  1. The certificate files are downloaded directly from Microsoft, so they would have to add any additional ones. Individuals can always add extra certificates to their own stores manually of course, including that one.

  2. @anton12 Try the settings I made via ematrix provided in the following screenshot: And try additionally this site-specific user agent override (SSUAO): Mozilla/5.0 (%OS_SLICE% rv:65.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/65.0 If you allow all scripts on this website via ematrix, as is the case without this extension, the video won't play, and the complete website will fail to load correctly. Conclusion: at the moment, this website needs specific settings in New Moon 28 to load and to play the video. One or more scripts don't work in New Moon 28 which therefore may not be loaded. The answer to your question seems to be for now: both, the crappy website and the browser, are responsible for the issue. And the Black Magic is elsewhere. Cheers, AstroSkipper

  3. I can confirm Kaspersky 18, obtained from https://products.s.kaspersky-labs.com/, installs and works fine on my XP SP2 x64 installation, although it was a bit glitchy after initial installation, couldn't add exclusions, it complained about insufficient memory, despite there being about 2 GB free, nothing logging off and back on to Windows couldn't resolve and it didn't recur after reboot either. Definitions are updatable, Web-Antivirus module seems to work - two random malicious URL blocked: Also pulled 4 random recent samples that were blocked after extracting (ZIPs are encrypted): https://bazaar.abuse.ch/sample/01e79ebb5c2b318f0c68c11912b987255ae55662acca4fbb67c958828107f5a7/ https://bazaar.abuse.ch/sample/6238893de251eb7a3b61b171129dfc45afb8de90aaebe85da8e945ae1e095be3/ https://bazaar.abuse.ch/sample/22b66f492bdc66158e2cd53bd9525c49a7b061798cfb6ff6158b69869c1e4d61/ https://bazaar.abuse.ch/sample/36ffe3d8a0b23ce2d6af158c493daf1daf6667a4c4b0d4a4ea017bd40f748893/ One might notice it uses a lot of DLL files, many of them not rebased and even though some are, chances for conflicts are high and hence need to be relocated at runtime is high, so some extra megabytes are consumed since XP doesn't have the ability to manage them smartly like newer OS, at least under the condition right flags are turned on in the specific header, which in this case they are. It requires .NET Framework 4, specifically just the Client Profile, designated as Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile under Add or Remove Programs. It installs it automatically if missing.

  6. You do not need an extension/add-on to increase the history duration. The starting entries in my NM 27 file user.js are: user_pref("places.history.expiration.max_pages", 2147483647); user_pref("places.history.expiration.interval_seconds", 2147483647); First one tells FF to keep 2^31-1 URLs/addresses in file places.sqlite (strictly speaking - sets max. number in/for its table 'moz_places'). Second one tells FF to check for expire once in 2^31-1 seconds (slightly more than 68 years). "God cares about those who are careful themselves" - said a nun rolling a second condom on a candle. -------------------------------- Background (_absolutely_ not required to read). --- Till, AFAIR, 2010 there were direct settings in FF: browser.history_expire_days browser.history_expire_days_min browser.history_expire_sites browser.history_expire_visits I used them at least in FF 3.6.28. Add-on 'Configuration Mania' under menu items 'Browser' - 'Other' has 'Max number of unique URLs to retain in history' with 'Manual' setting. But... all preferences browser.history_expire_* were removed; instead places.history.expiration.* appears/introduces. Horror story, including the birth of extension 'Expire history by days', in/at https://superuser.com/questions/1114637/does-firefox-ship-with-a-new-default-for-history-expires-after --- That new preferences places.history.expiration.* are unsufficient to control the activity of FF towards the file places.sqlite. A significant part of rules is hardcoded in the source code. They are evil. F. e., one rule _deletes_without_any_doubt_ everything that is more than 255 characters long. Other rule get rid of all redirects, thus breaking the history chain. And downloads, of course - who needs them in history? [sarcasm] Horror story, including the investigation of the source code, in/at https://superuser.com/questions/1269516/what-exactly-does-the-number-listed-under-places-history-expiration-transient-c --- My own search for 'places.history.expiration.' in the source code of PM 27. 'places.history.expiration.max_pages' 'places.history.expiration.transient_current_max_pages' 'places.history.expiration.interval_seconds' with comments and details present in palemoon27-master\toolkit\components\places\nsPlacesExpiration.js 38331 bytes 24.04.2021 22:38:44 'places.history.expiration.max_pages' 'places.history.expiration.interval_seconds' present in palemoon27-master\toolkit\components\places\tests\expiration\head_expiration.js 3356 bytes 24.04.2021 22:38:44 'places.history.expiration.max_pages' present in palemoon27-master\services\sync\tests\unit\test_history_tracker.js 6041 bytes 24.04.2021 22:38:44 palemoon27-master\toolkit\components\downloads\test\unit\test_history_expiration.js 3873 bytes 24.04.2021 22:38:44 palemoon27-master\toolkit\components\jsdownloads\test\unit\test_DownloadList.js 18338 bytes 24.04.2021 22:38:44 palemoon27-master\toolkit\components\places\tests\expiration\test_pref_maxpages.js 3718 bytes 24.04.2021 22:38:44 palemoon27-master\toolkit\components\places\tests\unit\test_telemetry.js 5432 bytes 24.04.2021 22:38:44 'places.history.expiration.transient_current_max_pages' present in palemoon27-master\toolkit\components\places\PlacesDBUtils.jsm 43791 bytes 24.04.2021 22:38:44 'places.history.expiration.interval_seconds' present in palemoon27-master\toolkit\components\places\tests\expiration\test_pref_interval.js 3923 bytes 24.04.2021 22:38:44 --- 'places.history.expiration.transient_current_max_pages' is a mirror, no need to set it directly. 'places.history.expiration.max_pages' 'places.history.expiration.interval_seconds' are absent in default about:config page, require to create them manually, or set in file user.js, that I recommend for all personal settings in order to be touched only by the User, distinguished from non-User, commented. --- I do not know about the situation in NM 28. I can not start to seriously use/tune it without knowing how to obtain a list of all preferences. In NM 27 under menu items 'Tools' - 'Web Developer' - 'Error Console' input in 'Code:' field top.opener.Services.prefs.getBranch("").getChildList("") for the list or top.opener.Services.prefs.getBranch("").getChildList("").length for the total number of preferences, press 'Evaluate', get more than 3 thousands. In NM 28 nothing happens. Can anybody tell what works in NM 28? Better not only names list, but with their settings. It means that FF does purge on its own decision, not in sync with User reasons/commands - FF decides, when and how. You are not the first person to express that thought.

