Huh? what are you talking about? In my computer i have 4 hdd's .. each with a different operating system installed. Through the BIOS i can choose which device (2xSATA and 2xPATA) is my boot up device and the system will see that device as the 'C' drive. Depending which device i set as the boot device, is what the system see's as 'C' drive. shark

Any software that 'phones home' makes me cringe Thanks go out to other users for enlightening me to this activity. Just another software I have no need for. It doesn't matter to me if that call is made daily, quarterly or yearly. It just isnt right. There is NO need for this activity other than the collection of information. I won't visit the softwares homepage either because its my opinion that the producer of such wares is into information collection for whatever purpose and I don't want to be part of it. I put alot of effort into avoiding such softwares and to enlighten others to the activity. shark

You're welcome. Files updated to version 5.34 and may be downloaded from my repository. Of course, the version with Media Library has that option enabled. shark
-
Sounds current to me. - I have not researched the board though. Also if you are unfamiliar with the BIOS settings, please be careful. Making ajustments to things you do not understand can render your computer unbootable. shark
-
look though the BIOS for a setting for Harddrive(HDD) or Boot Order, and within that setting you can set the order which drives are recognized by the system. On older boards often IDE(PATA) is seen before SATA and this aspect cannot be changed. shark

My installers are 7zip self extract archives. If you examine the contents of the Lite version compared to the extreme version you will notice the Lite version has a Windows directory. This is the Microsoft runtime libraries. You may try adding the files within the Lite versions Windows\system32 directory to your system32 directory. This may solve your issue. The winsxs directory is the actual sidebyside information directory but i dont think you can place these files manually because they coincide with registry settings.

My opinion of your situation is that you are experiencing hardware issues. More specifically, caused by overclocking, RAM timings or bad RAM. find and download memtest86 - If any errors are shown, you have a hardware issue. There is an ISO version that can be written to a CDR (bootable) shark
-
SideBySide errors usually indicate missing runtime libraries. The Extreme version is missing them intentionally, but the Lite version does have them. I test on a clean Install of XP SP2 If your operating system is less than this, the installation is not supported. shark

Hi. The file you downloaded seems to be corrupt. Version 4.3.7 is 20.9 MB and has a MD5 = 5a17b56efb5d5b2e0bc1ee178c0ac049 More information and download links are found here. That URL is also the proper place to post comments. I have heard of file corruption like this being caused by download managers. shark

I'm sorry for not being more specific with the file locations. I always try to accommodate non English users whenever practical. Enjoy the repository's usefulness and bookmark it for future use. shark

I create these installers specifically for MSFN users to assist them in creating unattended installation media. This is also the reason why i avoid posting links to my files or my repository. You will need to be a logged in MSFN user to see my signature to get the URL's. shark

Shark007 replied to RogueSpear's topic in Application Installs
RogueSpear is much to busy maintaining others computers to have time to stop making these. It would increase his workload by 1000% ! He just relocated his base operations to his own forums which are found here: http://www.doitrightconsulting.net/forum/index.php good luck.. shark -

MP11 x64 version doesn't install x64 version
Shark007 replied to S.SubZero's topic in Windows XP 64 Bit Edition
This topic was SPLIT of off topic conversation and the resulting thread can be found in the Windows Vista section. S.SubZero, the new thread is set with you as the topic starter, feel free to adjust the topic title as you see fit. shark -
Since I don't see any way to fix this association problem, the codecs don't do me any good. I mean it's nice you're informing people about the association but you may want to include a "I don't know how to fix it" or "here's how to fix it.." thing because just telling me the reason isn't providing any solution. Its difficult to fix something when it isn't even broken in the 1st place. You only feel it doesn't work correctly because the command doesn't do what you would like it to do. The solution is to know what you are going to do with your system before you decide to install Vista on it. If that decision is to use the 64bit player as default, set it that way before you start setting up file associations. If your system is already past this point, then each file association that was created manually before the 64bit swap, will need to be recreated to point to the 64bit player by rightclicking and choosing open with... and setting it to always open that program. The default windows associations such as WMV are changed automatically to the correct player when you execute the swap shortcut(s). The associations you created manually initially, will still need to be changed again manually to the 64bit player. I had the opportunity to discuss all of this directly with the Microsoft developer that wrote the swapto code recently and he informed me that the registry edit that goes along with the swap command mainly deals with internet shortcuts to media files in webpages. This registry edit of the "Path" is not part of my shortcuts at this time so weblinks clicked will still want to default to the 32bit player. I am now considering modifying my shortcuts to include the registry edit. conversation snips of interest that pertain to this particular thread: Zachd is a "Senior" developer on Windows at Microsoft. Please NOTE Zachd's signature throughout these conversations reads as follows: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights EDIT: i have released version 1.1.6 of the x64 Components to address the issue of the "Path" setting in the registry when swapping the players.
