You could try to use a add-on PCI USB-card, for example with a VIA chipset. Other then that I also have no clue . (card wil cost you like 12 euro)

@ benheaven1, I would not go for a Gigabyte GA-K8NXP-9, buy a ASUS if it’s in your budget. The Sapphire Radeon X600XT isn’t a good card, way to slow for new games. Sapphire (like Pine, XFX, club3D) isn’t a good brand. Look for other brands and go for a 6600 or a 6800 from nVidia, they can run pixel shader 3.0 games smooth. That’s all I want to say for now .

I wish I had 64bit CPU´s in combination with my 6800 cards . But no, you don’t need a 64 bit CPU to use a 6800. Why you ask that? Making plans to by a 6800 and not a 6600? Difference between them is 128bit MEM-interface for the 6600 and 256bit MEM-interface for the 6800, but the 6600GT works with faster RAM so there will be almost no difference in performance between them
-
MX, that´s old , but it´s not true what your saying, there is a MX4000 and that one has a 128bit stucture LOL

Write also something about; Ground-loops and ground is not always ground. It could be that if you ground objects diferent, for example on diferent contacts, you can get a "ground-loop" giving lots of interference and even voltage diference between those two earth-contacts. In theory it should be absolute 0 (nil), but in practise it´s most of the time not 0.

Not bad, most of them build out of 0.7mm steel and a 300W (they say it can handle 400W some times ) power supply. If you want more then look at 60 US$ range cases, they are build out of 0.8mm steel and 350W power supplies that are not that bad. 90 US$ range, nice 1mm steel or aluminium with 400W power supplies So, it’s just like this, power and quality comes with a price. If you don’t want to pay more then 30 US$ then the links I gave are nice options; No fancy colours, no window, no other Christmas looks .

I like this shop bc they have a lot of stuff for nice prices and not to forget it´s easy to find and look at products (nice pictures from mutiple vieuws). Just brouwse around there... if you find some thing then post it, we will take a look at it and tell you what the cons and pros are PS, there cases start with 17 US$ or some thing...

Look here for more info on services, it´s good for people who start to play with them: http://www.blackviper.com/ Also, keep always a swap file to play safe, I have 512MB RAM and a swap file of 768MB (about 1.5 times the RAM). You will not gain much performance by disabling the swap file.

Just looked at that program, but it can´t convert any thing; "MBRWiz is a command line tool designed to directly modify the MBR, with the capability to set partitions active for booting, delete or hide partitions, back up and restore copies of the MBR, as well as sort the partition entries."

That´s what I´m saying, disable Themes and Index services, those are the big ones. For beginners I don´t advice to disable more services. I have 8 running but that´s bc I know what I´m doing
-
Better, altrough I think 2GB is pritty big. All my machines have 512MB RAM and just 8 services running, taking up 80MB of RAM bc I keep the kernel and other loaded DLL in RAM. I use a 768MB paging file and never had any problems. Did you do some thing with disabling services?

@ jaclaz, “Thank you for the advice, but my board works perfectly, it's Daos' one that has the problem.” Thanx, changet it . @ Astalavista, “hehehe I am always nice.” I´ve seen other thing before Q) you moved from Holland to Mexico? Well.... u can still get pretty good weed in Mexico. But not ask good as in Holland. LOL! A) Thu. The police here will bust your a**, some thing that will not happen in Holland for a joint Q) Just curious how much do u charge and hour. A) Like a lousy 1.1 US$, 12 pesos, I know it´s not much but the other ones charge 8-10 and still this cyber has the most customers. Q) Are u using DSL or Cable modem. How much is your monthly to your ISP? A) We use Cable now, 600kbps, witch is fast for Mexican terms. Soon we move to a bigger place, then we will have a dual WAN router with both lines, one Cable one ADSL, 600+512kbps down, 140+128kbps up (WOW!, hehehehe) Q) What software do u use to monitor how long they are logon? A) All is done by pen and paper, they report there selfs at the service desk, then they walk to any computer they like, when they are finished they go back to the service desk, pay there consumables and time. Mexican style… “Hummm... just thinking of Mexico i can smell the paella the black one with squid ink. ahhh... yummy! lechon de le che (Roast Pig)” - “heheh the Philippine was a colony of Spain for 400 years so we enjoy Spanish food here as well.” I don’t like Mexican food so much, but I’ve learned to eat the green pepper This member has chosen not to be contactable by the board Messenger This personal message has not been sent Please unblock me so I can reply on your PMs

