  1. What lvlolvlo said. I install a VM and then copy it to a new location and then run the copy at the new location. That why when I mess up a VM I just copy a from the original and start over as many times as needed.
  2. Thats because people will spend a stupid amount of money to watch a stupid event. If people would spend a large sum of money to watch a fireman work then the fireman would make more money.
  3. What games will not work with SP1 or SP2? Have you tried here?
  4. First, it's not switching into safe mode, that requires a reboot. If it's not rebooting, it's not going into safe mode. My first guess is that you have active desktop turned on. I've seen this on 98 machines but not XP, but that doesn't mean it can't happen. Right click on the desktop then choose "Properites" > "Desktop" > "Customize Desktop" > "Web". Make sure nothing is selected. However, I don't think that's it, just something to check.
  5. Do you mean your computer reboots and then starts in safe mode?
  6. If you really want to know what he would look like watch Bubba Ho-tep.
  7. I think what Yzöwl is saying is that if you add a bunch of CD to your CD collection, your CD collection will be bigger. If you add a bunch of cars to your car collection, your car collection will be bigger. And so in the same vain, if you add more programs to the Start Menu, the Start Menu will get bigger. The real problem is that the space below has a certain amount of space reserved for frequently used programs. Like Mekrel said, you need to decrease the number of reserved slots for frequently used programs because Windows will display that number of spots even if they are not being used.
  8. It has to be one of two things, a.) it’s a fake b.) it’s their last day on air and they all said f***it. There is too many sexual innuendos for it to not be intentional.
  9. Ok, I ran across this today and had never seen it before. But it left me thinking "WTF"!!!!!!

    Sp1 question

    Why didn't you slipstream SP2?
  11. In reality, you are asking us to help him use an ileagle copy of Windows. That is something that is just not done here. However, if you read our posts right, you have your answeer.
  12. Are you just burning the ISO to a CD? If so, that's the problem. You need to create a Cd from the ISO. In Nero they call it something like create disk from image. It is not warez and it is the right ISO. @jondercik There is no program to run, it's just an ISO or an image of an install CD. All he needs to do is create a CD from that image (ISO).
  13. Not only that, there will be a team of lawyers at your door within a day. They will confiscate all of your computer equipment and you will likely spend the night in jail. And that’s just for starters. /sarcasm
  14. It's not crap! He can't just upgrade. The new PC has SP2, the CD he has is pre SP2. You cannot upgrade useing an older OS. When nLite asks for the Windows CD, use your pre SP2 CD. It will also ask for the SP2 file. I will spit out an ISO file, burn that ISO to CD and use that one to upgrade. nLite can do a lot of other stuff but that's all you really need.
  15. I could be reading your question wrong but I'm guessing that you mean that the new PC has XP Home on it and you want XP Pro. You have a pre SP2 XP Pro CD that you want to slipstream SP2 into. Am I right so far? If so, then just build a SP2 slipstreamed CD from the pre SP2 Pro CD and either a)upgrade XP Home to Pro or, b)do a fresh install with the SP2 slipstreamed CD. I haven't used nLite for a while but I think what it is asking for is the pre SP2 CD. Of course their is the leagle issue here. That pre SP2 cd that you use to make the slipstream CD can only be used on one computer. So it should be removed from whatever computer it was installed on.
  16. I was going to "point by point" discuss the faults here but I just don't know where to start. However, XPerties summed it up very well.
  17. Just get a thumb drive and keep your stuff on that, then just take it with you.
  18. If you go to 01communique's profile you will see a legit web site for the software. The site doesn't look thrown together either. He should have linked to that site instead of the download file. I still smells of SPAM though. And I also think the linke should be removed.
  19. Why would I install another remote access program when I have Remote Desktop already there. And, I have only seen one Remote Desktop solution that is better, Citrix. And your post does sound an awful lot like spam. And your link is to a file, not a web page that has the program to download. My response is "Oh Hell No". Blindly downloading and running an exe file is what stupid users do. And $100 a year, your joking right?
  20. I have been useing TS sence NT4 and have never had a blue screen from a TS session. I'm not saying it can't happen, it is Windows after all.
  21. In my opinion using EFS works very well but is a bad idea if you don’t fully understand the importance of the recovery certificate. Without the certificate you will not be able to access you files if you re-install from a crash or put that drive in another computer to get the files. If you go this route, be **** sure you export the recovery certificate and keep it in a safe place!
  22. After it is installed, you cannot change the drive letter of the OS partition.
  23. For me, it all made better sence after I watched Animatrix. It seemed to fill in a few peices of the puzzle.
