  1. I agree, the existence of both Basilisk and Serpent is beneficial for all of us. I am aware of the hostility that occurred here in the past with Matt A Tobin (I have read the roytam1 browser threads here on MSFN for years) and I am aware of the events that occurred with the MyPal browser. I have no hostility towards anyone who uses Windows XP, I think we can work together to make great web browsers. I'll look into the PDF issue, there is definitely a bug somewhere in Basilisk that occurred between January and August.

  2. ... Apologies for the tardiness in responding to this... Indeed, reverting: - Bug 1191042 - Use CreateOffscreen for WebGL instead of CreateHeadless. - r=jrmuizel (f98fd02e59) in your "palemoon27" tree: https://github.com/roytam1/palemoon27/commit/1a712471fb1ffc702fabc8ee3dcaf5e17783a9b3 fixes ALL the issues I had with NM27 builds after package "palemoon-27.10.0.win32-git-20220723-b6b16147cc-xpmod.7z" . Below is latest NM27 release: WebGL Renderer is, again, being enabled by default, "about:support" loads as expected (without crashing the whole browser) even when the "about:config" pref "webgl.force-enabled" is toggled to "true" ... Many thanks!

  3. Many thanks for your presence here and your moderate/kind language . To the best of my knowledge, this was not a request for you inside these forums ; "official" (as in by MCP) Bk never came with support for XP/Vista (while that was true for its initial fork point, Mozilla Firefox 52.6.0); what was probably meant is that you do not declare full-blown war against the Serpent 52.9.0 fork by Roytam1... While the main dev, myself and several other "advanced users" of St52 ALWAYS make it clear that St52 != Bk, some of the (newer) St52 users on XP occasionally turn to the official PM forums for St52 support; this is wrong on them, albeit a small "nuisance" for you that you "should be prepared" to live with for as long as these users can't tell apples from oranges ; kindly redirect them here until, as you said, you remove the "Serpent" unofficial branding from Basilisk (which, hopefully, reduces the number of these "occasions") ... What is really hoped for "here" is that you "accept/acknowledge" the existence of the "fork" and that both user groups (Bk+St52) mutually benefit between them... I am much grateful for that ; a second laptop in my household still runs Win7 SP1 x64 on 2010 era H/W, with only 4GB of RAM; 32-bit Bk runs better there, without depriving the OS from needed resources to concurrently run other applications... Perhaps you could also accept Basilisk-specific verified bugs in another section of the MSFN forums, possibly in https://msfn.org/board/forum/200-web-browsers ? Yes, this is crystal clear and shouldn't be expected of you ... Since I spoke of Basilisk-specific verified bugs, kindly revisit below report: https://forum.palemoon.org/viewtopic.php?p=231584#p231584 I verified it in my own Bk-52.9.2022.08.06 x86 installation; the default setting for PDF files in Basilisk is to "Preview in Basilisk"; with that setting enforced, the embedded PDF.js viewer should be triggered to open (on-line/local) PDF files inside a browser tab[/window]; but in your latest Bk Windows build, the resultant tab[/window] is blank ... OTOH, Serpent 52.9.0 (x86) doesn't suffer from this; the OP's on-line PDF file, https://www.ipcc.ch/site/assets/uploads/2018/02/WG1AR5_Chapter12_FINAL.pdf opens, as expected, in the native PDF viewer, inside a browser tab (the file itself is ca. 35.5MiB in size, so the speed at which it fully renders depends on your connection...). Welcome to MSFN, my kindest regards !

  4. I am the owner of the Basilisk project. While I have no issue with Serpent being developed, at this time I do not plan to restore Windows XP support into the official Basilisk release. In the last release I reinstated 32-bit Windows 7 builds. Those of you on a newer 32 bit Windows OS should be able to use those builds. The 2022.08.06 32 bit installer has a bug where the installer does not actually run on 32 bit OSes. That will be fixed in the next release sometime in September. I do intend to remove the Serpent branding from the upstream Basilisk repo. I will let roytam1 have that and create a new unofficial branding for people who use self compiled Basilisk builds so there is no confusion. If there are any bugs that affect both the official Basilisk and Serpent feel free to open an issue and I'll see if I can address it. Please make sure bugs affect Basilisk first before reporting them, I can't provide any support for Serpent.

  5. I have been greatly overhauling the internals of VxKex recently. In upcoming releases, there will be big improvements, such as: Better support for applications which are started from other applications. Many installers depend on this functionality, but so far the implementation in VxKex has been buggy and incomplete. In the upcoming releases, this will be done properly. Better support for rewriting imports of DLLs that are loaded after a program starts. Currently you have to tick "Wait for child process to exit" in the settings, which many users probably didn't know to do. In the upcoming releases, DLLs that are loaded after program startup will always be rewritten, as they should be. Better support for console applications. Currently, the support for console applications started from cmd.exe is buggy, as a direct result of #1 (applications started from other applications), and required a workaround. Better error reporting messages. Some users may have noticed the beginnings of better error messages starting from version 0.0.0.3. The default error messages provided by Windows are sometimes extremely unclear, so in new releases they will be replaced by custom error messages which tell you what is going on. Better information logging. Currently, log is displayed in a console window, which is often too narrow to display the information properly - and the text is disorganized. In the future, logs will be stored in a different format and you will be able to view them neatly in an application similar to Windows Event Viewer. You can expect a new release in the next few weeks or months containing some of the above features. Feel free to ask here or open github issues if you have technical questions.