Simon, 6W RMS per channel is not much, it’s good for gaming but for movies it will need more. 17W RMS subwoofer (I think they use 13cm (5")) will not provide you with a thundering bass. If you compare it with the sub of Logitech, that one can deliver 100W RMS. Effect speakers can deliver 35W RMS. I know you have to listen to quality, and Watts don’t say any thing (it’s the max SPL on the whole range from lets say 30-17000Hz) but Logitech sweeps the floor with Creative. Any way, Creative makes nice ones, Logitech just is better in sound, power and quality . Any way, it´s up to ripken204 to make a choice...

Make that a 16x, SLI 2* 8x max. I don´t know it for 3 monitors, but I think it should show 2 screen properties... I know it works for 2 and 4 monitors. So you want to use 3 monitors, but use 2 as "clone" and 1 as the second one? Yes, it should be, PCI-E is more simular to PCI then AGP. That´s why there are PCI-E controllers for RAID for example (and more will come out soon). What country are you from? Most countries in Europe give your money back in 10 days or so, so why not test it, you have nothing to lose I think .

I don´t work for BAS computers any more, I quit. I started a new life here in mexico bc my wife is from Mexico and there for I started a cybercafé. Cybers are know here for renting computers but also selling them. In the future I´m going to start to import products again . ps, don´t be my enemy, I see that you are nicer to people now on the forum.
-
I have my own cyber café here, kicking competitions a** . I like it better . From what country are you?
-
I did before, in Holland, Hoofddorp, company called BAS computers, also known as MyCom Holland (there stores). Can´t find what country your from... it could be that he knows Steven Bakker, the owner, I worked directly under his orders...
-
Off topic: Yeah, okay, So I worked for the BENELUX importer of ASUS, called BAS Computers. Manager RMA, and I know my job well . Keep it easy .
-
For ASUS you have windows flash utils, check them out on there site .
-
What is your budget? Like 30 US$ or more. What country do you live in? They don´t sell every case in every country. Waiting for your replies,

They sound wonderful for there price, Creative makes nice ones too but still they are a bit behind on Logitech. Before I used Creative speakers my self because logitech didn’t have nice speaker sets 3 years ago or so. Sins they came out with new lines they kicked a** in speaker marked showing the world how to build affordable speaker systems with a "good enough" sound that sounds most of the time even better then home cinema sets (talking about those DVD systems with build in amp and a small sub in combination with small effect speakers from LG, Samsung, Philips and other brands (not talking about a kick a** home cinema system with big speakers, active subs and a smooth amp from Onkyo, Yamaha or even more audiophile like amp.) I used to build amps and speaker systems my self, but you simply can´t do it for a price under 300 US$ (used a lot Vifa and Visaton).

Most games will disable "normal" functions of keyboard and mouse. Only by swithing between programs you will be able to use the second screen. But what holzer likes to say I think, is that he likes to use one for playing and when he´s not playing use both for his desktop and other programs (correct me if I´m wrong).
-
It will work, just not in SLI mode. It´s the same as putting 2 diferent PCI VGA cards in one system . Also you don´t need a PCI-E card for your second VGA card. One thing; to avoid problems use cards that can use the same driver...
-
Let him find a new job, your telling that he is putting new BIOS chips on mobos that are wrongly flashed? What a waste of time and chips. You can REPROGRAM them easily with flasher or with a hot-swap. Right LOL @ Daos, If you have warranty, used it before it’s to late, don’t say any thing about a wrongly/faulty flashed BIOS.

Stay with 5.1, you will not get better sound out of a 7.1 system, especially if there is a budget. SiMoNsAyS gives you Creative, I would go for Logitech. In general they are better for the price, more power and punching bass too... http://www.newegg.com/app/searchProductRes...ech&Order=price Check this one out: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc....-121-121&depa=0
