It worked for me. It's a zipped up .exe file.

First, if it only takes them 3 months to record a new album then they are not spending the time they need to be spending to create a quality piece of work. Second, if what they create is high quality material then yes they should get paid accordingly. That way if good music is put out by an artist then they will get paid good for a long time but if poor music is put out, they will go broke. That way the music market is driven by quality of goods, not corporate greed.

The most successful artists make it by touring. They are the working musicians. Look at “The Greatful Dead” who made a boat load of money over the years and they promoted the idea of fans recording their concerts and passing around the taps. They did everything just the opposite of how the RIAA thinks it should be done, and they where one of the top money making groups in history. Another is “Pink Floyd”. They make the bulk of their money from tours. Not only does the RIAA screw its customers, they screw the musicians too. I can say these things because I am a retired working musician and I know how it works form experience. After over 25 years in the business I gave up because it is no longer about making good music first and then let the good music make money. It’s now about making money first and then putting out crap music to try to support the money. It is truly a sad state of affairs. I would like to see all musicians self produce, promote, and sell their works on the internet so that they are free to create the music they want and the bulk of the money made goes straight in their pocket. That way if they are truly good, they will survive, and if they are bad, they will just go away. But the control would be entirely in the musician’s hands. And it’s the loss of that control is what the RIAA doesn’t like. They are scared and are fighting with every tool they have to retain that control. But I believe they will loose in the end, and that will be a good thing for all. That’s my rant, I’ll go back to my corner now

windows 2003: would really appreciate help!
Ge0ph replied to clouds's topic in Windows 2000/2003/NT4
I'm sure if someone paid around $1500 for software, they would have the CD. He clearly said that a friend installed it so he doesn't have the CD, meaning "He doesn't have the CD" All of that is really a moot point because it is obvious that (no offence clouds) XP is more his level of OS. That’s why I said XP would be better for his use. -

My first suggestion would be to go buy a copy of XP and install it. Why? I don’t think it’s very smart to be advertising that you are using a pirated copy of a Microsoft Enterprise product. And for your use, XP would be much better. -
what would you charge for pc repair reates, etc...

Here in southern Idaho I have been doing this for around 12 years. I get $35 an hour for in shop work and $55 an hour for on site work. I will not do work for end users and do only small business's. I get a stedy amout of work but not enough to make a living. To keep it together I also own a vending/amusment device route and play music on the weekends. Last summer I was offered an IT job that would pay me $24 and hour, 40 hours a week , 52 weeks a year and no mention of not doing the work I was currently doing. I took the job 'cause that's about as good as it gets. -
Right click on the program file, choose "Properites". Choose the "Compatibilty" tab. It should be clear what to do from there.

Can my IIS host my own dot.com
Ge0ph replied to shuntang's topic in Server - Side Help (IIS, Apache, etc.)
All you need is a static IP and then have your A record point to that static IP. You should at least use a SOHO router and point port 80 to the PC on your network that hosts the site. -
It will fit on a CD with lots of room left over.

About 6 months ago I was able to get a 18" Mitsubishi with a DVI input for $379. The spec are very good on it and it is one of the best looking monitors I have ever used. When I say nice looking I mean the picture quality is outstanding. I still remember when a basic 17" CRT cost between $500 and $700 so under $400 for a good 18" LCD is a bargin to me. My last 19" CRT lasted me almost 6 years and I expect to get close to that out of my new LCD. However, hard drives come and go so fast and are so cheap I find it silly to compare the benefits of buying one to the other.

NT4 doesn't support USB. You will need at least W2k to use your USB ports.

I would check for adware, spyware, and virus's.

Married for 21 years now. First, only, and last wife. Three kids, 20, 16, and 14. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Yes, two NICs in one box. One is connected to your broadband connection and the other is connected to your LAN connection. That way every thing coming in goes through the router(NT box) and then out to the LAN. However, I think it would be better if you just dumped NT and put something like Clarkconnnect on that box for routing.

Explain please.

As far as I know having the same user name as the PC name will not and cannot work. The fact that you have done this is interesting but it should not work, ever. I’m surprised by doing this you haven’t’ had all kinds of network and PC problems (or maybe you have). My advice would be to set it up properly by using different names for user and PC on the same PC.

All I get is a "Page not Found" message with the links you provide. However, the second one does take me to what looks like a paypal page that redirects me to a page not found.
-
That's odd, I use Paypal on a daily basis and when I go to PayPal I see nothing about it.

That looks like an itchy and scratchy cartoon. That was good.

You should be able to update your system with either NTFS or FAT32 partitions. However, why don't you want to use NTFS? It is far better then FAT32.

Works for me too.

You can set the auto login with the "control userpasswords2" command. As far as the shutdown and startup time, it's a server and should be turned on and left on, that's how servers work. However, my 2003 servers (when I do restart them) only takes a few minutes to restart. I find 2003 boots faster then XP. With out knowing your hardware and what software you are running it's hard to say why it is taking so long.

To do this they would have to hire a lot of people. Just think of how good for the economy this would be