  9. I don't even see that "Accept & Continue" button in NM28, Serpent52/55, Mypal29.3/68, AFEE360_ver11/13.5 or Kafan. Documents, links and accessing PDF files are working. I have the extension "I don't care about cookies" installed in all of them. All of them also have uBO installed except for Mypal68 where I use Adblocker Ultimate. Using K-Meleon I get that annoying cr@p and clicking on it doesn't make it go away but the site is working anyway. "To gain FULL access" as you wrote I guess you have to create a free account. I tried that with K-Meleon but nothing happens when I click on the button "Create Free Account". Same thing with NM28, Serpent52, Mypal68 and AFEE360_ver11, I'm not able to create an account... AFEE360_ver13.5 probably OK, looks like this but I didn't continue: https://imgur.com/ZTuyO9r Kafan also probably OK: https://imgur.com/fARVHdl

  10. Thank you, I didn't know that at all. So this is a good security feature. So set to "true" do you know where this blocklist is located and what other prefs are related. Thanks again You're welcome! You may check the internal page about:third-party to find out which third-party DLL files are loaded in Mypal 68. I didn't check that, it's informaton from ghacks.net. I am on my Android tablet at the moment.

  11. Thank you, I didn't know that at all. So this is a good security feature. So set to "true" do you know where this blocklist is located and what other prefs are related. Thanks again EDIT: Also wondering about the following prefs and what they do. layers.gpu-process.enabled;true (answered as for XP should be false) media.gpu-process-decoder;true dom.ipc.processPrelaunch.enabled;true browser.tabs.remote.separateFileUriProcess;true (default) browser.tabs.remote.separatePrivilegedContentProcess;false (default) I'm learning and will likely start to get the hang of this in a few years (give or take)

  12. The developer of Mypal 68, @feodor2, is not responsible for the existence of this preference. It's a common preference of Firefox 68 which Mypal 68 was developed from. The default setting is true to avoid DLL injections from known third-party applications via a blocklist. That means, if the preference browser.launcherProcess.enabled is set to true, Mypal 68 blocks DLL Injections by third-party applications.

  13. "I try to keep it off as some people living in this complex keep it on all day long and get worked up." - Yeah, I see, sorry for you...ask absolutely to the competent person, that you can't stand this kind of behavior anymore, it's invasion in your private life with all this brouhaha all day long! Ask to use the headphones for those people who spray you with TV-propaganda! "I hope to build natural immunity to this disease causing media." - good luck with that!

  14. By any chance (as this appears to be a launcher) Do we know much about: browser.launcherProcess.enabled;true [default] <---Answered, should be left at true for security reasons. This "launcher/loader" still has me curios ... I do trust it as @AstroSkipper verifies the developer is trustworthy (I don't doubt that at all), just wondering is all. I'll spend some time this week experimenting and I've enjoyed this browser thus far.

  15. So true ... I try to keep it off as some people living in this complex keep it on all day long and get worked up. I hope to build natural immunity to this disease causing media. Thank you guys, I'm a little better, but not quite as coherent as I should be and the paranoia is still lingering. I'm hanging in there. Hope you guys are well.

  16. Works on 360Chrome 13, 360Chrome 13.5, and DCBrowser. All my other browsers doesn't work (Moebius 55, Serpent 52, New Moon 28, etc) - so the ACCEPT & CONTINUE button doesn't work.

I use the famous Belgian made Triderm and used it right from the start, it's very cool ! And the other stuff you advised will be delivered very soon by my girlfriend, so I'm not completely alone. 19. @D.Draker, surely you did this at the beginning of care of your wounds, yes first it is necessary to clean them very carefully with antiseptic, for example with betadine or the one that does not stain: CHLORHEXIDINE/BENZALKONIUM/ALCOHOL BENZYLIQUE - spray of Biogaran. If your wounds become red - it's inflammation, first see your pharmacist, or doctor, and maybe go to the Emergency of the Hospital! Do not get them wet, wrap the foot in plastic before showering. I hope you are not alone at home. I don't move lately too far...

