  1. The Regaud and Regvid switches don't apply for all users... so i am doing it with an autoitscript now...
  2. itsa standard question... probably server problems... try later!
  3. .RAM samples: http://service.real.com/realplayer/test/ ("cannot render file") Your system internal WMP protocoll settings are corrupt in any way. If you use MPC you must have the correct WMP system settings. (MPC ->MediaPlayerClassic; WMP -> WindowsMediaPlayer) cu web It works here with Opera 8.02 / FF . <{POST_SNAPBACK}> my system internal WMP protocol? Could you give some more info about that? How can it be corrupt if I removed wmp+codecs and didn't modify anything? Anyway, I am waiting for the Dutch version of RVM 1.3.1 (will be released this week I think), will create a new Nlited windows...last one I used was version .99 or so.. will test again... haven't tried the realmedia solutions yet... but I thought I wasn't the only one with that problem. installing a pack for Windows N... well..I don't like that... ttpack should be enough... these minor bugs aren't worth installing something else.. and if Web doesn't have the .wmv problem neither should I I will create a new Nlited windows and test.
  4. the new Nlite (beta 6) fixes something with NVRAID (reboot, post install ?) !!
  5. just remove paint with Nlite and install paint.net silently... what's tricky about this standard basic method?
  6. @Laurens, I don't have a clue actually how to do that... I am sure I found it here on MSFN forums... don't know where! but it must be on MSFN somewhere....
  7. If one person just installs Firefox, start it with the default profile, and apply the tweaks he wants, then create an SFX of the default profile and let RunOnceEx extract it after Firefox installs. This way everyone can apply the tweaks by his/herself, you will know what tweaks have been applied. Not that I am against Simonsays packs, but it is just so easy. These are the tweaks I use by default: - network.http.max-connections --> 64 - network.http.max-connections-per-server --> 21 - network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server --> 8 -network.http.pipelining & network.http.proxy.pipelining both --> True Here is a very good Dutch Guide for uA Firefox with tweaks.
  8. About NVE: Nero Vision Express only, without Nero Digital and all other apps, is very handy. If you have a camera (with firewire) you can use Nero Vision to import the movie and do some editing. Very nice. After that, to create a mpg stream or prepare to burn it on DVD, there are better quality encoders that can do it. Like HC encoder. About NeroCheck: I use a regtweak to remove Nerocheck from starting at startup, do it like this for a very long time now. Even before I used NCAB and Felix method. Nero Burning Rom, Nero Tools, Cover Designer, Nero Express and Nero Vision Express al keep running perfectly. Nero Check just checks if the atapi and other cd/dvdrom related drivers and files aren't being modified or deleted by other apps or viruses. Completely useless. I delete the file also with my cleanup.cmd (added it to this batch long time ago). I actually thought NCAB removed it! This is one of the first files I would remove when shrinking Nero.
  9. OR you could manually install them (silently ofcourse) by registering with the .inf file, I don't know the normal way to do this, but if you run your RunOnceEx at T12 like me, than this (the .inf method) is the best way: REG ADD %KEY%\021 /VE /D "Codecs" /f REG ADD %KEY%\021 /V 1 /D "rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 128 %CDDRIVE%InstallApps\Codecs\huffyuv.inf" /f REG ADD %KEY%\021 /V 2 /D "rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 128 %CDDRIVE%InstallApps\Codecs\xvid.inf" /f in this example, Huffyuv encoder (best AVI lossless encoder) and Xvid encoder are installed, the files xvidvfw.dll and xvidcore.dll are in my $$/System32 folder, and the xvid.inf file is in my InstallApps folder (where all my setupfiles are). I don't need decoders to be installed, so no crazy codecpacks for me, I just use ffdshow. So only thing that has to be done if you want to silently install codecs is: 1. place the .dll files in system32 2. install using the .inf file
  10. Use Apatch, it is far better then the mess.be tool How I did my MSN Messenger 7: 1. Installed it, 2. then ran http://www.apatch.tk/ to patch and modify MSN (This has A LOT more options then the Universal Patcher of Mess.be). after patching is finished you'll see there are 2 files with a .bak extension in program files\MSN Messenger, these files are backups of the originals. The new files have identical names but with .exe and .dll extension. 3. What does this mean? It means you can simply add these two files (the .dll and .exe) to a SFX rar or 7zip archive and let it extract after you have silently installed MSN Messenger 7 How easy can it be!
  11. @titou2k will there be a release soon fixing the problem above?
