for what is worth... comparing NTlite with RT7Lite, i must say i am disapointed i just did win7 pro liting in latest ntlite version (free) there is so little that user can do... it would be nice to have preset for "tweaked and safe" what processes should run there should also be option to get rid of MCE, WMP, defragmenter, defender, superfetch, backup/restore and volume shadow copy these are some basics... another thing, which makes no sense to me, is why the program allows WIM, ESD or just folder reading but not ISO to read and unpack... -> this was 1st thing that annoyed the s*** out of me and my final complaint, the program does not apply additional post install changes (bat script, or tweaked registry file) it allows you to add on the list but doesn't apply them at all also option to remove libraries from nav panel doesn't work, they are still there also one question, when ntlite free, makes ISO at the end, is it bootable or not ? (as I only test in VM so can't know)

when they make cheap 6 TB SSD with fuse protector (or what ever its called, that s*** that explodes upon too big current) then I will use such single drive for backup as I don't see still that there are no any safety against small electricity/static discharge protections user still has to rely on 80ies guide, plug out the PSU cable, set PSU to zero, put on rubber gloves and yank in component hopefully you won't hear "cczzz"

i read the document sheet creator wrote ? bphlpt: stability and security comes from hotfixes, not additional features ------- its like saying win98 is more stable if you install PLUS pack or vista runs stabler if you put ultimate extras on it say what ?

Simple hack enables classic theme in Windows 10 (and 8, too!)
vinifera replied to CamTron's topic in Windows 10
it should be, classic shell was, and still is backbone to everything else if you find a way to remove DWM, you'll see this effect shit i'd use dud(.exe) just for the lulz to see what would happen any api call would shut down imediately so you'd either get classic shell (broken) or explorer crashing -
Windows updates fail installation then uninstall all updates.
vinifera replied to MarkJohnson's topic in Windows 7
ah my mistake, i switched words but main point stays if older update was KB73458 newer would be either higher number or KB73458-v2 (-v3... etc) so its still sorted by "whats latest" -
well in my win7 SP1 with integrated fixes up to 9th month 2015 there is no GWX folder in logs seems like 9nth month was last "clean", after that all i see on forums is this pushing "10" as for Defender, dunno why people even use that garbage...

they are in chronological order since KB's come with numbers, newer patch over old, gets either higher number or same with "-v2" -
@NoelC I meant, you have mixture of .net now within VB/CPP so you can use "newest api" yes I know there are workarounds for ver6 well main point was, there is no native or pure win32 support for these new vs's its all for .net s***, and even VB 6 is not supported anymore in terms of patching and MS doesn't care of it and they did write they dropped support for it, but it still seems its apps and runtimes run on NT6/10

Windows updates fail installation then uninstall all updates.
vinifera replied to MarkJohnson's topic in Windows 7
thats why there is start /wait command if win7 is anything smart it will overwrite old files with new ones additionally user can use that KB that integrates into disk cleanup to remove unused garbage -
In my humble dumble opinion, that depends in which prog interface you do coding visual studio without .net (VS 6, or Broland delphi prods)is/are compatible up to win 2003 but VB6 is STILL supported up to winblows 10, while all these new visual studios based on .net are ... i guess every shit compatible from vista and up unfortunately that is not the main problem main problem is that MS is still usin win32 api without supporting it in vcpp/vb so you're basically doomed to .net crap, which is again worse, as theres no backward compatibility so yeah... install 2, 3, 3.5, 4, 4.2, 4.5, 4.6 ... and so on or those idiots could simply update win32 api and theres no need for gigabyte of junk but rather 30 MB tops, and you get same shit

Windows updates fail installation then uninstall all updates.

there is download WU downloader (think MDL has it, google it) then when it scans what you need, you can choose what to download (as it dumps updates in 1 folder) then run CMD from that folder, and type dir /B > _update.BAT now hit F5 within that folder, on top you will have _update batch file with listed all downloaded updates inside now right click on _update.bat and select Edit, now notepad will open 1st delete _update.bat from the list, then do Edit -> Replace, 1st box type KB 2nd box type START /WAIT KB press REPLACE ALL button ------- now again Edit -> Replace, 1st box type .msu 2nd box type .msu /quiet /norestart press REPLACE ALL now do File -> Save, exit notepad and run _update.bat file -
mmm pc's will never drop dumbest example: you can't have gaming rig stiffed into mobile phone or tablet and nVidia and AMD with other minors thrive from this then comes RAM then come SSD disks now lets go software based, you can't program normal on something that doesn't have phisical keyboard and a pointer, so no programming, no 2 and 3D graphics, no multimedia (videos) processing actually no nothing... this will only change in hologram "world", but home users won't see or even have this 50 more years AT LEAST, 100 years if humanity lives so much , maybe

there wouldn't be driver problems if those morons didn't on purpose renamed kernel from 6.3 to 10 both "8" and "10" could have used legacy "7" driver, which would make manufacturers prolonged support for "7" as for "7" being old, well shit, RTM sucked and was plagued with some bugs, SP1 fixed this then it takes AT LEAST 1 year for market to accept the OS, so thats like 3 years after 2009, so technically OS is in circulation 5 years if it had SP2 it would be longer, but yeah let them ditch it in favor of crapware
-
hospitals here use Server 2003 supermarkets use XP some private practices use "7" departement for un-employedes (or whatever its called) use XP IRS (in my country) use "7" I haven't seen yet anyone in state business using anything above "7" even our goverment use "7"

if you're using ordinary magnetic hard drive, then its slower with SP1 (but that is like in miliseconds ? ) - depends how old it is if you're on SSD then its the same SP1 only gives hotfixes, not features or tweaks, but with that it also increases number of some system files hence why ordinary HDD has to seek/read more then again if you tweak it yourself (SP1) it can be faster than originally shipped just like XP did via nLite

was wondering, is there a method/way to determine if blur gets disabled when "no transparency" is selected ? or if anyone knows if it does ?
