  2. You constantly confuse me with someone else. Is it disrespectful? Looks very much like it, but probably it's age related, thus I forgive you. I wrote I watch a 2010 show, and even advised it! Just a couple of posts above your usually wrong conclusion. https://msfn.org/board/topic/182485-what-are-you-watching/?do=findComment&comment=1259162

  3. Hello @NojusK! I am using Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Pro 1.75.0.1300 on one of my Windows XP Professional SP3 32-bit partitions. Unfortunately, I have to make the same observation here. The update works, but the last update of the virus definition is v2024.03.13.12. Nothing more up-to-date is currently available. Here is a screenshot: However, we should wait some days to see if this is really the end. You know hope dies last. In any case, I totally agree Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Pro 1.75.0.1300 was and is the lightest antimalware programme ever. That's why I was so happy in July 2023 to have found a way to reactivate it. Just a tip. Save this last definition update to recover it for whatever reasons in the case it is no longer available via online update! Greetings, AstroSkipper

  4. That's a very personal insult to everyone involved with MSFN. I don't agree with your offensive statement.

  5. @XPerceniolmade his "triple-posting" in a row because each film belongs to a different genre. 1 2 3 And no, @XPerceniol doesn't look like one of "only half of your accounts", in my opinion, but several others unnamed profiles are.

  6. Let me help you, even though I'm not the one who wrote about the Dune remake initially, but still. Enjoy. 9. Now the column No. 2 that specifically targets the main weak actors (which is my opinion, also): "2. Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya do their best, and it’s not enough." https://www.forbes.com/sites/erikkain/2024/03/03/the-5-biggest-problems-with-dune-part-2/?sh=16521e2613ce "Not enough" because they simply can't do better, if it's not "weak acting", "poor cast", "miscast", "misfitted actors", I don't know how else to translate it to you. And again, those are *not* "attacks", those are film critic reviews and personal opinions, you don't like them? Ignore, you don't have to reply to everything.

  10. OMG! Use the internet, see tons of negative reviews. Those are *not* "attacks", those are film critic reviews and opinions, you don't like them? Ignore, you don't have to reply to everything. Overall, nothing in that "C" grade film that deserves to be discussed that meticulously. "The 5 Biggest Problems With ‘Dune Part 2’" by Erik Kain. "1. The emotional connection does not connect." "4. Dune Part 2 is too long and too rushed at the same time. And it ends too abruptly." "5. The Harkonnens are just cartoon villains now." https://www.forbes.com/sites/erikkain/2024/03/03/the-5-biggest-problems-with-dune-part-2/?sh=16521e2613ce

  11. I've only been to a theater twice in the last 20 years. And I had to walk out to the car for my work-use noice-cancelling headphone hearing protection for both of those visits!

  12. Interesting, were the characters intentionally weak, or was it do to just poor script writing? https://www.reddit.com/r/movies/comments/6r0dve/what_are_some_great_movies_with_intentionally/

  13. I am NOT familiar with "Dune" (I've heard of it but have ZERO familiarity/insight). Regarding the part I've bolded, "emotional connection" is ONE (of MANY) reasons I do not watch movies! I hate hate HATE watching actors/actresses do "fake tears" and I immediately stop watching no matter what when actors/actresses do these STUPID "fake tears". Look up "The Flash" on Netflix. HATE IT! HATE IT! HATE IT! Because the "superhero" is always always ALWAYS crying like a BABY!

  16. well, went for Vista but funnily enough.... "They say it couldn't be done. yet someone has!" this is the AMD Radeon RX580 8GB running natively on Windows Vista. of course I have the Extended Kernel installed but it has nothing to do with the driver as far as I'm aware. sadly the only driver for NT 6.x is Windows 7 but naturally I went to dig deeper and found a driver. I don't give up easily. and I feel satisfied that i got aero to work and games work too, of course Windows Experience Index doesn't work but eh thats not what the system is being used for is it?

  18. Unfortunately I have only limited time for accounts that are only here for the sake of argument. First of all, Dune: Part One and Part Two do not comprise a “remake” of the shorter and less successful 1984 film, but rather a new and better adaptation of the bestselling 1965 novel by Frank Herbert. I have read the unfavorable review you suggested (at least the first one that is included in the quote above). He gave the film a grade of C (average in the U.S.), but I fail to see how it supports your remark about the casting? The review you suggested states that the Emperor is “played by a badly miscast Christopher Walken, whose natural affectations distract from a movie that’s in desperate need of a more grounded presence.” I have no argument with that! However no one else is described as “miscast,” so citing this review appears to have been self-defeating on your part. I suppose that’s a specific casting criticism? According to the same unfavorable review mentioned above, and immediately following the sentence about Christopher Walken, “Florence Pugh, by contrast, strikes the perfect balance between strength and survivalism in her brief role as the Emperor’s daughter.” I hope this reviewer is right, because Irulan will be an important character in Part Three (having read the books). If you would care to attack any specific member of the cast (perhaps Timothée Chalamet as Paul?), I will be glad to explain why you’re wrong again!

