Like I posted a while ago, it seems A-patcher just modifies 2 files (and renames the old ones to .bak). But just to be sure, I made an rarsfx of the whole folder of MSN Messenger. I will test if there are any registry changes made (you can test this very easily with Regshot). But I don't think so...

alright I am going to use all your packages now too! Don't like to install unuseful things btw someone posted a while ago that the original codecs (xvid and divx) have better quality then ffdshow... I am not going to test things out (not time at all) since ffdshow gives me superb quality already and with Auto q. control no high cpu usage...

Finished my WIHU now, also put it in my autorun.exe (with the proper switches) so people can select optional software if they forgot to select it at the end of the uA setup. just ooone more small question: At the selection window, on the right there is a warning: no information available for this item. Is it possible to get the descriptions for the items in that place? instead the descriptions are now below each item, and it is even possible to select it... while it is just a description.

I've made my own default profile (by starting Firefox using the default profile)... it works fine with my unattended install... I did NOT modified download location. Now I have this annoying problem: The computer I modified the default profile was logged in to my account (Zilexa). Now on pcs installed with my unattended disc, if I download something in Firefox, it gets downloaded to: C:\Documents & Settings\ZILEXA\DESKTOP (all in capitals) instead of the desktop of the current user... How can I change this? it is VERY annoying!

ok thanks for the info. For the TTPack this might help you: http://www.illiminable.com/ogg/ contains the Directshow filters for Ogg vorbis and Flac (also Theora and Speex). I tried ffdshowLite, but there is no Configuration anymore! So I can't enable Subtitles (or set 1 folder for all the subtitles) or Postprocessing... at least subtitles are very usefull...

I did it like this to make sure My pictures and My music is also correctly set: wmp.dll.version = %SystemRoot%\System32\wmp.dll?version Personal = D:\%ThisUser% My Pictures = D:\%ThisUser%\Mijn afbeeldingen My Music = D:\Music My Video = D:\Videos I don't want a personal folder for Music (like "MY music"), nor for video. Do want one for Pictures, and I am using Dutch winXP so My pictures is translated to Dutch. And it works perfectly! but what is wmp.dll.version for? I removed WMP+codecs with Nlite... like explained here: http://ksphere.free.fr/site/codecspackage.php so I still have WM streams support... would it be save to remove this line? And also, is it possible to have the checkbox for "give Admin rights" always enabled? I tried adding group = 1 to [Environment] or group.x = 1 to [users] but it doesn't enable the checkbox.. sorry for going offtopic and asking so much questions but I don't want to create a new topic for this question.

@titou2k what is the difference between your Real/Quicktime and the Real/Quicktime Alternatives? also between ffdshow and ffdshowlite?

I am going to use WIHU now too, especially for the easy user creation and PC/workgroup name. And for some optional software I sometimes want to install. Do have a question, I would like to set the "My documents" folder to D:\%ThisUser% as default in the install.ini. So I don't have to set this for every user I create... but how do I do that? I tried the following (adding 'Personal'): [Users] ; Home = %Personal% ; default = 1 ; fullname = New WIHU user default full name ; Personal = D:\%ThisUser% It doesn't do the trick...

Now that I am actually watching my unattended install, I can see SetupCopyOEMInf.exe working... actually the end.cmd file wich runs at the end of my RunOnceEx would restart the pc in 30sec... I managed to avoid this by running shutdown /a quickly... the SetupCopyOEMInf.exe was integrating.. for a loong time... the first time I tested, this exe could never finish... what does this thing actually do? sorry for the double post, the button to edit my previous post is missing...

Hi there... sorry for creating a new topic about this, but I searched a lot! Filezilla Server can be installed silently with the /S switch, but when installation finishes it askes to connect to the local server... 2 processes are started and this is how I try to kill them: REG ADD %KEY%\016 /V 3 /D "taskkill.exe /F /IM "Filezilla server interface.exe"" /f REG ADD %KEY%\016 /V 4 /D "taskkill.exe /F /IM "Filezilla server.exe"" /f BUT it doesn't work! AND I don't really like this method. Anyone knows a 'cleaner' method? I also have to use this regtweak to make sure the mentioned processes are not started at every windows startup: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] "FileZilla Server Interface"=-

Is it possible to disable SFC only for certain files? Disabling SFc is not an option for me. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It IS possible however to enable SFC at the end of your unattended windows install... it can be done by a regtweak or by enabling some services... I am not sure... but I do know disabling SFC does not have to be a permanent modification. Search for more info on the unattended guide and these fora.

