  1. Hi, just wanted to say something about the precision of the mice. It all depends on the surface you use it. Optical mice normaly have a DPi of 800 while lasermice start at 1200 DPi. But that´s not all, lasers have a higher update frequency and work on more types of surfaces as far as I know. Only thing I´m not sure about if they work on mirrors, I know that the normal optical mice doesn´t. But in the end, like the others say; Look how it fits, then look at the specs... Just a tip, get a good surface too; gamepads make a great deal...
  2. Lol... 300, then I would place an order to let them be made profesional. On the other hand, just a few PC´s a year from 300, I would not complain about that so much .
  3. I would make my own outlet, but I don´t know what tools you have... Are you handy? You know how to solder and make holes in an aluminium plate or so?
  4. Well, Check your capasitors on your motherboard, clean out the CPU fan and other dust around the northbridge. If you need help to see how a capasitor looks like tell us that and we will help you. After all looks fine and the errors still pop up try to use an other IDE cable that has 80 wires. EDIT: This is just a start, let´s do it step for step .
  5. http://compare.intel.com/pcc/default.aspx?...p;culture=en-US http://www.nvidia.com/page/nforce5_intel.html http://www.nvidia.com/page/nforce_600i.html http://www.tomshardware.com/2007/05/21/int...b1333_and_ddr3/ Let´s forget SiS and VIA for now. By the way, it´s easier to ask us some questions when you tell us what you want, but not like all the specs of the iNTEL based desktop chipsets. So please be free to give us some more imput.
  6. Just a tip, set your BIOS on "AUTO" when it comes to the shared MEM part. If you set it to any thing else it slows down the VGA card. Let me know if it helped .
  7. Try to update your BIOS. Also did you set your BIOS well or are you new to this?
  8. Why an Opteron? I would go for: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16819103052 Any way, set your MEM-timings higher and try T2 for the RAM.
  9. Alright, listen, don´t worry about the caps that are already leaking stuff, nothing will come from it to you, unless you eat them . I think he just wanted to scare you... I also got a load of those mobos here, DELL MEXICO will not replace them and DELL USA says that it´s my problem that I live in Mexico . Some times replacing those caps will do the trick, but most of those rotten mobos have bad southbridges too, so for example no IDE response or what ever. Good thing that they will send you new ones, I wish DELL MEXICO was so nice to do that...
  10. Well, you are one of few I think. What I see is that people, non-enthusiasts, buy a system and use it for 2 or 3 years or so, then they start to complain about the speed. In 2 to 3 years hardware changes a lot as you know and there for most people will sell there complete system or just the motherboard/CPU/RAM combination while it´s still worth something. After that they buy there new system, or partly for just a few bucks more.
  11. I agree with that... Just a tip, take the ones that have 6 powercells and up.
  12. Don't forget AM2+. Upgrading? so you exchange only your CPU? Naa, most people will exchange there mobo with the CPU, DDR3 isn’t a big deal still so don’t look for upgradeability of CPUs or RAM. I would take a look at PCI-E and RAM slots combined with features and OC opportunities (if you like that), 2 RAM sloth’s isn’t enough in my opinion. I would say iNTEL in your targeted price range, but remember that iNTEL based mobos are still more expensive then an AMD based board with the same features.
  13. Or save the extra bucks and use them to buy a new card in 2 years or so? That’s what I would do... S3 made a texture compression, now there seems to be a newer technology in the make that compresses better without to much performance loss. Tried to find the article but can’t find it any more… EDIT: Found it: http://www.bit-tech.net/news/2006/10/04/Ga..._be_70_smaller/
  14. Yup 2x64bit, technically that is, but most people would say 128bit, so do "we" when we talk about 256bit 6800XT with 512MB for example, but that’s 2x128bit, 128bit like the 256MB version. Any way, next time I will be more "exactly" with my "words", remember that English isn’t my native language .
  15. Well, I would go for the 8600GT, the 128bit MEM-bus doesn’t say so much these days, the bandwidth is more important: We are talking about GDDR3 with 1.1 to 1.4GHz clock. And the new cards have more shaders as well, with more instructions. I would say that these cards perform well for there price, also most people have 17" or 19" screens with a 1280*1024 resolution.
  16. I would sell what you have now and go for that AM2 "upgrade". Most people will tell you to go with iNTEL now but I would go for AMD as well when money is important; Good Socket 775 mobos are way more expensive then the AM2 mobos and AMD CPUs dropped also in price...
  17. Could help us to tell what kind of screen you are using, it would be over kill to use a 8600GT on a 15" TFT screen for example . Other then that, up to 1280*1024 and 4xAA it will do most games without complaining.
  18. Dual channel has nothing to do with the DIMMs you are using, it´s the motherbaord chipset, that one supports 128bit, dual channel, configurations of RAM. Single channel would be 64bit. Dual channel vs Single channel will give you a verry small boost, like some 3% or so...
  19. Well, it doesn´t suppose to do that... If the shop is around the corner I would take it back just to be safe...
  20. Looks like resonance of a component. Could come of the "power supply / power converter" of the card.
  21. Depends on what brand, b/c iNTEL and AMD have also 35W CPUs... So, if you compare the 65W against 85W I would sure pay a few bucks more; Less heat, les power (bill). I used to have a cybercafé, so for me that would be 10(PCs)*20(Watt)*14(hours a day)*0.2(Max. Use of the CPU)*365(Year)=204.4kWh a year . Not that much but it helps... More important is your PSU and your VGA card, also the latest iNTEL chipsets are powerhungry...
  22. Newer chipsets will not have PATA any more... @ ripken204, I can bend my PATA cables in a way that you will not even see it, and I´ll asure you it will have no negative effect, at least not for the temperatures or noise level of the PC. I use SATA drives for future upgrades of the PC´s I sell... just my 2 cents .
  23. The 8500 scores HALF the points in 3Dmark of the 8600? I wonder who likes to buy a 8500 then...
  24. Yes, it is, but there are still not so much appz and games that are using DX10, that´s what nitroshift is saying.
  25. And there is LiteON, no complains here of there SATA interfaced optical drives .