  10. He was talking about everyone on this topic, not especially you As I said, for Windows 95 & NT4.0, only use v3.1 as v4 and v5 are not compatible with those systems. I'm working on a fix for v3, so please be patient. There's no need for instructions, it works out of the box. We had a server issue, and it's being fixed don't worry That's fine, not everyone speak english

  13. AUv4 is alive! Unfortunately it is still difficult, because you have to bypass the old endpoints that only works with a Windows server. ProxhttpsProxy is also needed.

  14. I think AstroSkipper did not mention Kaspersky in his thank-you post, because the security concerns that have already been discussed a thousand times make any further consideration or recommendation of Kaspersky security programmes, even under Windows XP, impossible. And it doesn't help when you sing the praises of Kaspersky here You are absolutely right! That's what I think. Thank you for clarification!

  17. 100% possible to make it work! This precise list of tested and working Win 98 boards includes that G41 chipset, like on Asus. https://msfn.org/board/topic/175820-modern-motherboards-working-with-windows-98-the-list/

  18. Which driver do you need? If you have a dedicated GPU, it shouldn't be a problem. The main point is that board is LGA775.

  21. I'm intrigued to try your suggestion with my Pascal ! So I went on a hunt and found this (iCafe?) 391.35. I already read I need to replace strnlen. The values from 378.78 and 382.16 ,from this tutorial, are not found in the nvlddmkm.sys in 391.35. I expected something like this to happen, do you know what I need to patch ? Please help me. And will NVCPL in contrast to 398.11 work in this one ? https://catalog.s.download.windowsupdate.com/c/msdownload/update/driver/drvs/2018/04/8f1d9923-3457-43d7-929c-1ebb96122d58_1c548e6f1128501e7e3c8fff5bca8b6419f6cbcf.cab

  22. 1 - Today I tried the CPL version you claim to use (from the 411.63 driver), it won't even boot with it ! (missing "NA") How do you run it ? 2- Yes. All of the 38x drivers (but I use iCafe), not the crap from Nvidia. I modded them a long time ago. Scroll back, I wrote it here. If you want, I can give you the links. 3- No. It is the bloody "NA" in nvWsS.dll missing 345 . EDIT: The question is, would ii be better to mod the CPL installer itself (it's a big package), or wait for the new kernel ? What is faster/simpler ? What that "N/A" function even does ?

  23. Yes, it will. Though, I don't have Titan XP myself, only the "X". I tried it with GT1030 Pascal and GTX Titan X Maxwell. All is fine, follow the guide.

  24. Will this another new driver work with Titan XP (Pascal) ? I'm currently using your 378.78 and satisfied, but wanted to try the new one. Thnx.

  25. Thanks Dave, roger that. I told him what to mod exactly in another driver and looks like he was finally able to follow the instructions, for those interested - the final is here. https://msfn.org/board/topic/181612-wip-windows-vista-extended-kernel/?do=findComment&comment=1235409 https://msfn.org/board/topic/181612-wip-windows-vista-extended-kernel/?do=findComment&comment=1235412

  26. As far as I'm concerned, you can discuss whatever you like as long as it's reasonably relevant to the topic concerned, unless and until anyone complains about the thread moving too far off-topic. As it's your thread, that's up to you!

  30. Thanks, I guess it's something I'll just have to live with. The machine works so much better with the new version of acpi.sys in every other respect than it does with the default version, I'm not complaining! Off-topic, I've been researching a way of removing 'Restart' from the shutdown menu so I don't keep using it accidentally, but I didn't get anywhere. Does anyone know if that's possible to do?

  31. You are perfectly entitled to start a new thread for users of 'vanilla' Windows 98 only, if you feel it to be necessary. This thread had gone far beyond that, to the point where trying to clean it up would be pointless and would make a nonsense of it. Any new thread must be kept strictly on topic though, or it will go the same way!
