be fragmented page file ? bad disk blocks ? I'd say defrag your disk (unless its SSD) put all .sys and .dll files on outer track

    it's "kernel", and there is difference in porting where dxdiag sees it and making it work as in utilising it and trust me, nobody went close as alky and then it died
