1. So, I NEED a floppy drive? The mobo came with a CD with drivers and I browsed it, no SATA drivers. I tried to boot from it but it didn't work.
2. Ok, I changed the boot order so I booted from the CD first, and it seemed as if the DMI Pool Data was verified, however... When I load Windows Setup, it tells me no drives were detected. I have SATA enabled in my BIOS and it is working because I can feel it vibrating. It is picked up when my PC scans for SATA drives, too. What's going on? ..... why can't computers be nicer to me...
3. Ok, I just switched my old WD 120GB IDE drive with a Seagate 160GB SATA2 NCQ drive and enabled SATA in my BIOS, and ever since then, when it gets to "Verifying DMI Pool Data.........." it won't go any further. Any ideas?
4. I tried that before, didn't like it so much. I don't know how much easier than BitComet/uTorrent it can get, really...
5. I tried VLC player once and hated it. My setup is the same as DigeratiPrime's and I've had it that way for a long time. I haven't found a clip/movie I couldn't play yet.
6. Torrents now dominate something like 50% of p2p today. All the other "connect to the network/server" type things are dead or dying. BitComet / uTorrent / Azureus are the top 3 preferred BitTorrent clients from what I've read/heard.
7. ****, all the good ones are taken... Hmm.... Moist Sensual Fellatio Naked My girlfriend thought of the 3rd one.
8. Highly experienced user who knows how to maintain the PC and what programs to get the job done right/nLite = bugfix
9. Happy New Year, Everyone! A special HNY to PuntoMX, FDV, RyanVM, Nuhi, DigeratiPrime, DL, and Zxian!
10. That's not entirely accurate, it depends mostly on the peers/leechers. I have got 115 KB/s from a 0 seed torrent before and there were several peers.
11. You weren't initially specific enough.
12. Ooouuucchh...
13. Heh, even if I had generic components, I still wouldn't pick up the phone to call tech support. I can fix most problems myself. If I can't, I ask on MSFN!
14. Use isopropyl alcohol to clean the heatsink. It takes whatever's on there right off.
15. What's a floppy drive? Don't have one in my system, Windows doesn't know what it is either thanks to nLite.
16. Everyone's a critic.
17. Isn't Kazaa dead? I would expect nothing but fake files and virus-infested archives from that p2p. Torrents are taking over. Oh and friends' FTPs.
18. Yes, TMPGEnc Plus is, imho, the best professional encoder. TMPGEnc DVD Author comes with many elegant templates for DVD Authoring which multiplexes the .AC3 audio with the MPEG-2 (.M2V) files. These are the formats I've used and most commonly seen used by others.
19. TMPGEnc DVD Author or DVDAuthorGUI (free)
20. Geez, that Simon dude has almost 10000 posts. That's crazy.
21. Just use one. Type it in 5 times and you've got it mastered. Don't use a word. Use a combination of letters and numbers. Does XP support symbols in passwords? I know how to get unbreakable passwords. Check this out. I have one of the letters-numbers-symbols 63-character written down in my notepad. It took me 2 minutes to write it, lol. It'll be my master password for when I use Hamachi in conjunction with my future network.
22. FLAC, I guess. I have a friend who is as picky about audio as I am about video. Too bad I don't have a working FireWire port on my DVC or the patience to script with AviSynth... oh well...
23. I currently have 64 movies. I collect thrillers (supernatural, suspense, psychological), ones with good stories, good actors... good reviews at www.imdb.com
24. Currently 286.
