ok I won't spam another topic, but few questions of 64bit OS since I have 5 gigs of RAM I'm gonna jump to win7 x64 but: 1. will old games as Diablo 2 work normally ? 2. why does OS have Program Files (x86) when it installs and/or runs 32bit apps NORMAL from ordinary Program Files ??? 3. can I remove Program files (x86) ??? :P

ill test that crap when migrate to bigger hard drive never knew this existed, but again its their fault they split some valuable options into some mole hole can't find stuff in this NT 6 control panel

hmm there is some weird stuff here heh... the OS (32bit) can't fill above 3.68 GB RAM (yes i'm testing its limit now) at least task manager shows as such, then either popup warning gets out or programs crash taskman also reports 75% memory usage, but "commit charge" reports "5075 MB" / 5117 MB used while resource monitor says that used RAM is 3882, and above it can't go so I guess at the end x86 OS even patched can't use these 5 GB :(

oh man... now I see why it is so useless haha btw, there on list says (among other things) "Complete PC Restore (to restore from a volume backup image)" where is this volume backup stored ? or user has to do it himself ?

AV is my last concern my jaws dropped now when I saw OS sees full 5 GB of memory (since I added 1 GB stick more) sjeez god **** microsoft many thanks :D

no no, i have 4 slots 1-empty 2-has stick of 2GB 3-has stick of 2GB 4-empty when i put stick in slot 1, its ignored by OS, and this isn't some stuff brand, its Transcend

currently i'm on win7 32bit with 3.2 GB RAM (4 in reality) and I have 1 GB more lying around is it worth it to jump onto x64 version for 5 GB of RAM or not ?

I'm still wondering why people use this "OS" when its such a garbage to begin with... as for Cortana and blocking and OS, they are doing same thing they did with IE in past they will integrate cortana and this edge so deep into system that excuse will come to: OS can't work without it sounds familliar ?

when it reboots and you choose recovery via black screen and then it boots via PE mode in its recovery version of UI to "detect and repair" things

yeh I know it cannot be, but I don't mind having 3 and half gigs being used my question is, why is Windows 7 (sp1) so stupid ??? I havent changed any component in... 6 years yet few months ago before format and 4 gigs, it reckognised 3.5 GB RAM and now few weeks ago it only sees 3.25 GB RAM (as I changed slot) so who's stupid here ? -_-

passwords and limited accounts won't help when crafted smart, any malware can login as SYSTEM which overrides both UAC and your ... whatever account protected thing :P

thats good, incoming "red stone" 2 and 3 won't help winblows 10 to be better RS 2 will be more patch upgrade and RS 3 few features, nothing interesting

I never trust or trusted AVG, they suck so bad but no antivirus can detect or prevent cryptos, and for above about "unknown programs", who dictates what is known and unknown ? smells to me same as digital signatures which will kill development of non company tools

win7 is still fine if you just make the list of bad updates and filter them out i did that and am enjoying my win7 updated till february 2016

so certain components are needed for Recovery to work these are mainly, Restore, Volume Shadow Copy, WinRe(.wim) but even with that, when I deleted certain sys files, recovery failed to do any repair... so my question is, does Recovery rely on winsxs\Backup folder ?
