Okay, looked at the cases a bit but I can´t open the pages from newegg right now, I´m going to try that in the night, could be a traffic problem or so. What I would not buy is the Thermaltake case, just to much bells and no quality; flimsy materials and cheap looking plastic, if you know what I mean. The CoolerMaster cases are are nice, not too flimsy 0.8mm SECC steel and good plastic makes it an atractive case on the outside, and in the inside you have lot´s of space for a Mid-tower. The Dragon is a Full-towercase. Are you going to place the PC on the ground? If so I would look at a case that has airfilters that you can clean easely. Going to take a look at it in the night again, I will keep you informed when I see some thing nice at newegg . EDIT: I saw the RAIDMAX SMILODON, I like the design of it, how it´s constructed, but that´s just me. You were asking for Chieftec? Now I remembered that CHENMING has exacly the same cases as they do and they sell them at Newegg as well. CoolerMaster CM Media 281 is one of my favorite cases from noe, it just came out. And if I needed more space then CoolerMaster Stacker would be my first choice altrough some people say it looks ugly by design but they don´t have style . The thing is that I don´t know your budget, what you are going to do with it and your taste, well, besides the cases you posted .

First of all, RAM should not be write only, what is the use of that? Never had it and it must be some thing new you found out? Check your mother bouard specs, see if it can handle 512*8 for example, I´m almost sure if it´s for your old dual Xeon mobo it will need 512*16 or even 512*32. PC100/133 isn´t a thing to worry about .

Cheaper, they are about the same price now. When you buy old stock you could get is cheaper but the CPU new is the same price. 6 Months would be a nice time to fix a lot of "driver bugs", last info I got from VISTA was there problem with loads of printers. I have VISTA runing on a system here, new laptops are stuffed with it that I sell but for now, to me, it doesn´t give me any better options then XP. Even people ask me to sell a XP licence after 1 month using VISTA. I also tell them the same as you are saying about VISTA but people are not willing to change there habits so fast... The Bride-chip for the 6600 PCI-E can be used to make it compatible with any AGP sloth, so I´m not that supprised .

@ Ripken, Nice setup indeed, nothing wrong with it. @ clonesauce, I would still be using the PATA drive, why not. Just make sure that you buy a mobo that has 2 PATA connectors on it or you could buy a mobo with one PATA por and buy a SATA DVD-RW from LiteON for example. For ACAD-like APPS any video card with openGL 2.0 will so fine, so the 7900GS like ripken stated would be the best buy at this moment.

Or just open the box and tell us what mobo you have . That will tell us half the specs of your PC (less the speed)

Yes, it will work fine. You have to see it like this: The CPU has the fuctions to run 64bit APPS but works well, and for intel, even better on a 32bit OS. Like most people would say, stay away from VISTA for next 6 months or so .

I gues the basic BIOS doesn´t have that option to OC and most 400MHz chipsets will take 125 to 133MHz any way when it normaly runs on 100MHz (and the RAM supports it too ).

nitroshift is right, it´s the FSB. Now it works on 400(100)MHz and it should be on 533(133)MHz FSB. Isn´t there a BIOS from MSI it self that will give you more options? Or just a modded BIOS?

Indeed, the airflow has to come from the sides, so, what I would do is to make a fan-duct or a windtunnel over the CPUs and use the 12cm fan on full speed in he back. Just use thick carboard-paper and tape and nock your self out .

If you look at the white-papers from iNTEL you can see that they have just one L2 cache so they must be wrong or it´s something that has to come out in secret or so (new core design?)... If so that could be interesting but for 99% sure they are wrong.
