The MSI version of skype that i created was never offered on my repository. I made it available on Ryan's board with a rapidshare url. shark

Well alot of people click without actually reading and may not notice that they are overwriting only 3 files. If you copy your 4 moddified files to the MSN Messenger directory, that particular file won't get placed where it actually needs to go. shark

I suggest you run a simple batchfile to relocate the shortcut to your prefered location immediately after installation. example: move "%UserProfile%\Desktop\winamp*" "%UserProfile%\Start Menu\Programs\Accessories" shark

There should have been a Desktop shortcut created. (there is one created here) do you use English operating system? shark

sorry for taking so long to reply here. Try re-creating the MSI and DO NOT importing the shortcut table. Possibly this table is language dependant. You can go to the shortcut table in Orca, and delete the desktop shortcut manually. Please report back so that i may revise the tutorial with this information. shark

*discontinued* In lieu of a working silent switch i have discontinued creating this AutoIt installer. Use this command to install in an unattended installation. SPTDinst-v142-x86.exe add /q or SPTDinst-v142-x64.exe add /q shark

I worked with a version of this about 2yrs ago and at that time it was stored in this key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{EAFD99D7-54B6-4e87-8C7C-6A3C85F8997C}\Instance] I don't know if current versions use the same key. shark

Please refrain from offering support for obviously warez'd software. shark

I suggest you test this in a virtual machine such as VMware. It will install OK but the issue you may face is uninstalling. I havent had the time to test svcpack scenario's with v8 but with v7.08 it could not be uninstalled properly when installed via svcpack. I have posted a warning that these installers are NOT svcpack compatible. Using any method after 1st boot like runonceex for example, doesnt have the uninstall issues. shark

To give you some information on the updated WAIK released 02/05/07 The previously released WAIK came with 5 WinPE language packs. The newly released WAIK comes with 25 language packs. All othe files have not changed. Hopefully this information will save alot of people from downloading what they already have. shark

My installer is NO LONGER designated as multilingual ever since i started using the original MSI to perform the installation. If you want to use a language other than English you will need to download the tutorial from the 1st post and follow it to create your own installer in your own language. HINT - The creation of an Administrative Install Point is the secret to adding your patched files. This procedure is also explained in the tutorial. shark

JRE6 has been removed from my site. JRE5 update 11 is in place and I recommend you use that instead. shark
