  1. Being an Apple fanboy myself, it is my duty to correct you - it's called an iPod touch (yes, I know iTouch sounds better, but Apple didn't name it that). I used to have one (now I have a first generation iPhone) and simply loved it. The 2nd generation ones should be a lot better and faster though, so I'd say go for it.
  2. I already wished mine a happy sysadmin day... He's been in a p***ed-off mood all week.
  3. No. If the only option is to reset the HDD, then what you have on the DVD is an image of your HDD for your specific laptop. It doesn't contain any installation files.
  4. The best person to comment on this would be cluberti (I'll send him a PM). I know he's got a MacBook Pro which he only uses with Windows Vista (but maybe Windows 7 now); I can't remember what his exact explanation was for doing so. I've got one too, but I run Mac OS 10.5 as my main OS and virtualize Windows 7 for when I need to use Office.
  5. Why?!?! They need to be set up with bootcamp which requires the Mac OS... smh bigtime... Not true: http://derekhat.com/install-vista-on-a-mac...thout-bootcamp/ <-- He got Vista running without Mac OS on the drive.
  6. You can't have two titles. The Software Devs group permissions and settings will take precedence over the Normal Sponsors group ones. The admins are the only ones who will actually know that you belong to both groups (through the admin panel, of course) - no one else.
  7. Technically, yes, but only the permissions from one of the two groups will apply to your account. I don't know if being a member of the Software Developers group gave you any additional abilities or not, but if you would like to switch back, just let one of us mods know.
  8. So I assume the problem was solved?
  9. Not exactly technology news, but it is technology-related: Source: Calgary HeraldI hope your taxes are in order.
  10. W3bbo, these don't actually conform to the forum rules. Perhaps you can resize them just a tiny bit (width must be less than 300 pixels)?
  11. How resource-dependent would you say it is? I've got Windows 7 RC installed on my MacBook Pro under Parallels with 1GB of memory dedicated to it and use it strictly for using Office. Right now, it's got no security software installed whatsoever (the built-in firewall is disabled too) because I can't justify the need for it when I can simply roll back to a previous working state using Parallels, but it would be nice to have that extra layer of protection "just in case," provided it doesn't use that much CPU power and memory.
  12. Internet Explorer 8 Add-On already exists: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=131344 How to integrate themes onto your CD: http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/view/web/76/ Please use the forum's search function next time!
  13. I sold mine with 5 games for $50. Still have my SNES with Super Mario All-Stars, though.
  14. Hi xardas93s, Welcome to MSFN! Since you are new here, I suggest you take a look at the forum rules, rule 12 in particular. Once you have done so, please change your topic title by editing your post. Cheers,
  15. Hmmm... This is the third time someone's brought up this problem (or at least a similar problem) since I joined MSFN in 2002 (the first time was me, second time was this guy). Give this a shot. Post back if it doesn't help.

  17. What mail program needs admin rights ? He uses the 'Run As' command when using his family's account to run Thunderbird under and using his profile so that he doesn't have to go through the trouble of logging off, and then logging back in as himself.
  18. As far as I know, you can't. You need third-party software to do that. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. Also, please re-read the rules as we've updated them, specifically:
  19. Have you tried searching for one? The one I would have suggested just so happens to be the first result in that search.
  20. My work desktop; I'm too lazy to do anything special to it.
