  1. Because you guys know and love me (I hope so, anyway) you all read through my errors; but that doesn't mean I'm not embarrassed when reading them. I'll attempt to correct them, but, sadly, I only see them when somebody replies to my posting (in their replies). Sorry, I just don't see them when writing and I don't know why. Do you know how red faced I'm am? Hopefully not, that would mean my webcam was left on, and that would also mean you caught me singing and dancing with the hair brush in my living room ... was that TIMI For just a second I wanted to fix the errors I made in postings here, and then I was like, "give me a break, they already know you're nuts" ...... so kidding, or am I .... I'm not talking crap, I'm actually thinking about him as I write this and people in my life served (as both) and good example and bad example - both are important and should be cherished. He was both in a strange way, nonetheless, but he has passed away along with others that left an impression on me we hope to leave a good impression on others, and like people writings, I can look past and respect people that are able to read through typos and errors, when I see people correcting others, I sort of feel (to myself) did you correct them to only make yourself feel better and *I'm more intelligent*. Arrogance serves little to help others. Sorry, but appears that way sometimes to me, as I've never claimed to be anything (even close) to perfect and (sometimes) there is sincerity in postings as left raw. Just saying is all ... But, either way, all is well.

Add the -f option so it overwrites the supposedly valid signature. Other versions are either already unsigned or the install_name_tool invalidates the signature. Skipped the renamed of various functions, but otherwise a direct port. (5fd53649b) - Issue #1990 - Part 6 - Fix for infinite loop from Release() on shutdown worker. If the worker is shut down, call Cancel() on the Runnable, this will prevent nsInputStreamReadyEvents to be called again when deallocated. 4. Hi everyone! I'm RatcheT2498, I'm a 20yo student from Slovakia studying computer science. I really enjoy programming as a whole, but I've been in love with retro computing for about as long as I remember knowing how to use a computer My favorite areas are low level - instruction sets (currently learning Motorola 68k, but I've dabbled in Mos 6502 and Zilog Z80 as well), hardware configurations, operating systems, but also compilers and programming languages. I also really like older games, though I don't play them as much as I used to. I found this forum from a YouTube video about the Vista extended kernel, and I joined because it inspired me to take on installing Windows Vista on one of my laptops. I've got a main desktop and a main laptop, on both of which I dualboot a flavor of Linux and Windows 10 (Linux Mint Cinnamon on desktop, testing out Fedora on laptop). Other than that I have a few older laptops (a Toshiba Satellite C660 variant, sadly not currently working as it has no working battery and I lost the power adapter, and an ASUS X553MA which is currently my object of interest), plus a small collections of consoles and 8bit computers I've been a Sony fan for most of my life, hence the username, but I like some of Nintendo's games as well. I think it's really cool that older operating systems are still getting the love that they deserve, even if using them can be difficult in the modern age. (Also I realized later that I'd completely ignored forum etiquette and jumped into posting immediately after signing up - even if nobody noticed, sorry about that! Been a while since I last used a forum )

  6. I've always understood the word "insecure" to mean "not" secure vs. "less" secure; that's why I would've used the latter wording. But as you say, it's linguistic hair-splitting; hardly worth arguing about. A more interesting question is whether it's possible to restore Firefox Sync functionality to either version of Serpent. In the case of St 52, this would involve reverting some very old changes, which sounds risky: no telling what subsequent changes would be rolled back in the attempt. And St 52 users may be using Palemoon Sync now, and wouldn't want to lose that functionality. So probably best to leave St 52 alone, at least unless MCP blocks it from accessing Palemoon Sync. But St 55 still has the original Sync functionality it inherited from FF 53; it just doesn't seem to work for some reason. It may be feasible to fix Sync in St 55. Another possibility that comes to mind is MyPal 68; an XP-compatible FF 68 fork that may support FF Sync. (I haven't tried it.) Either could be the ultimate answer to @Dave-H's conundrum, since he could then use St 55 or MyPal 68 on XP, and Firefox on his other platforms, and could browse most modern Web sites, even on XP, without having to move to 360EE and lose Sync functionality.

