  1. I´m selling those and the XFX cards. I prefer them over XFX cards but that´s just mine. Good solid cards that are based on the nVidia model with the nVidia cooler. The cooler could have been better and to me it´s a bit noisy. Other then that just another good card .
  2. Reinstall your motherboard chipset driver and it would be okay.
  3. Dependencies of Chipset, RAM, cache and other internal CPU constructions, you will get max. 89.5% more out of a C2Q then a C2D, but that is only with programs like 3Dmax, In general, and with programs from this moment you will get like 50-60% more out a C2Q then a C2D. So, let’s say you will get 80% more out of a single cored Core2 and a C2D plus that 50-60% more when you have a C2Q above the C2D. 1.8*(1.5 to1.6) will get you 270 to 288% of a singe cored CPU, so not 400%, not even close but it will be up to 359% with 3Dmax. Don’t even bother with games…
  4. Just test it out Zxian. CPU load has nothing to do with power by the way. Second core will not double the calculation power...
  5. jcale, No, a dual core CPU will not be double as fast as a single core CPU at the same clock speed. Then RAID would give you also double the speed and SLI with 2 cards too... It’s just not like that as we all know. The quad cored CPU will more likely have the power of 2.5 cores in reality, but still not double the power of a dual core and certainly not four times the power of a single core. But hey, I know you were just making a point .
  6. TAiN, My thoughts on it: You have screens with 1280*1024 on an nVidia card then the Matrox option is cool. But... If you use like me 19" widescreens with 1440*900 then I would seriously look at 2 PCI-E cards of ATI or nVidia, set to not use SLI. I know it could be an expensive switch... For what are you using 3 screens any way?
  7. Indeed... Thanx for pointing me .
  8. Are you going to use the Visualization technology? If so then look for the cheapest AMD CPU that has it. Non of the iNTEL 8xx/9xx have it. The iNTEL CPUs that have it, like the Core2Duo and later, don´t perform well with Visualization technology, e.g. VMware / Virtual Machine. Sure the Core2Duo´s FPU is fater in 32 bit .
  9. I think you are stuck with Matrox, I also found this on Guru3D (Matrox TripleHead2Go Surround Gaming). I would say that there is a possibility with software running 4 monitors at the same time with ATi or nVidia, but I can’t find any thing about it on Windows 2K/XP/VISTA...
  10. If you use VMware or VirtualMachine then go AMD with Visualization technology. If you want to know why then go to the site of VMware and read there reports...
  11. If you play a game, why would you have MSN messenger open, Media Player playing a movie and converting a DVD9 to DVD5? If you want to do that, then get a dual core ..
  12. Yes you can, up to 1024*768 those games will run smooth, with a X850XT even 1280*1024/1440*900, but with NORMAL AA settings or none. I personally don’t use AA. All the systems here in this Internet Café are set on 1024*768 with no AA (some are still 15" TFTs).
  13. The article indeed is bullsh*t, I think some one was bored so made it. It will not give you much but throughput of the RAM will be like 10% better as far as I know, so all the bits help I think . Dual Channel indeed depends on the CPU with AMD, as you remember AMD has a build in MEM-controller...
  14. Get 2x 512MB if you want 1GB, so you can use it in 128bit, 1 stick will give you 64 bit only. I personaly like A-DATA.
  15. Your post seems a bit messy to me... Why don’t you simply use a SATA 320GB hard drive with a PCI SATA card (if your motherboard doesn’t have it already)? Tape isn’t an option, that’s only for backups. Samsung will release soon 32GB Solid State discs; production has already started this week.
  16. Yeah, saw it... edited my post almost directly . I think you are stuck with a complete new cooler or some "modding" your self . DL, I know
  17. well, on more sites is says it is, even the site you gave me... EDIT: Must be a MOD, "X1600 Series, PCI-E, NO, Mounting holes in different positions" on the Thermalright site...
  18. http://www.quietpc.com/gb-en-gbp/products/ati-vga/tr-hr-03 If the man wan´t silent, he get´s silent .
  19. Not compatible? Any link?
  20. Okay guys, listen... That cooler doesn’t need an extra fan, also the 12cm next to it will suck enough hot air away from tour VGA card. And there is the big *ss CPU cooler, also blowing on the heat sink. Just think about it ...
  21. Right, and I have it working on a 6100 chipset from nVidia ...tubui, what video chip does your laptop have?
  22. Most users have the laptop-bag any way and the 2.5" drive doesn´t take up much space... well, those are my thoughts...
  23. MODS? What the... explain...
  24. Or just buy a PCI-Parallel port card? Cheaper and for sure it will work .
  25. LordFett, Why don’t you go with an external USB drive? 2.5" drives don’t use an external power supply.
