  1. The sharing folder cannoy be removed by editting the MSI. I removed it using the readily available tools that edit the installed files and then placed the new files into the 8.5 winrar redistributable available from my repository. Possible it is the tool you used. You may have to experiement a bit because the sharing folder does not appear on my computer. shark
  2. K-Lite (latest 220) doesnt play the file above either with default settings ..whats your point? Having MPC do the work for you isnt delivering a codec pack, its delivering a player. Make the file play in Windows Media Player, and then you have a codec pack. EDIT don't bother, its obvious you need to use the pirated coreavc codec to make this file even function. * TOPIC CLOSED *
  3. lol, getting a bit frustrated are we... I263 ? lol at the oldest avi format that my grandmother used. VCP version 4.3.5? come on dude, get with the times.. VCP is at 4.4.5 and plays the MP4 just fine. EDIT: OK, I'll give you credit on the MP4, it does fail in 445 but plays fine in current Dev Builds.
  4. Nice of you to stop by clsid. Not often we get to chat directly with K-Lites developer. If this were easy, we wouldnt be creating codec packs now would we. Its been my experience that once you get Windows Media Player to play a file, almost anything will play it. I realize the builtin filters of Media Player Classic can handle this mpeg, but what steps would a K-Lite user have to follow to play it in Windows Media Player? With VCP, the user only needs to doubleclick the file and it plays in WMP9/10/11. Obviously the 1st step to get WMP to play it with KLCP would be to uninstall KLCP because the user used default settings which do not play the file in WMP. This is news? Not to me, I already use it to decode H264 content with VCP. No, VCP breaks the EULA by redistributing files without acquiring proper permission. This also applies to every other program I redistribute here on MSFN. if a copyright holder contacts me asking I stop redistributing their product, I will stop. Nothing new here. This is your explanation for distributing warez? Fair enough. Does this mean you are you offering an mpeg file for testing that plays fine in Windows Media Player using KLCP but VCP can't play it in WMP? 'Out of the box' means it can play the users files with default settings. I've presented 2 files of different formats that VCP plays 'Out of the box' but KLCP cannot. Thank you for the lesson. Average joe reading this calls everything codecs. I do also to be able to communicate with average joe.shark

  7. Sorry, I don't do linux and I discontinued building flash player installers ever since the distributed exe from Adobe accepts the /silent switch. shark
  8. K-Lite released a new version today with this in the changelog; Improved support for MPEG TS I thought for sure the developer had finally fixed that issue of unplayable mpeg files. But nope, it still cant play the mpeg in the above post. Here is a quotation taken from the K-Lite homepage following the halt of distributing QT Alternative: Exactly how is the CoreAVC codec defined as open-source? (K-Lite uses this codec for H264 and QT content)Last time I checked out coreavc.com that was a purchased codec with no shareware version. I have a .hdmov file, Rocky Balboa trailer, which plays the audio, but the video is all shakey using K-Lite. Of course VCP can play this file just fine. The inconsistancies in the K-Lite releases just keep on mounting, while VCP just keeps on playing. shark
  9. I'm sorry but this kind of handholding isnt readily available although it is possible at times. If you try the SEARCH function of the board you may find helping yourself alot quicker. shark
  10. Hi, and welcome to MSFN.This board has a 'search' feature which will assist you in finding what you seek, good luck. shark
  11. Had this been posted in the codec thread you would have received a response much sooner.re-install the x64 package. shark
  12. I have recently discovered an issue with my setup of MPEG1 file handling. This will be corrected for the next release. Had you responded in the codec thread you would have received a response much sooner. You can correct this on your own by changing a single setting in the 'Video decoder configuration' shortcut. In the righthand window change the setting for MPEG1 from libavcodec to disabled by clicking on the setting. Thats not disrespectful. This is best practice. If people have the knowledge to install and setup individual codecs on their own I highly recomend this proceedure for codec setup. I create my codec package for the other 90% of the population who are not capable of doing this. shark

  15. #rootworm, you stand alone with that opinion. I'm sorry you fail to grasp the full power of this utility. Most dedicated users of these forums know that when it gets tough around here, AutoIT will lighten the load. It has rescued me on several occasions as being the 'correct' solution to a difficult situation. * TOPIC SPLIT TO ITS OWN THREAD TO CONTINUE THE DISCUSSION *
  16. This type of notification is usually caused by the installer not being able to replace a file in use such as having your web browser open during the installation. I doubt this will occur during an unattended install, but this is not tested. shark
  17. I realize my releases will not meet everyone's needs. If it wont do something you expected it to do I suggest you uninstall the Lite version and install the full version. shark
  18. Glad to hear it coucou All 8.1 files are available on a public server. shark
  19. The sites are functioning fine, your ISP has also made my blocklist In the past year I have had 3 sites shut down by leechers overwhelming download limits. These repositories are donated by extremely kind MSFN users who DO NOT expect to have to pay extra for going over GB limits. Any site direct linking to my files has their entire ISP added to the block list. I am currently uploading all 8.1 files to a free file server... URL's soon. shark
  20. There are links in my signature to my repositories where the files are distributed. I maintain quite agressive htaccess files in an attempt at keeping leechers at bay. Your ISP must have made it ot my block list. shark
  21. Did you run this command before tring to install Nero? shark
  22. Posted. You're welcome, and thanks for posting that it worked. I cannot test versions other than english. You're welcome also. (killed 2 splash screens actually) shark
  23. Several 8.1 languages are available on my repository. If your language isnt there, and Adobe has it available, post about it here and I'll do a Lite version of it also. shark
  24. There is something complicated about visiting my repository, downloading an already prepared exe file and execting it during installation? oh well... shark
