  1. You can always buy an aftermarket cooler later from Zalman or Artic Cooling if it get´s to hot or makes to much noise .
  2. That one is fine for 199$ .
  3. I´m almost sure that SIRCOOKS isn´t talking about a floppy connector; it´s the SATA power connector. SIRCOOKS, those connectors have the same width as the molinex connectors? What color are they? Black? If they are the same width then use that connector OR the molinex connector, NOT BOTH (No use for it to use both)...
  4. Replace the thermal paste, apply it thin. Let us know what it does then...
  5. Fot that price I would take the GT, and don´t worry about the fans: They are the same! (Well, depending on the brand but most use the same ones)
  6. Well, the dual cored CPUs from iNTEL also have 64bits onboard but AMD is still better (read more compatible, better instruction set) when it comes to 64bit. Any way, any idea what you are going to do with your new computer? (don´t be lazy, and tell it to us please )
  7. If you are trying to format on NTFS and it doesn´t work, then try FAT32 or even FAT.
  8. Yes, in higher resolutions and AA at max you will see some differences, it also depends on the CPU you are using. The nVidia 8800xx needs the most powerful CPU for example (as they say in Tomshardware page). - GeForce 7900 GTX GeForce 7900 GT GeForce 7900 GS Graphics Bus Technology PCI Express PCI Express PCI Express Memory 512MB 256MB 256MB Memory Interface 256-bit 256-bit 256-bit Memory Bandwidth (GB/sec) 51.2 42.2 42.2 Fill Rate (Billion pixels/sec) 15.6 10.8 9.0 Vertices/Second 1.4 Billion 940 Million 822.5 Million Pixels per clock (peak) 24 24 20 RAMDACs (MHz) 400 400 400
  9. Are you sure the thermal paste is applied well? Not to thick applied? 75oC is a lot, can you still touch your CPU cooler without "burning" your fingers? If you can; make a pictures of the inside of the case and the side panel... EDIT: crahak, stop posting a few seconds before me , it´s not first time ... EDIT2: So, it sucks the air away from the sink? Normaly it blows on the sink...
  10. That´s going to be an easy answer; 7900GT. As far as I know the 7900GS is 50 US$ cheaper eg. 150-200 vs. 200-250. What are the prices you have seen?
  11. Backup the things you want to keep and install your OS again. If that doesn´t help RAM it to HP indeed.
  12. The cable is just a standard cable, I don´t see why it could be the cable. It should give 5Volts on pin 1, -D (data), +D (data) and the last pin 0Volts. You could check it with a voltage-meter on the pin-contacts.
  13. jca2007, Just return the stick and ask if they can check it, also try to change it for 2x 512MB...
  14. Right, that´s just sales talk there. You have to return the card like new and it´s only in the USA .
  15. Onboard Video that uses the other part of the RAM .
  16. For those willing to wait a few months before upgrading their PCI-E video cards, click here. The Inquirer has collected information from sites regarding the new low-end video cards from nVidia, based on the GeForce 8xxx-family. They are expected for release in early March. The cards will be based on the G84- and G86-cores which are based on the G80, but will be cheaper due to less RAM and a lower clock speed combined with less shaders and memory bus bandwidth. Name Core Memory Memory Size / Bus Shaders Est. 17. To capture video’s from your games doesn’t need video RAM, where did you friend get that from? The 512MB is mostly used for Z-buffering and textures... and you will see almost no difference between a 256MB or a 512MB card when it comes to the 7600 series, not even if they were 128MB (Not that I have seen any, but still) .
  18. So, that ASUS board has AGP... As far as I know you need to switch to DDR2 to keep the PCI-E. Any other option you don’t have when you OC or you keep it with AMD and just upgrade it to an X2 if you are on a budget. Just my 2 cents .
  19. nVidia 7900GS card for 145 (15 jan. 2007) bucks after rebates: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814186003 , also comes with a free gamepad
  20. And check your cooling paste too ...
  21. Most GF4 440 have just a 4(d)x4(w)x1(h) cm heat sink with no fan...
  22. Indeed, Seagate too will have them in a few months... For the people who want to read more, look here. @ Glent, why do you think that Hitachi "DeathStars" are unreliable? They are not getting that hot any more then a few years ago .
  23. When you flash the BIOS and it’s not the right BIOS, most FLASH programs will tell you that the BIOS isn’t made for that mobo. So don’t worry about picking the "wrong" BIOS...
  24. Open the case and look on the motherboard; there you should find the model number. Yes!, it´s that easy .
  25. Should be the same...