  9. In the last week or so, Moonchild updated his Gitea instance in the https://repo.palemoon.org/* code repos, from v1.12.1 straight to v1.17.1; while this was probably a good thing in itself, as the updated version comes with patched security holes, fixed bugs and new features (including localisation to my native tongue, Greek, of all things ), it has unfortunately resulted in broken support in the Goanna3-based apps, namely New Moon 27 ; "buttons" with drop-down menus no longer work, same for "ellipsis" (...) buttons and several other GUI areas (e.g., you now can't change the Gitea localisation via the footer "button") ... Below screen grab is from https://repo.palemoon.org/MoonchildProductions/Pale-Moon/issues loaded in latest NM27: The issue sorting buttons remain unresponsive ; likewise, when loading https://repo.palemoon.org/MoonchildProductions/Pale-Moon/commits/branch/27.9_RelBranch tree branches can't be selected via the branch button, nor can you expand a commit's message via the ellipsis button ... Web Console reports: SyntaxError: invalid for/in left-hand side index.js:9:211593 where the culprit file is https://repo.palemoon.org/assets/js/index.js?v=7ea14c4ca3b4ece8917e08968da69260 Can something be done to restore Gitea support, or is everything lost in NM27? NB that GitHub is severely broken, too, while GitLab won't even load at all, so this latest development practically rules out NM27 for "reading" the most frequently used open-source, on-line, code repositories... Thankfully, UXP-based apps can handle Gitea v1.17.1 fine...

  10. I am the owner of the Basilisk project. While I have no issue with Serpent being developed, at this time I do not plan to restore Windows XP support into the official Basilisk release. In the last release I reinstated 32-bit Windows 7 builds. Those of you on a newer 32 bit Windows OS should be able to use those builds. The 2022.08.06 32 bit installer has a bug where the installer does not actually run on 32 bit OSes. That will be fixed in the next release sometime in September. I do intend to remove the Serpent branding from the upstream Basilisk repo. I will let roytam1 have that and create a new unofficial branding for people who use self compiled Basilisk builds so there is no confusion. If there are any bugs that affect both the official Basilisk and Serpent feel free to open an issue and I'll see if I can address it. Please make sure bugs affect Basilisk first before reporting them, I can't provide any support for Serpent.

He came to see me when he could no longer breathe said everything right and his words where from his soul and because of him, I'm still here as I was suicidal back them. 16. HOPE: “Let the sun shine every day, even if it is behind the clouds”, reads a piece of paper; "We are not alone. Courage and live”, says another. "Anxiety, drug use, depression, psychosis, schizophrenia, bipolar or personality disorder - the man suffers from a mental illness and was in prison." But the man locking himself up at home creates similar conditions like in prison, I think. So what you think about, please? Live, drive! Take the driving lessons, then drive! This is your chance, don't let it pass you by.

I've never driven other than that or owned a car. When people come pick me up and we go on the highway, the road rage is awful and I'm glad I don't drive. Sad situation. EDIT: I actually learned to drive a 4 speed standard manual (I guess that's what it was called back then)

  18. I totally agree! Speaking only for myself, I do not use any Sync Services, neither Firefox nor Pale Moon Sync. I generally try to store as little data as possible on cloud services. But, one thing is clear. No matter what would be changed in this functionality, someone will always come up short and be dissatisfied.

  33. New build of post-deprecated Serpent/moebius for XP! * Notice: This repo will not be built on regular schedule, and changes are experimental as usual. ** Current moebius patch level should be on par with 52.9, but some security patches can not be applied/ported due to source milestone differences between versions. 34. Notice: someone using Google Cloud IP (34.76.158.*) to excessively downloading all my releases at the time and filled up my bandwidth, so I blocked that IP in CF for your information.

  35. I agree, the existence of both Basilisk and Serpent is beneficial for all of us. I am aware of the hostility that occurred here in the past with Matt A Tobin (I have read the roytam1 browser threads here on MSFN for years) and I am aware of the events that occurred with the MyPal browser. I have no hostility towards anyone who uses Windows XP, I think we can work together to make great web browsers. I'll look into the PDF issue, there is definitely a bug somewhere in Basilisk that occurred between January and August.

