Firefox 2.0.0.9 and Thunderbird 2.0.0.6 silent with Extensions
Arie replied to HØLLØW's topic in Application Installs
To add all your extensions, configuration and settings, et cetera, that's the only use there is. -
COD4 has been released for PC and XBOX360. I believe for PS...2 or 3 as well, but you would simply need to check the official web site for that. I can't be bothered Up till yesterday I played BF2 single- and multiplayer on PC, but now for singleplayer I've switched to my extended trial version of COD4. Would like to get the full game, but waiting for it to drop in price a bit more

Yep, just add the 7z to the hotfix list like normal That's great. So just for future reference nlite can add .7zip and .rar files without you decompressing them. Are there any other compressed formats it takes like general .zip files? I'm pretty amazed at this little proggy so far. Look at the nLite web site to see which file types are supported. I don't use nLite myself, so I can't tell. What I do know however is that you cannot simply add every archive to your installation and expect nLite to deal with it. Simply extract an archive which was made especially for nLite to see what the contents are like; you will notice that there is an INF-file in the archive root... Or was it INI-file? Anyway, this file is put there on purpose so that nLite knows what to do, et cetera. In short, you cannot simply add every archive to nLite, only archives which are made especially for nLite.

I don't quite understand your question, as the quote you posted seems clear to me, eventhough I don't know this application. Apperantly, according to the text you quoted, you start the application and you right-click on the caption bar, which is the title bar at the top, and you select "Install" from the context menu to install the application. Apperantly running the software does not install it, which means that if you run it now and you reboot your machine, it will not start automatically I assume. By installing it, the software will start automatically. If you wish to uninstall the software, right-click on the caption bar of the application again and choose "Uninstall" to remove the software. What is not clear about this?

You should not extract the files, you just need to add them packaged.

a little problem with this .cmd ;show me the black screen?

You seem to be mistaken as to what @ECHO OFF does. If you want to hide the window, use CMDOW for example; CMDOW @ /HID. To learn what @ECHO OFF does, compare the differences when you run the following two batch scripts: With @ECHO OFF... @ECHO OFF ECHO This is a test PAUSE versus without @ECHO OFF ECHO This is a test PAUSE Hope this helped. -
How to turn on Phishing in internet explorer 7
Arie replied to clivebuckwheat's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Give this a try: HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT -
It's not clear to me what you are doing. Apperantly you are exporting a certain file from Internet Explorer, which you are trying to import in Excel? Do I understand correctly? How do you exactly export and import the file you mentioned? Which version of Internet Explorer and Excel are you using? You're giving too little information to work with I'm afraid.

If you knew this, why didn't you simply change the key back to "checkbox"? -
Anyone?

There will be.

Click here and do a search.

Ehm, why would you want to rename them?

Installed the demo, but only played it once thus far; I like it. Curious about the multiplayer.

You've made a small mistake. Where do you want these new folders to be created? $OEM$\$\My Downloads won't do anything I'm afraid. $OEM$\$1\My Downloads would create a folder My Downloads in the root of your system drive, so for example C:\My Downloads. Also, make sure that your $OEM$ folder is on the same level as your I386 folder. See here as well.

There is, but the current builds are not the final version.

You're well on your way. As suggested above, install Microsoft Windows Defender and Spybot - Search & Destroy, which are both freeware and which will help you protect yourself against spyware. Keep in mind that security is more than just having the right software installed. Configure your system properly. Do not use an account with administrator user rights for your every day work; only use an administrator account when you really need to have administrator user rights. Disable unused services and uninstall unused software. Make sure that your operating system is up-to-date. Proper software is worthless if you do not update it frequently and if you don't configure it properly; have it scan your system on a regular basis for instance. One of the most important things to use is however your own brain; don't simply click on every link, don't simply open every file you receive or download. Handle with care.

Firefox 2.0.0.9 and Thunderbird 2.0.0.6 silent with Extensions

I believe that what "Pistolero" wrote was clear, but I'll rewrite it: - Install Firefox - Install extensions - Configure Firefox and extensions as you wish - Close all open instances of Firefox - Copy the Mozilla directory from %AppData% to another folder; this backup contains all your settings, et cetera which you can restore after install - Create a silent installer of Firefox - Once the silent installer finishes installing Firefox, have it replace your Mozilla directory from %AppData% with the one you backupped Hope this helped. -
Your question is too vague to answer. Please reply what you have done thus far, what tools you have used, which applications and drivers you integrated, what virtual machine software are you using, et cetera. Some tips for starters: Make sure that you're working with a clean, unmodified source. First simply make an unattended install in which you don't include any software or drivers, besides operating system patches. Once this works, you can continue to add tweaks and various applications to your image. Regulary test your image to see if it still works; this makes it easier to troubleshoot any problems that may occur. Good luck!

An easy solution in my humble opinion would be to download Shortcut.exe, which is posted somewhere on this web site and/or forum. Create a silent installer with 7ZIP which executes Shortcut.exe with additional parameters to create your icons. If you use environment variables, you can use it on any system once you've created your self-extracting package.

Nice, cheers

To what language is your keyboard set? US-International, US, et cetera? Try changing to another language; if you're on US, switch to US-International and try again. Also, try using your other ALT key. Don't know if this is of any help at all, but hey, it's worth the shot