  20. Must have been 9 years since I was in the cinema last time. Seems too much bother these days, I resort to torrents at the odd time I feel like watching a movie. The list from recent years is short, I watched The Matrix Resurrections (2021) in 2022, Storm of the Century (1999) in 2020, The Matrix trilogy (1999, 2003), Idiocracy (2006) and A Quiet Place (2018) in 2019. There are 2 quizzes and 1 satire on local TV channels that I do watch on the more regular basis though.

  26. People do request a lot. That doesn't mean anything. But the main problem is there must be someone who is willing to develop such 64-bit releases. If there is no serious need or strong demand for such stuff, no one will create those versions. It's as simple as that. Even if you don't want to hear that now. On the other hand, that doesn't mean to give up, either.

  30. I paid $7 for the program, I should be able to suggest a feature that allows me to use it on OLED monitors without being told strange sayings? And apparently I'm disrespecting tihiy? I don't see where I was disrespectful at all other than my caps lock in the first comment, and you still see it in the default theme if a taskbar icon glows, such as when a download finishes. Maybe in the future when the classic taskbar code is removed Tihiy can fix the issue so burn-in doesn't happen.

  33. I'm not surprised at all. As you know, complex postings with special links and code are currently very problematic due to the new life of the MSFN post editor. The longer the post, the sooner the well-known error message appears. BTW, any news for us about your obviously changed update policy in terms of UXP browsers and email clients or did I miss something?

  34. Looking at the quotation from the version history on their homepage, the support for Windows XP seems to have been restored in WINSCP 6.3.2 and that completely unexpected. Unbelievable and great! WinSCP is the FTP client I am using to connect my Android devices with my Windows XP computer via WLAN. I thought support for Windows XP had been discontinued for good. BTW, the most recent version 6.4 is already announced but not released yet. But it will probably not be long in coming.

  36. I shouldn't trust Brave these days. I discovered it requests "GetFirmwareType", GetFirmwareType - "Retrieves the firmware type of the local computer". https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/api/winbase/nf-winbase-getfirmwaretype Why would a browser that declares itself "privacy oriented" want to know your exact firmware? Yes, it's for only one purpose, to bind your account to the PC you're on. More and more sophisticated tracking.

  39. It's most likely not your brain or your eyes, it's your TV. Until only about six or seven years ago, I was only running a 27" Sony Trinitron TUBE TV that 'could' be carried by two people but took THREE people my size to carry! The bedroom was a 19" "flatscreen" but was still a TUBE TV, not what we think of when we say "flatscreen" nowadays. (it didn't have a "bowl-shape curved screen, it had a "flat" screen, but was still a *TUBE*) Six or seven years ago I ditched the 27" and the 19" televisions and picked up two 32" true flatscreens that any 8yr old can carry. My hookups were RCA CABLES (the red, yellow, white pair of three push-in connectors). 27" to 32" might not sound like that big of a difference, but the picture difference was GIGANTIC - even on RCA CABLES. I didn't think anything of it, the picture color and crispness was OUT OF THIS WORLD compared to those old TUBE TVs. I was in Entertainment Heaven. One weekend, my brother connects his laptop's HDMI cable between my new 32" TV and my cable tv box. I was watching a baseball game at the time, I could *SEE* the catcher's EYES snap closed for a split second when the ball hit his glove. Ain't NEVER seen that with any set of RCA CABLES.

  40. Yeah, my brain is also wired differently, and like you it works for me and I've come to accept it over the years. Nothing wrong with being "yourself" just the way you are "as is" and this is the problem with the world now, people are canceled for being an "individual" - we live in a 'cookie cutter' world and in a lot of ways I'm glad I'm a misfit. Here's to all the misfits out there

  43. IMHO, there is no need to close this thread. And one thing is clear. If this thread should be closed, it will still not be deleted. You can access the information collected here at any time, but then you can no longer add anything new. Just as it has always been here on MSFN. Anyway! This thread contains a lot of important information, a source of knowledge. I use it for my research regularly.

  45. Yep, you're right! The proof is in the pudding. When I wrote my comment, I was on my couch using an Android tablet. Now, I am back at my Windows XP desktop computer. Although stated as XP-compatible on their website, Malwarebytes AdwCleaner 7.4.2.0 is unfortunately not compatible with Windows XP anymore. It can't be installed.
    1 point
  46. Very good examination! As Malwarebytes AdwCleaner 7.4.2.0 use the database from Oct 10th 2022 under Windows Vista, then it will most probably use the same database under Windows XP. Anyway! I assume there won't be any more recent database for this version in the future due to the lack of updates in the cloud for more than 6 months.

  47. This thread is about antivirus programs targeting Windows XP SP3 only. Posting a list of antivirus programs targeting Windows Vista is not really helpful and rather misleading. There are a lot of versions inside this list which won't work under Windows XP SP3. Anyway!I know this list but it doesn't belong here. At least, you should change the headline to "AntiVirus & Security Software for Windows Vista". To answer your question, Malwarebytes Free v3.5.1 should serve perfectly your needs. I use Malwarebytes Premium v3.5.1 under Windows XP. It is the last version for Windows XP but still receives definition updates. Its detection rate is very good. Only the premium version has a background guard.
