[Release] Adobe Shockwave Player 11.0.0.465
Shark007 replied to Shark007's topic in Application Installs
I checked the installers on both of my repositories, they contain the 22 version. Sometimes hovering over a file will pickup old info from a previous file. Rightclick the file and choose properties to read the actual version. shark -

Welcome to the forums and i have to say .. omg I was such a newb when I 1st stumble in here. Be careful though, the contents of this site can become a lifetime addiction. I've been here over 3yrs and still haven't explored all the content thats available! shark

Yep. This is the solution. In the past, I did not have access to sever statistics. The servers were donated by well meaning people but not allowing access to these vital stats meant I had no control over referers. I now have .htaccess files in place and update them as required to keep leechsites at bay. Now 98% of the referers are coming from MSFN from the files I share in the Vista Codec Package thread. shark

When i take my granddaughter to the local park and we play on a boat there, we make pirates sounds such as arrrrggghhhhh, make em walk the plank captain! so I'm voting yes. My real answer, I downloaded QuickTime Alternate to see why people held it in high praise. I discovered it uses the CoreAVC codec from corecodec.com which isn't available in any trial or shareware form. So I'm guilty of the 1st question in the poll.

I'm guessing you don't want to hear this, but here goes...Its been discussed before, several times.. SEARCH. I'm not saying your search will give you the answers you seek, but at least you will have a better insight into the topic you present. freedom at last. shark

Mainly because this isnt feasible for me. I'm constantly working at improving the Vista Codec Package and this means a lot of testing, installing, uninstalling etc. I have 4 different hdd's each with a different operation system installed and I am constantly rebooting to test under different scenario's. In other words, I am just not connected to the internet constantly/continuously. To add to this, people tend to share only the files they use personally on Bittorent. I offer a full line of language dependant Adobe Reader Lite 8 versions that most people would not be interested in sharing. Maintaining a file repository has worked but when leechsites get a hold of you, its time to shut down. If someone could offer to teach me how to control direct links to files, this would be appreciated. Leech sites function on the sole fact they can direct link to the files you offer. I need to learn to break this forcing people to visit the repository site to be able to download from it.

If the plans is to distribute a Windows ISO for testing - its warez. case closed.
-
What is your plan for distribution and testing? Maybe you should keep your infomation on joejoe's board, warez is unacceptable here.

To bad this has gone off topic. The 'random yahoo' you are refering to is me. I am the sole creator of the Vista Codec Package and with the input of MSFN users (not you of course) this package is the best that there is available for Vista users. If you bothered to click the link above, it would just take to the HomePage of the package which just happens to exist right here on the MSFN forums. The VCP even detects native Microsoft codecs such as MPEG2 and doesn't install other MPEG2 codecs when these are detected. shark

How do you watch an XviD encoded file? Microsoft doesnt make a codec for this. How do you watch an DivX encoded file? Microsoft doesnt make a codec for this. How do you watch an mkv file? Microsoft doesnt make a codec for this. How do you watch an h264 encoded file? Microsoft doesnt make a codec for this. How do you watch an MP4 file? Microsoft doesnt make a codec for this. How do you listen to a file with AAC audio encoding? Microsoft doesnt make a codec for this. How do you listen to a file with FLAC audio encoding? Microsoft doesnt make a codec for this. This list can go on till my keyboard wears out.... EDIT: after rereading the initial posters query, I see that he/she isnt even trying to play a file, just open MediaCenter. That is definately an odd issue and not related to codecs. But to say not to install anything but Microsoft codecs is to crawl in a hole and miss out on 98% of the currently available media. shark

Do you have the required codecs installed? ... Vista Codec Package shark

I have lost another repository to leechsites overwhelming the GB download limits. This is the 3rd time this has occured. IF anyone can provide me with a server to host my files it would be greatly appreciated. The files hosted are only those specific to switchless installers used by MSFN users. The Vista Codec Package is hosted on Public servers. Many MSFN users find my repositories to be a great resource but I fear the end is near. I am not knowledgable to control leeching. If you have assistance to offer, contact me via Private Messaging. shark

How to upgrade Windows Vista Enterprise to Ultimate
Shark007 replied to raindrop's topic in Windows Vista
Now thats worth quoting! -
When creating my installer the need for msvcp71.dll was detected and added to my installers. I updated the version containing the Media Library accordingly - NOTE: I did not update the versioning shark

Just tossing in my 2 cents worth... Keep up the good work Major, lookin good so far. shark

Do printscreens (using the printscreen button on the keyboard) of various aspects of Vista. Place the saved sceenshots as jpegs in the log'd on users pic folder. Use the builtin screensaver called 'photos' shark

my 2 cents - lol comparing WHS to Win2k3 is similar to comparing a tricycle to a mountain bike. They are diffent animals designed for completely different purposes. shark
