1. Of course you can't see a clear winner. Everyone has different preferences and these different preferences cause people to prefer different software. Otherwise, everyone would say the same thing and the thread would be called "Post Here To Say Sygate", for example. You have to go out and try the different software so you can determine first-hand which one suits you best. Personally, I can't stand resource hogs. Then again, I don't need to bother taking time to test different software since I have a Hardware firewall (Router) as I stated in my last post.
2. Media = Media Player Classic (1.3 MB) Audio = 1By1 (46 kb) What do both of these have in common? 1. They are both small in size. 2. They don't install, they are simply exe's that you open and use. Simple as that. 1By1 is only for MP3s through so if you want multiple audio formats, this one's not for you.
3. Some Trance song I got from Suprnova.org through BitTornado.

Quick Launch

Lol, I meant other than that...
5. I use Opera 7.54. I hope someday Nuhi, the developer of nLite, figured out how to _completely_ disintegrate IE from XP because it S-U-C-K-S!. There are only two things I don't like about Opera. 1. For example, when I am refreshing these forum pages and sometimes the last few tiny images fail to load and the progress bar stays active and the images simply sit unloaded with the bracket-text. How to fix this? 2. When a site of images is loading and I click an image and suddenly the rest of the site stops loading to load the newly clicked on image. How to fix this? Other than that, NO Spyware, NO Pop-Ups. I use Admuncher to take care of Ads too. So even less junk on the page.
6. I have a router so I don't bother with software firewalls. People with only one PC (no network) even use a router just because it is a hardware firewall. And using a software firewall overtop of a hardware firewall is NOT a good idea.
7. PerfectDisk. I noticed that after an offline defrag, the Metadata section had moved to a different location. I do like the SmartPlacement feature to move files (depending on usage) closer to the HD for faster access. Diskeeper locked up my system, it sucks But I do like the things said about O&O Defrager in this thread. I am all for faster boot time, does it decrease it a lot? Well, I tried O&O and it seemed to have a bit more to defrag, but not much. Everything was pretty organized already from PD. And since PD has the SmartPlacement feature, I think I will stick to that. Vopt had a lot of features, though.

Quick Launch

Is there a way to get Quick Launch to focus on more than 3 icons? When you move it to the right to sit right next to the System Tray and once the 3 icons are there, you can't move it any further. Is there a way to make it do that if there is 4 or 5 icons, instead of 3 and the little arrows appearing that you have to clikc on to make the other two to appear above?
9. For example, when I unpack Nero's installer and it quickly scrolls down a list of files that have been uncompressed before the Installer window takes over the desktop and gets me to click Next several times....Where do these files unpack to?
10. What directory are these files stored in?

12. Well, I don't really know...I haven't seen so many people report bugs with nLite...everyone's getting invalid lines or BSODs or whatnot. Nuhi has some work to do...
13. The battery and the codecs things are drivers that aren't digitally signed. It's just a problem with Driver Signatures. Make sure you are using the latest version of nLite. This glitch was apparently fixed in .7 Beta 2.

Yo.

No, I don't spin yoyos for a living. Look at my profile.
15. The lack of grammar, such as periods really makes this hard to understand....
16. Almost 8000 posts...holy Aaron. lol Yeah? Well I have 3 stars! Ha! Lol, I bet you have the ability to fill your tank up with them.
17. *Sigh*....think about it....that's 6 months...that amount of time is not going to pass by without updates/upgrades....reformatting every 6 months isn't a bad thing either....
18. Maybe Alanoll can create a topic for these Perfoemance Counters and put all related posts in it. I did that tweak to disable them on both mine and my gf's PC. What exactly does it do? Are counters and monitors seperate?
19. Well, as for the Performance Monitors, I think it would be a good idea if Nuhi found them all and made a reg tweak in the Tweaks section called "Disable Performance Monitors" for users to use that way. But of course that's only a suggestion coming from a person who thinks getting rid of them all would be a good thing. A better thing than a reg tweak would be to find all the files that are associated with them and remove them. Once again I am in the unknown.
20. From what dirtyepic said, it sounds like these things are massive. If each and everyone of these things were found and disabled/removed...I bet XP would be Windows QP (Quick Pace). lol I dunno, though. Is it safe to disable Event Log? I these two things that have been bugging me for awhile. "Windows saved user THE-REALM\Jeremy registry while an application or service was still using the registry during log off. The memory used by the user's registry has not been freed. The registry will be unloaded when it is no longer in use. This is often caused by services running as a user account, try configuring the services to run in either the LocalService or NetworkService account." "Windows cannot unload your classes registry file - it is still in use by other applications or services. The file will be unloaded when it is no longer in use." A Service I have disabled or set to Automatic that might not be Microsoft?
21. SO what does disabling all these Performance Counters do? Reduce HD space and increase performance any?
