  1. Don't give up just yet; check if you copied the Reg command right. In this line there mustn't be any spaces.
  2. If you split a HDD into two partitions, don't they get separate serial numbers? Won't that mess with activation?
  3. If it is a retail version (or most OEM versions), then YES, one license per product key. Volume licenses, in accordance with the agreement with MS, can be used on more than one PC. Do you have Windows CDs purchased from a store, did they come along with the PCs or you downloaded ISO images from MSDN/Technet? Cheers
  4. Did you click to disable UxTheme support for unsigned themes in nLite? Look at pic #35 of this image guide http://win-x.co.cc/nliteimages.html Cheers
  5. Just to confirm: nLite's EULA states that you cannot use it in a corporate environment; it is for personal use only. Edit: repeating myself; johnhc, looks like you beat me to it in seconds Cheers
  6. http://www.msfn.org/...__1#entry931139 http://www.msfn.org/...__1#entry918274 http://www.msfn.org/...__1#entry812922 These are just for Quick launch, so use Search and you will find your answers. Cheers
  7. A way to quickly determine is to open Device Manager and do the following: Copying the Hardware IDs and searching for them will tell you for sure which device you need. You specifically need the VEN(dor) and DEV(ice) numbers. E.g. VEN_10EC is for Realtek, DEV_0880 is model ALC880. Cheers
  8. Same error, this time on line 1209. Cheers
  9. Very true jaclaz, I am familiar with the universal SATA driver, but if it were the issue of slipstreaming the SATA driver before installing, it should have already been done. The problem now is whether installing this universal driver on a live system, restarting and making the appropriate changes in the BIOS will boot up Windows, therefore allowing him to insert the Intel driver. This is possible with AHCI on AMD motherboards, which I have successfully used. (Also have in mind that EdWh has on several occasions proclaimed himself to be a novice, so I'm trying to keep my explanations simple) Cheers
  10. If you changed from IDE to AHCI after you installed Windows, then it's no wonder you got an error. To have Windows set up in AHCI mode, you have to install it in AHCI along with the SATA/AHCI/RAID driver. Cheers
  11. Updated to version 0.7.38 for 32-bit versions
  12. As Kel mentioned, if you have AHCI or SATA, it will give better performance for the hard drive. So, start up the PC and press-release (hit) Del continuously (it is different on different motherboards; it could also be F2, for example) and enter BIOS. Look around using the keyboard (arrow keys to move, Enter to confirm and Esc to go back) and see if you have SATA or AHCI. If there is just RAID, then you can just leave it to IDE and a driver won't be required. The fact that it's looking for a floppy tells me that it is probably not set to IDE. Cheers
  13. I checked your motherboard on their site and the SATA driver you need is here You need to extract it, and when you integrate drivers in Nlite, integrate it in TXT mode.
  14. As far as I know, service packs are cumulative, and SP3 can be integrated on any kind of XP x86 disk, without any previous service pack. A question: where exactly are you planning on installing this nLited CD, that it is troublesome for you do do a test or two? Edit: still waiting for that Last Session.ini Cheers
  15. Welcome to MSFN. This question belongs to the nLite forum http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showforum=89 , and you've attached the wrong .ini file. We need the Last Session.ini, found in the Presets folder in nLite. Why not integrate SP3? SP2 is no longer supported by Microsoft. You are installing on a SATA drive, but have you included SATA drivers into the CD? Cheers
  16. I'm sure that is your problem, just like I mentioned in post #2. The download hasn't completed, so the installation cannot be successful. Try downloading later, or use another browser (or some kind of download accelerator) for the downloads. Cheers
  17. Go to the WINDOWS folder and find the logs about these updates. They should say more about why these updates are not being installed. Cheers
  18. Well, first of all, I'd check the integrity of the download, for example, its size (484KB). Which version of Internet Explorer are you using and did you apply KB2416400: Cumulative Security update for Windows Internet Explorer before trying this? Cheers
  19. Welcome to MSFN, Nathan. The ways of silently installing applications are in this sub-forum http://www.msfn.org/...ation-installs/ . I'm pretty sure you'll find all your answers there. Here's an example of a batch file that supposes you have an $OEM$ folder on the install CD where the applications are put. Also see this http://unattended.ms...xp/view/web/30/ this http://unattended.ms...xp/view/web/31/ and this http://unattended.ms...xp/view/web/59/ On a more serious note, I'd like to ask you, in accordance to forum rules (http://www.msfn.org/...tion=boardrules), to post a specific question in the topic title and always do it in the appropriate forums (unless you are using WPI).This will attract people more efficiently and you will get replies more quickly. Cheers BATCH.CMD
  20. Yes, it is possible to reduce XP to much less than 512MB with nLite. Yes, you can install it to a PC from USB http://www.msfn.org/board/forum/157-install-windows-from-usb/ I'm afraid nobody will provide you with a template, as no one knows your needs from that XP install. Even if you say what your needs are, I doubt anyone will interfere. It's a process of trial and error. Start up a virtual machine, make a build with nLite and test the ISO. After that, reduce or add according to your needs. In case you are thinking of installing XP TO a 512MB USB drive, then you have a lot of problems coming your way. Cheers
  21. First error on XPSP3 x86
  22. @tstaddon Please read the first post of this topic for false positives. You will recognize it by a sign in big red letters that says WARNING
  23. Why do you need the progress bar? The /S switch makes it silent and unattended at the same time. You can try removing it, but I doubt it will work. Cheers
