  1. I see X850XT cards for fewer than 150 bucks so I will get one of them soon. nVidia isn’t bad and neither is ATI, but both have problems with drivers and so witch make me think that good drivers for video cards are hard to make. The only nVidia card that had a small problem was the first GeForce3, and that was a hardware bug. ATI is known for the overheating GPUs but when you keep that in mind then you should take prediction to it. Not all people know how to install hardware .
  2. Try to get a ATI 7000 AGP, I don´t know if a ATI 9250 fits, never tried that, or just a PCI card. nVidia and ALI is just war (even back with the TNT cards).
  3. You use the system in a desktop housing, so I don´t see any problem with a weight of 300 grams for the cooler.
  4. Next month? How about; When you walk out the door of the shop it’s worth half . Never bought the max, always a step back when it comes to CPUs... But that ASUS board is cool, I like the display on the back to look at when you sit in frond of your PC .
  5. okay, didn´t know what parts you already had
  6. Changing Hardware IRQs, not rerouted by Windows or BIOS, could fix some problems. I was just asking if he did . Jup, those 3com 90x card are good for just the basic stuff now, I use them to install XP on systems without a NIC or a NIC that requires an extra driver. Those Broadcom chips are not bad at all, first time I used them was on an A7V333 or so from ASUS. Are you sure that it works on the PCI-E (1x) bus?
  7. But I suppose you tried other PCI slots? Those NICs, they are old but good ones and never gave me any problems, so did you try an other card too?
  8. Trash? Returned it I hope . So it was just the bad firmware on that 3Com I think. I personaly like Linksys .
  9. Viewsonic indeed. I see that NEC is coming back on the market more and more, didn´t test them my self here. What models did you see?
  10. 11. Can’t tell you much about that one, just that Gateway doesn’t make things there self, they are just an OEM computer builder. Does it need to be 22”, and why that? If you buy a 21” You have more choices.
  12. “Detonator remover” from guru3D.com, try that, could be indeed that some part of the driver is still in use if you used a nVidia card before.
  13. Yes, you always can return it, look at there site for the instructions; no ticket needed, for none of the other brands neither.
  14. Looks more like a Software problem but: What OS are you using and did you disable anything on that OS?
  15. no no, go ahead .
  16. Yes it lines up with uATX cases, but why buy a mini ITX mobo while a uATX fits? Also the price will be lower and you will have some PCI / PCI-E slots more. EDIT: That’s a cheap *ss but ugly case by the way, the buttons for the CD-ROM bays will wear off easily and the thickness of steel they use is too flimsy (0.6mm)... take a look at Antec or Coolermaster, a bit more cash but you will have something way better build. That case is exact the garbage they normally sell in Mexico, so I know it .
  17. You would like to take a look at the coolermaster cases too, they come without PSU so you can buy those from Antec or so.
  18. Okay, video card: Pipelines are the same but lower clock speeds applied. With other words the GS isn’t great in games at all but will do while the GT will run most games smooth up to 1280*1024 at high settings. Play a little with this link from Toms Hardware and see how it performs in there benchmarks.
  19. I would not take an iNTEL board, look at the ASUS or Gigabyte boards; they have some features more that you could like, for the same price.
  20. My choice would be this SAMSUNG 215TW Black 21" 8ms DVI Widescreen LCD Monitor. It may not have HDMI but it sure has analog SVHS / video in.
  21. 3aces, LOL, but eeuhmm, ... Better to delete that file and drop a line or 2 what you are planning too. Not everybody needs to know my real name and e-mail address. Thanx . I would like to surprise my self to with a Core2duo .
  22. x850XT = 16 pipelines and GDDR3
  23. I see it also uses twice the CPU power, 2% VS 4%. Looks good, best drive you can buy now!
  24. What’s the fun , I would be crying ... Imagen, your nice 939 nForce4 SLI 32 mobo with X2 4800+... Then you wish your RAM snapped and not your mobo .
  25. Dude, take a look at the X850XT or so... They are getting cheaper by the day and will have the same performance as a 7600GT but then in AGP. It will be the MAX you can buy on AGP for its price, let’s say 140 US$!