  36. Many thanks for your presence here and your moderate/kind language . To the best of my knowledge, this was not a request for you inside these forums ; "official" (as in by MCP) Bk never came with support for XP/Vista (while that was true for its initial fork point, Mozilla Firefox 52.6.0); what was probably meant is that you do not declare full-blown war against the Serpent 52.9.0 fork by Roytam1... While the main dev, myself and several other "advanced users" of St52 ALWAYS make it clear that St52 != Bk, some of the (newer) St52 users on XP occasionally turn to the official PM forums for St52 support; this is wrong on them, albeit a small "nuisance" for you that you "should be prepared" to live with for as long as these users can't tell apples from oranges ; kindly redirect them here until, as you said, you remove the "Serpent" unofficial branding from Basilisk (which, hopefully, reduces the number of these "occasions") ... What is really hoped for "here" is that you "accept/acknowledge" the existence of the "fork" and that both user groups (Bk+St52) mutually benefit between them... I am much grateful for that ; a second laptop in my household still runs Win7 SP1 x64 on 2010 era H/W, with only 4GB of RAM; 32-bit Bk runs better there, without depriving the OS from needed resources to concurrently run other applications... Perhaps you could also accept Basilisk-specific verified bugs in another section of the MSFN forums, possibly in https://msfn.org/board/forum/200-web-browsers ? Yes, this is crystal clear and shouldn't be expected of you ... Since I spoke of Basilisk-specific verified bugs, kindly revisit below report: https://forum.palemoon.org/viewtopic.php?p=231584#p231584 I verified it in my own Bk-52.9.2022.08.06 x86 installation; the default setting for PDF files in Basilisk is to "Preview in Basilisk"; with that setting enforced, the embedded PDF.js viewer should be triggered to open (on-line/local) PDF files inside a browser tab[/window]; but in your latest Bk Windows build, the resultant tab[/window] is blank ... OTOH, Serpent 52.9.0 (x86) doesn't suffer from this; the OP's on-line PDF file, https://www.ipcc.ch/site/assets/uploads/2018/02/WG1AR5_Chapter12_FINAL.pdf opens, as expected, in the native PDF viewer, inside a browser tab (the file itself is ca. 35.5MiB in size, so the speed at which it fully renders depends on your connection...). Welcome to MSFN, my kindest regards !

  37. In my Serpent 52 copy, I have: (for APMO) general.useragent.override.addons.palemoon.org;Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; rv:68.0) Gecko/20100101 Goanna/5.2 Firefox/68.0 PaleMoon/31.2.0.1 (for ABBO) general.useragent.override.addons.basilisk-browser.org;Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; rv:68.0) Gecko/20100101 Goanna/5.2 Firefox/68.0 Basilisk/52.9.2022.08.06 I'm on a 32-bit OS myself, so I spoofed Win8.1 x86 as the OS - you can modify this to suit your personal case/taste... Too old a spoofed browser version will get you the "Update Pale Moon (Basilisk)" warning in the add-on(s) page(s)...

  38. Discussion about cracks/piracy is ban-worthy here (and most other places). My rule of thumb: don't use/grow to depend on anything with DRM.

  39. Even if he didn't think it was, that was on him. We did what he wanted. Doesn't justify completely abandoning a paid product just because we paid the price he asked. And again, I don't think anyone expected him to do this forever. We all told him to open-source it so he could completely forget about it and we could continue to be able to use the application long after the site shut down. Everyone could have come out with a win here. But no, he wouldn't do that. Instead, he chose the worst possible option because who the hell knows why.

  40. Doesn't really matter. BigMuscle set the price and we paid the price he asked. To support the project. But BigMuscle isn't properly supporting the project. Or really even supporting it at all. It's like if I paid you $3 for 4 candy bars, but you only gave me 1 candy bar. Doesn't matter how little I spent or not. We agreed on a price and you didn't fulfill your end of the bargain. That's called stealing.
