Hi Y'all!! Well, I finally post my problem here in this forum, maybe someone's able to help.. Until spring 2004, I used an older PIII-system with Win2K running and an Epson CX5200 scanner / printer combo. This printer worked just fantastic and was fast as hell. I never had any problems. However... this changed in spring 2004 when I changed my computer. I bought a retail Fujitsu-Siemens Scaleo 600 (P4 2.8GHz, 512Megs RAM, Mainboard Gigabyte GA-8SGXLFS, Chipset SiS 648, WinXP Home SP2, always up-to-date). The printer-built-in copy-function still works perfectly but as soon as I try to print with any Win-application, printing becomes an adventure. First I takes about a minute before any printing job starts. Then the printer pulls in a page and... nothin'... wait some more seconds.... then it starts printing, but guess what? In slowmotion! It keeps printing line for line unbelieveably slow and finally, after about half a page, stops, pauses some more seconds, and printer-monitor of windows spits out some unknown USB-error and cancels the print-job. After that, only turning off the printer helps to reset it. - I'm using the most recent printer-drivers, no change. - I have tried all possible settings in the printer-spooler, no change. - I have changed the USB-cable, no change. - I have upgraded my BIOS, tried all possible settings, no change. - Scanning with my printer works without problems. - I have plugged the printer to my dad's computer (W2K) -> Works perfectly. Additionally, I have realized a curious thing. When I try to print a simple text-page (ie. in Firefox), printing fails. But recently, I have printed a complex and large-sized CD-cover in Nero Cover Designer and.. printing worked just fine. I have absolutely no clue, what causes the problem with my printer. I have only heard that my mainboard chipset (SiS 648) seems to be very picky with USB-devices. If I plugged my printer to an active USB-Hub or replaced the USB-cable with an printer-bluetooth-adapter and connect it via bluetooth, would that make a change? So if anyone of y'all knows a solution for my probs, pleeeeeaaaase drop me a line!! L8tr!! Attached File: Sysconfig.txt -> Info about my system-config and chipset sysconfig.txt