  12. Well it is just a inf file in wich you can edit text and buttons! the inf is in English so everyone can use it! actually I found this somewhere on the internet, didn't create it myself. I found the background image somewhere else. So I don't have a clue how to modify the buttons itself (the inf file let you choose how many buttons, where to place them and their names, where to place the infotext and the contents of it). Making 3d buttons would mean editing the .exe file... I tried to find the original source of this thing... I'm pretty sure found it here on MSFN, but with a different background..
  13. What do you all think of this? In this case the text is in Dutch but you can modify it easily, you can pick whatever background you want, create as many buttons you want and specify where to place them. Also some infotext is shown when the mouse is hovered over a button. autorunsetup.rar
  14. ok but after he did that, the screensaver is not enabled by default... Im not home but I know there is a regtweak for this!
  15. You could also decide to perform these tasks at the end (you still have to create users before you begin, install network etc). In that case you can use WIHU, try a search.
  16. Try WIHU, excellent for post install..
  17. "integrating" Shockwave: If you have shockwave still installed, just sfx the files np32dsw.dll & ShockwavePlugin.class and thats all you need if you have and use Netscape, Firefox or Mozilla browsers. Just make sure the sfx extracts the files to "%ProgramFiles%\Mozilla Firefox\plugins\" if you use Firefox, or the similar path if you use SeaMonkey (formerly the Mozilla Suite). The browser will automatically recognize it. no installation required: Faster and uses less space on your CD/DVD. Same method for Flash btw. I don't know about IE.
  18. no problem, like mentioned in my post, Office needs some attention (see the link) and codecs won't get installed correctly, see the fix in for codecs in my post. If you use codecpacks, test if everything works, if not, make sure the codecpack is installed by a second RunOnceEx running after restart (like I mentioned). I don't like codecpacks... just use ffdshow, real&quicktime alt. All of them will install correctly and work fine. (actually I now only use the TTPACK from here.) the nice thing is, everything you do at T12 will work for every useraccount. cmdlines.txt [COMMANDS] "RunOnceEx.cmd" "REGEDIT /S regtweaks.reg" "gebruikers.cmd" "CHKNTFS /T:0" "rundll32.exe iernonce.dll,RunOnceExProcess" (btw 'gebruikers' is Dutch for 'users') (EDIT: I don't have any experiences with silent hotfixes... I just use the dutch updatepack with Nlite.)
  19. @Daniel: before you do ANYTHING, read http://unattended.msfn.org/ at least the BEGINNER and INTERMEDIATE section, not once but over and over again until it makes some sense... that's how everyone learns how things work.. now check this quote: please read carefully first... the answer is right there.
  20. I do almost everything at T12... why? it's faster: doesn't need a restart! and I like it better... it seems more streamlined. For running your RunOnceEx at T12: cmdlines.txt [COMMANDS] "rundll32.exe iernonce.dll,RunOnceExProcess" add this line to your cmdlines, it should be the last line. to make sure Office will install: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...39entry365639 If you install some codecs manually, you'll need to modify something: for example: REG ADD %KEY%\021 /VE /D "Codecs" /f REG ADD %KEY%\021 /V 1 /D "rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 128 %CDDRIVE%InstallApps\Codecs\huffyuv.inf" /f REG ADD %KEY%\021 /V 2 /D "rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 128 %CDDRIVE%InstallApps\Codecs\xvid.inf" /f it's the number 128 that does the trick, by default this is a different number, then codecs won't be installed since you are working in some kind of local user account. Why would you like to have a selection at T12? after T12 installation still takes some time, isn't it better to provide selections at the end? so the user won't have to wait for Windows Setup to finish after he made his selection? This is how I do it: The final item of my RunOnceEx (running at T12) is: REG ADD %KEY%\040 /VE /D "Jobs after restart" /f REG ADD %KEY%\040 /V 1 /D "%CDDRIVE%InstallApps\InstallSettings\RunOnceEx.cmd" /f This way a second RunOnceEx will run, at the time it normally would have run (after setup finishes and the pc restarted). With this RunOnceEx I do some small jobs and I run WIHU. With WIHU you can create selections and the user will have the possibility to create accounts, give pcname etc. do a search for WIHU and you'll find everything you need. good luck.
  21. will test when the new ryanvmpack arrives... the older version has worked fine with me.
  22. I never had any sfc popup... since version 0.8x or something... always have sfc disabled ofcourse. Can anyone give a reason why keep sfc enabled? ofcourse it is nice Nuhi put so much time in it, but was it really necessary?
  23. but won't this extension open all media in the external viewer, also the ones that played correctly in the browser?