Ok thanks for the info. Perhaps an idea (but think it is already mentioned and considered) to add all these drivers to the drivers.cab archive of windows? at least it will be compressed then (with the highest compression available for cab)..

hp38user you'll need 512 MB ram memory for 7zip @ Ultra... otherwise process will never finish.. indeed Maximum takes lot less memory, the difference might not even be 1 mb... at least not more then 3 mb... (extracting goes fast with both ultra and maximum). @`Felix`: Just created a new custom Nero... with these apps: set tlist="CoverDesigner" "Nero Toolkit" "NeroVision" and added my own serial to register.reg also disabled quicklaunch icons in post_config: set enableQL=0 thats all! Now I still have a very old bug, I thought you found a solution for this long time ago! - When starting Coverdesigner from Nero Express, I get the error "no Cover Editor installed". and other bugs: - no shortcut for NeroVision is created; - when trying to launch Nerovision (from "C:\Program Files\Ahead\NeroVision\w2k\NeroVision.exe") I get the message "One of the application components could not be loaded, please re-install". --> The shorcut part of post_config.cmd checks if Ahead\NeroVision\NeroVision.exe exists, but this file isn't in that location! not even in the NVE-3.1.0.7.exe file. It has to be w2k\NeroVision.exe - no shortcuts for NeroTools (this is strange since the files are there and the .cmd file is correct) - Unknown BurnPhase error (but I didn't had this in the past! thats before I used the .cmd file, so either it has to do with some modifications in recent Nero builds or something else, but before I used the .cmd file I did do it like this method but without a lot of registation of dlls and stuff.. so it is very strange) tried this on a clean Dutch WinXP SP2 + dutch RyanVM updatepack. I actually wanted to test it with Dutch languagepack but I wanted to be sure everything worked without any languagepack and without modifying default lang. in the .cmd file. Could it be I am having these old bugs because I am on Dutch Windows?

OK I am a bit confused about the option to 'keep the drivers' and the 'D' folder on my systemdrive after windows setup. In the past, when there was no option to keep the drivers, I also had a folder 'D' wich I manually removed... Now I selected 'keep the drivers' and I have a folder 'D' of 733 MB on my systemdrive... I am not sure if this is the way 'keep the drivers' work... could anyone verify? 733 mb is a lot... ofcourse it is uncompressed (it is btw very interesting to see the total amount of mbs needed for 'all' windows drivers!).

What if I remove Paint with Nlite, after I finished integrating Xpize? Since Xpize modifies the look of Paint, will all files related to paint be removed by Nlite?

Some lazy people here on MSFN! How I did my MSN Messenger 7: 1. Installed it, 2. then ran http://www.apatch.tk/ to patch and modify MSN (This has A LOT more options then the Universal Patcher of Mess.be). after patching is finished you'll see there are 2 files with a .bak extension in program files\MSN Messenger, these are the original files.. the new ones with the same name are the patched ones. 3. What does this mean? It means you can simply add this folder (program files\MSN Messenger\) to a SFX rar or 7zip archive and let it extract after you have silently installed MSN Messenger 7 How easy can it be!

Also what are the differences between Real/Quicktime Alternative and Real/Quicktime Lite packages? Are they just the same but without MPC? similar as the alternative packs+switch not to install MPC?

I'm having trouble with OfficeShrink... I did everything according to the guide, unattended install works perfectly... but when I start the shrink tool it goes wrong as soon as the installation begins, I get this error (its from the AutoIt script I am sure, because when I click OK, the icon of OfficeShrink in the rightcorner disappears!) Using VirtualPC, Office 2003 Dutch with SP1 and 2 more updates. Did a CLEAN WinXPsp2+ryanvm (dutch) updatepack on virtualPC. Please help!

Are they just the same but without MPC? similar as the alternative packs+switch not to install MPC? btw it is really great to be possible to remove WMP completely and still be able to play everything! @Fridge-Raider don't know about ffdshowlite, but normal ffdshow can give the best videoquality... this is one of the advantages above codecpacks.. and it is low on resources... when you turn on Post-processing (can improve quality a lot!) this requires more from the CPU.
