  1. http://www.tomshardware.com/2005/07/05/vga...vii/page15.html Is what I got, ... just saw that it´s only with AA on max. that the 9800pro outperforms the 6600GT. I came across the link the day before yesterday when I was looking for a friend if it would make sence to upgrade his girlfriends PC with a 6800GS. Any way, thanx for that link, I will pass the info...
  2. Well, 128 bit in the case of an FX5200, that´s the RAM, it´s used in 128bits. The cheaper version of it uses 64bit´s, like 5 to 35% slower then the 128bits version. Internal color calculations can be more bits then it can display, but for sure it´s 32bits color dept .
  3. Who could have thought that? By setting the AGP Aperture size to 128MB or higher fixed it... freaking VIA chipsets...
  4. Cool, this could help more people out.... Thanx for posting this
  5. A 6800XT card would be much faster than a 9800 Pro. Unless you play SIMS 2, then the 9800 Pro will outperform the 6800XT easy... no joke...
  6. Problem with VIA chipsets for PIII and Athlon. I had the same problems with a FX5200 few years ago. Only thing you can do is to reinstall the 4 in 1 drivers from VIA, if that doesn´t help remove the controllers in your hardware list and restart you computer... Let us know what you found out .
  7. Yeah, buy the 7300GT and trow it in a 3volt AGP slot Did you see the post that I posted Posted 22-01-2007 (DD/MM/YYYY) at 11:12 PM? Where do you see that 64bit? Cards that you normaly buy in a computershop just have 32bits color dept, and your older onboard VGA has 24bits color dept .
  8. "What happend to your "monitor" tab?" Normaly you have the monitor tab, when I look at the picture you made I see no such tab... You are missing something.
  9. Nothing wrong there, just your "init" of your VGA card (chip).
  10. What happend to your "monitor" tab? Is this complete XP?
  11. You could thry the one from MSI (RS480M2-IL): http://www.msicomputer.com/product/p_spec....odel=RS480M2-IL Your HP logo will be gone but who cares, but most of the time MSI has better BIOSes then HP.
  12. My bad... It isn´t my day, flyingfiddler already has his things now for some time and I didn´t read his post well. I was presuming that he wanted to buy those parts new, at this moment. So, yes, then I would advice a 820 CPU too, just 130 CAD for a great update. ... Sorry again for bad reading, I was in a hurry and it will NEVER happen again (I hope) ...
  13. The 6800XT is a bit faster then the 9300GT: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814141038 Same price by the way, but it is AGP and the 7300GT has a PCI-E to AGP bridge...
  14. Same here, but then AMD is a better choice with AM2 and a nVidia 6100/6150 chipset. Any of you guys know how the X3000 from iNTEL performs? I Googled on that yesterday but could not find ANY good benchmarks. Got my self a Celeron 2.53 here and don´t know what to do with it, and to spend 115 CAD on a mobo with an VGA card of 50 CAD... well, ... The real thing is, iNTEL and BUDGET are opesites in my eyes... altrough a 820 is 130 CAD, the mobo for it is way more expensive then an AM2 mobo... And for sure the X2 outperforms the 8xx/9xx series... Just my thoughts... but let´s see what other people have to say about it to flyingfiddler...
  15. okay OKAY! guys, don´t jump all over me please . I indeed missed the spot here, no X2s on S939 more, well, I was outdated my self here... But, the problem is that flyingfiddler is on a budget, and he wants to keep his DDR1 RAM, no problem with that, but in combination with AGP? Don´t think so.
  16. http://www.ncix.com gives me diferent info . crahak, where are you from any way? USA?
  17. I think Maxtor isn´t any more with HDDs; They kicked out so much people and there drives are not updated so much any more. Good thing is that they give 3 year warranty again, but that doesn´t say any thing about the quality of the drives. Since there are no realy big changes in there drives I think the quality is the same. Only drives I can buy in Mexico from them are refurbished ones... Don´t know what to think about it...
  18. I see a AGP motherboard with SiS chipset, giving me the shivers... flyingfiddler, why would you go with an outdate system? I can understand that you like to keep your RAM, if so leave iNTEL and go with AMD. AMD S754 CPUs will outperform any S775 Celeron (at this time) and if you want a dobble cored CPU then look at the S939 with an X2, they are cheap now and still work with DDR(1). Make sure you buy a motherboard that supports PCI-E (16x and some 1x) so you can go with a good VGA card for les the price then a AGP card.
  19. 2.4@4.0GHz is indeed a pritty OC. I remember to OC a Celeron(2) 600@1130MHz . By the way; You are only OCing the ram with 33%
  20. No it´s not, it´s part of nVidia now, like ATi... Again: WHAT VIDEO CARD DO YOU USE?
  21. P4 system, does it have a 845G(V) chipset or so? Look at this for example: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814102043 And if you like a bit more power and you like to play the latest games on 1024*768 at mid/max setting then: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814141038
  22. The ULi chipset is better then the VIA chipset, beleve me... EDIT: I don´t know what AGP card you are going to use this time, but if it´s less then a ATi 9550 or nVidia 6200 then you could leave the card out and buy a motherboard with nVidia 6100 (410) chipset, for example the NF-95 from ABIT. Later you can upgrade it with PCI-E cards (16x and 1x)... And yes, they are like 65 US$ and up, but it worth it!
  23. Well, looks expensive to me, for that you can even buy a 9600pro wich is EXACTLY the same card and GPU only better clock speeds, 250 vs 400MHz, and the RAM most of the time 400 up to 600MHz. There are 6600 cards for 100 US$, that would be a better option in my eyes b/c it has SM 3.0 wich ATi doesn´t have (remember that they have Smart Sheader 2.0), Also 256Mb or 128MB, who cares, better to buy a card with a better GPU and less RAM, then a cripled GPU and 256/512MB .
  24. It's molex. Thanx for pointing me, I think I was sleeping there but it sound cool .
  25. You could try to flash the BIOS with the latest one... But... It looks more a voltage problem to me; The voltage on your mobo is 3.3Volts and your card 1.5Volts...