  20. 1 - I have a big threshold of pain , but yes , they do ! I never doubted you , of course you do have (had) huge muscles , all Frisian people are strong ! 2 - Seems like we are demanded to do too many things... 3 - By any chance, aren't they those who can't tell the difference between "to" and "too" , "your" and "you're" ? Well , they're going to have to live with their "opinion", 'cause we don't care. I remember one of such nurds tried to teach me how to "properly" spell nurd , lol. https://www.collinsdictionary.com/dictionary/english/nurd Again , your is English is great and the spelling is marvellous. I met some nurds here who can't even properly spell the word colour . I usually just ignore them. 4 - I'm gonna tell you a secret, perhaps it's because not all French like to acknowledge they know English xD . And again , I'm pretty sure you wouldn't have such troubles in Vichy . The next time you in France , Vichy would be a great place to visit ! 5A: I didn't write the "same" . The tribes are Germanic , but not the same . My tribe are Franks. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franks Yours is my favourite Frisians , obviously. 5B: No they don't , and this is a very well known leftist propaganda. Why would you repeat it ? 5C: In my life , esp. recently, I met quite a lot of species who look like people , but they are NOT.

  22. In the last week or so, Moonchild updated his Gitea instance in the https://repo.palemoon.org/* code repos, from v1.12.1 straight to v1.17.1; while this was probably a good thing in itself, as the updated version comes with patched security holes, fixed bugs and new features (including localisation to my native tongue, Greek, of all things ), it has unfortunately resulted in broken support in the Goanna3-based apps, namely New Moon 27 ; "buttons" with drop-down menus no longer work, same for "ellipsis" (...) buttons and several other GUI areas (e.g., you now can't change the Gitea localisation via the footer "button") ... Below screen grab is from https://repo.palemoon.org/MoonchildProductions/Pale-Moon/issues loaded in latest NM27: The issue sorting buttons remain unresponsive ; likewise, when loading https://repo.palemoon.org/MoonchildProductions/Pale-Moon/commits/branch/27.9_RelBranch tree branches can't be selected via the branch button, nor can you expand a commit's message via the ellipsis button ... Web Console reports: SyntaxError: invalid for/in left-hand side index.js:9:211593 where the culprit file is https://repo.palemoon.org/assets/js/index.js?v=7ea14c4ca3b4ece8917e08968da69260 Can something be done to restore Gitea support, or is everything lost in NM27? NB that GitHub is severely broken, too, while GitLab won't even load at all, so this latest development practically rules out NM27 for "reading" the most frequently used open-source, on-line, code repositories... Thankfully, UXP-based apps can handle Gitea v1.17.1 fine...

  26. However, I started learning French when I was 12 years old, so the 2 languages I speak aside from my native language (Arabic) are: English and French. French is still a WIP (Work In Progress) for me, so it's not exactly perfect, but English, oh man, you can consider me mastered on it.

  29. What made you think that latest NM28 would behave differently in rendering web content between (first) Win7 and (then) WinXP? If the site in question renders broken in Win7, there's almost certainty it will do so under XP... The opposite is not always true, when the site's server performs UA-sniffing and blocks loading/rendering simply based on the OS (XP) reported in the UA... Already reported upstream: https://forum.palemoon.org/viewtopic.php?f=70&t=28747 Sadly, it's not; as your posted Error Console Log says, this is due to missing Regex Unicode Property Escapes support in UXP ; upstream have open issues for it at: https://repo.palemoon.org/MoonchildProductions/UXP/issues/1282 (=> https://repo.palemoon.org/MoonchildProductions/UXP/issues/1286 [closed, unresolved] =>) https://repo.palemoon.org/MoonchildProductions/UXP/issues/1675 but they have seen little action as of late... TL;DR: Switch to a Chromium-based browser for Google's proprietary services... (... perhaps the palefill extension can be enhanced to add such missing support into UXP-based browsers, but it's not ready yet... )

  32. Injuries to the foot hurt like hell. I'm very sensitive to them. By the way, I also had muscles when I was younger. We have to respect that, of course, and there are many other things one can talk about. I think some members, here in this forum, have a completely different opinion. I didn't mean to say that the French can't learn English or are less talented. I haven't been to France for a while. In the past, I didn't get very far with English when I spent my holidays there. I had to get out my French dictionary. It's probably all totally changed nowadays! Nice to hear that we originate from the same tribes! Truth be told, all human individuals from the species homo sapiens do have the same origin, from a biological point of view. Unfortunately, from another point of view, there are some exceptions.

I never did find it (my mind or the cypher ... lol) I think I have a coupon for another one Know much money do you have when you combine touch, vision, smell, hearing, and taste ... Five sense. ..... On Topic: For now, I'll just go with the recommendation by @Sampei.Nihira and if a site reports it needs that cypher (I've disabled), I'll decide if its worth it, or not to enable it again. Not complaining ... I think this project is just awesome and all-in-all ... I'd consider it stable.

  38. Sorry I have been busy with a job to highlight the blocking of browser trackers (Firefox vs Edge). Interested? In my opinion you should decrease the Insecure Cipher Suites, but if you don't test: https://browserleaks.com/ssl and try the browser in the web pages you frequent it is not possible to verify the functionality. An optimal situation would be with only 2 Insecure Cipher Suites active. If you are interested I can include an image of Firefox (but of course updated to the latest version).
